Going to Soho East without a reservation for dinner on a Friday night is a risk. We thought we might as well try our luck. We walked around the area and finally found this restaurant that has a table for 2. Perfect. We waited a little as the manager told us that one table just paid the bill and they needed to clear up the table. Totally acceptable. We waited and started looking at the menu. There are lots to choose from, we both wanted to have steak and had our eyes on some starters. So we didn't go for the set dinner.
We ordered parma ham & melon and snails with cheese puff pastry for started then we had US prime rib eyes and PS new zealand rib eyes. The parma ham came first and the perfect size, it just tastes the way it should be. Then the snails was surprisingly good, it cooked in a creamy cheesy sauce without the shells. It was the first time I ate snails this way and it was good.
The steak, both cooked perfectly medium and very juicy with vegetable and potato.
Overall, the food is good and the service is average. Just not attentive enough and you have to put your hand up few times to get butter for the bread and it shouldn't be like this in a fine dinning establishment.
We also ordered the dessert, chocolate pudding with melting chocolate inside…. YUMMY. It arrived in the shape of heart. SWEET.
Together we ordered a bottle of white wine, which is good so the bill came as $959 for a romantic meal. Priceless.
