Never in my entire time going out on a Friday night after working all week have I ever felt like a restaurant would ruin my Friday night. Our whole meal took 2.5 hours and almost every dish took 30 mins to arrive cooked. This is not European fine dining where things take their sweet time. Anyone who works in this industry knows the dishes we ordered could’ve been served in half the time. What’s worse is, they served edamame without a separate dish or bowl to put the edamame leftovers/skin, and they didn’t give us bowls when they served the oden dish. I have never been to a restaurant where we have to separately request this because they overlooked this or are short of staff and are in a hurry. I didn’t even take photos of everything we ate (which I normally do) because this place just ruined my experience.
I actually had high hopes for this restaurant because of its location and I saw the other restaurants in the same area with really good vibes, it looked like a really nice place to chill on a Friday night, but after trying this, I was wrong.
As we were waiting for each dish to arrive, I kept reading more and more bad reviews on the restaurant and by then I had had enough of this place, I was highly disappointed by their service. Service/hospitality really matters these days in all types of industries and this is not the only review that reflects this.
I also didn’t get why the staff had to take the time to come over and ask if we wanted to take a photo before they went to cook or steam/grill the dish. It was a Friday night, busy as ever and when I looked on openrice reviews or other social media posts, there’s not one photo where people have posted the dish raw.
At the end, there was one more dish we were waiting for, we decided to cancel it and then the staff came back saying it’ll only take 3 more minutes but we still said we’d like to cancel it. The staff replied to us in a very rude tone, saying it’ll only take 3 more minutes. But that is not the point, the point is we ordered this 1 hour ago (as you can track this on the QR code order) and we would like to cancel. At this point their should be apologetic instead of being rude to us. They could have us just accepted we want to cancel this dish, be civil about it and let us pay the cheque as asked afterwards.
Because of all this, I will not choose to come back here. There are plenty of restaurants that are busy on a Friday night but they don’t provide poor service like this. And to think we paid $90+ service change, definitely not worth the money to experience all of this.
