This is the 3rd time my daughter and I have been to this place for tea on a Saturday afternoon. She loves the chilli paste and I like the iced coffee. It is also convenient for our afternoon shopping rest stop.I waited in the queue to order and pay while my daughter waited for some seats. It is busy on Saturday afternoons and if there are no small tables, then we have to share the long tables in the middle that sits 6 people. Usually people keep the 2 middle seats empty. She ordered the Nasi Lemak set which has 3 chicken wings, some fried fish with peanuts, a small slice of fried egg and some chilli paste. She had iced barley water to drink.
I ordered the pork floss toast set with iced coffee and was surprised to find out that there are 2 eggs included and you can have it fried or poached soft boiled. I asked for fried and well done.
The toast was thick and had some sort of sweet syrup under the pork floss. It was freshly made but I thought the pork floss did not have much flavour, not like the best types that you can buy from Singapore or Taiwan. The eggs we put some thick soy sauce on top but still didn't see the relevance. We shared one and left the other.
As usual, my daughter finished her wings, fish and peanuts, chilli paste but not all the coconut flavoured rice. It was too much for tea.
I always vowed to come back to try their laksa or mee siam but every time I am here, Ichange my mind.
Though it's a nice place to rest in between shopping and the food is good and cheap. We think we might give it a break as 3 times in a year is too many for us.
