Cycling day with great friends. Rainy day no good. But we pressed on nonetheless in the cold, pouring rain. Thankfully nobody fell ill. Lunch was mid-way. We were starving and cold. Any hot food tastes good. This is just a very brief record of this restaurant because honestly I don't remember much from a causal dining experience 2 months ago. Environmentretty biker-friendly. Pretty biker-friendly. No pretenses, and there's a little outdoor area which might be nice if you come during autumn. There is a little space at the entrance to park bikes. Around 3-4 adult-sized bikes. Interesting, thoughful decor here and there - this is, after all, a cafe of country art. There are 2 washrooms. One is upstairs. There are more seats upstairs. Service:
Friendly, helpful and accommodating! One waitress saw that we had some trouble getting the bikes onto the front porch and helped us rearrange some chairs. Feels like a home business. I liked the casual and relaxing atmosphere. We are bikers. We don't do manners.

Generous garlic butter spread on warm baugette. Russian borsch + pan-fried pork chop with onion sauce
The soup was rather watery but was hot. Lots of vegetables inside the soup.
Not very memorable - i.e. nothing impressive, nothing disappointing. But I do remember there was quite a lot of fat around the edge of the fillet.Creme brulee
The custard wasn't very smooth. It was a chilled brulee. The layer of caramelization was rather thick. Chocolate lava cake
Not too sweet, but was disappointingly floury. The center was runny though. Alright, that's all I remember.
