I ordered a hot Americano yesterday but my drink never came. At the same time, the barista kept shouting “Grande Iced Americano” but no one went to the counter to pick that up. After waiting for over 10 minutes, I approached the barista and politely asked her if my order had been mixed up. She insisted that I ordered an iced Americano, and I clarified that that wasn’t the case. She then grudgingly agreed to redo my order (“咁咪幫你整個杯囉!”). And believe it or not, that wasn’t even the end of the story. When my hot Americano was finally ready, she pushed my cup over to me but shouted “Hazelnut Latte”. I was not sure whether she got my order right this time, and as such I politely asked her for clarifications again. She did not acknowledge my question. Nor did she give me any answers either. When I asked for the second time, she rudely snapped “Mister, I gave you this cup ... and this is your cup ! You do not need to ask again” (先生,我俾得呢杯俾你,就係你嘅喇!你唔洗係度問!). I had a sip, saw that it was indeed a hot Americano and then left the counter.
The place was understaffed when I went and I can imagine the stress that the staff were facing, but all along I was very polite with the barista ... saying “please” and “thank you” quite a few times. Even tho Pacific Coffee is more or less a fast food type of place, by no means was I expecting such rude service. I certainly did not do anything wrong to deserve such treatment either !
I will definitely avoid this store in the future.
