Without a doubt, the restaurant is located at one of the most accessible conjunction in Central between Lyndhurst Terrace and Hollywood Road. The oyster house features French oysters and wine, with a wide selection of other wine sourced from all over the world. Since this is a oyster restaurant, white wine is a no brainer. If you are not familiar with wine, feel free to ask the staff for recommendation and they are more than happy to look for the wine that you desire. You may choose a 6-piece or
Pinky delivered a fresher taste with a sweet aftertaste which is similar to Gillardeau.
Lambert has a complex taste of sweetness with its smooth texture and thick in size
La Deesse Blanc has the most sea water flavour whcih gave a stronger savouriness. Baked Snails ($56)
After the oysters, we moved to an appetiser. Their snails were baked in a puff pastry vol au vents with mashed potato at the bottom of the vol au vents as well as underneath the vol au vents.
The snails were quite big in size, and each vol au vents could hold around 2 snails. The snails were very soft and marinated with a lot of herbs and butter. To me, it was a bit too salty in taste but I still liked how tender the snails were. Before we moved to the main course, we switched to a bottle of Chateau French Red Wine to go with our meat based dish. The restaurant does offer a few selections of half bottle of wine. Since we have already had a glass of white, it was good to have a half bottle afterward. Roast Lamb Leg ($428)
For our main course, roast lamb leg is not a very common dish to find in Hong Kong. Lamb leg was a lot more tender in texture and whiter in colour compared to lamb chop. In terms of taste, it doesn't have that intense game taste but still with a mellow lamb flavour to it. For $428, you get a whole leg grilled to perfection, with a side of salad dressed with balsamic vinegar. It definitely worths because I don't think it's easy to find this part of lamb in any other restaurants in Hong Kong. Lastly, we just have to have dessert to complete our meal.
Caramel Apple Cheesecake ($68)
This apple cheesecake is nothing like what I have imagined! The cheesecake batter and the caramelised apple cubes were stuffed inside a pilo pastry. It was a bit similar to apple strudel to us but with a cheese mixture stuffing instead. Lastly, I would really love to appreciate the excellent service the restaurant was providing. On the day we arrived, my friend was so super sick that she couldn't eat most of the dishes. The staff noticed that and asked if my friend is actually vegetarian. (Funny Enough) The staff offered lighter options for us.
