A more than four decades old establishment in Sheung Wan of Hong Kong island, Sang Kee congee shop has been one of the most must-try places for congee. The shop space is very small and people just quietly slurp their porridge, unlike the noisy crowd in a cha chan teng. Congee is the ultimate Chinese comfort food. Fish belly congee is definitely a must-try here. The sheer sweetness, firm and smooth flesh of the belly rendered this experience almost priceless. The congee may look plain but there is big chunks of fish meat inside. When the bowl of congee was served on the table, the portion definitely look generous. There is even more fish than the congee itself. The taste was even more overwhelming when dipped with soy sauce and slices of ginger.
