Le French is a cafe that I think I've walked by a gazillion times but I never thought to go in. It's not it's fault, actually. The location is right across from Noc and Bakehouse. Both are super popular and so this place is over looked. But as it was raining heavily outside, I ducked into here for food as I couldn't stand outside for Noc and I wasn't in the mood to stand in line at Bakehouse. It was not that full inside. I seem to find this every time I walk by here. Another reason that deters me

Menu is in English and Chinese. On the weekends, they didn't have any of their French items. Apparently that is for weekdays only. On weekends, they have a very limited brunch options.
Disappointed, I was stuck with the all day breakfast ($98). But as it was raining heavily outside, I had no choice and accepted my fate. For you see, I hate ordering all day breakfasts in Hong Kong. To me, they are the most over priced, over rated item ever. What you get is unseasoned eggs, soggy bacon, cheap sausage, no salad dressing on a few pieces of lettuce, store bought bread and the worst of all ... baked beans from a can. All that for around $200. A rip off is what I always feel and I despise it. But I had no choice.
The sets come with a cup of tea but they had no blueberry and apple cinnamon. But they did have apple tea or yuzu, so I chose an apple tea. It was ok. Basically dried apple bits with some syrup in boiling water.
I was a bit distraught and prepared for the worst. But then the all day breakfast appeared. Wow. It looked beautiful. There was a heaping mountain of salad that was .. wait for it, dressed! It wasn't a few pieces of sad bland lettuce. The eggs were fluffy and woah ... seasoned! They were perfectly cooked. The bacon wasn't crispy but at least it wasn't boiled and soggy. There were two small white sausages that were fabulous. Not boiled but actually seared. The croissant, I suspect was store bought but at least it didn't taste like it came from a package. It was actually buttery and flakey. I rolled out of there full! This was a decent plate of food.
Service was friendly. This plate gave me hope. How was their French food during the week? I'll have to find out and come back not on a weekend.
