Surprise bday party for MF, organised by the OtherHalf (who always manages to find yummy restaurants that I have never been to).Seated in one of the private rooms upstairs. Here’s what we had. 金錢雞 (唔係雞)- true showstopper, even for the cholesterol-conscious. 黃金魚皮拼椒鹽白飯魚- great pairing with the champagne. Balance of salted egg yolk was perfect. Here’s what we had.
金錢雞 (唔係雞)- true showstopper, even for the cholesterol-conscious.
黃金魚皮拼椒鹽白飯魚- great pairing with the champagne. Balance of salted egg yolk was perfect. Delightfully crispy.
杏汁菜膽燉豬肺: tender pork lungs simmered to perfection.
豉椒炒蟶子米粉底: a standout choice. The fresh and substantial razor clams were expertly cooked, and the crispy vermicelli absorbed the flavors of the umami-rich sauce.
上湯焗澳洲龍蝦: lobster meat was luscious and succulent.
至尊燒鵝皇: a testament indeed to the restaurant's expertise in preparing roasted meats. With crispy skin, juicy meat, and not too fatty. Everyone ranked it higher than the Michelin one. Would definitely come back for a goose lunch box.
黃金鮑魚: very tender. Nice departure from the usual 椒鹽 version.
金湯健康素千層: deep fried taro strips on a bed of tofu, seasoned with pumpkin sauce.
鳳梨生炒骨: ribs were a bit overcooked unfortunately.
上湯蒜子浸菜心: the garlic cloves and superior broth infused the vegetables with delightful flavor.
西米蓮蓉焗布甸 for dessert.
In summary: an opulent treat coupled with excellent service. Highly recommended, especially the goose.
