Basmati is not difficult to find, which is just located next to the mtr station; it may however be easily overlooked as it is located on the 2nd floor. When we arrived, we were quickly greeted by the waitress and arranged for a table. As we were not quite familiar with Indian food, we asked the waitress to introduce the menu to us and she was very willing to do so.She was very familiar with the menu and was really helpful. When we arrived, we were quickly greeted by the waitress and arranged for a table.
As we were not quite familiar with Indian food, we asked the waitress to introduce the menu to us and she was very willing to do so.
She was very familiar with the menu and was really helpful. Finally we ordered an Indian beer (godfather) and a mango lassi (yogurt drink) to start off.
The mango lassi is rich but not too sweet. For appetizer, we ordered the Samosa. It is a fried pastry filled with potatoes and pea with a crispy skin. It is a bit filling but definitely goes well with the beer.
For the main courses, we ordered the Tandoori Chicken, Fish Masala and a naan bread. Tandoori Chicken - it comes with the heated plate and smells really good. The waitress helped squeeze the lemon on top.
The chicken was delicious - seasoned with a bit of spice and was well marinated and tender. Definitely the highlight of the night. Fish Masala - the fish fillet tastes fresh and would be better if the skin is more crispy.
The sauce tastes alright and not too spicy. Dipping the naan bread into the sauce is a must-try. This place is worth visiting - with the decent decoration, nice seating, friendly service and most importantly the authentic indian cuisine. Saw that they have a lunch buffet at a price under $100. People working nearby should give it a try
