We saw an Openrice promotion so we booked a table for dinner. We arrived like 20 minutes ahead and the whole place looked so empty. We walked past the reception, through the main corridor but couldn't spot even one waiter. At the main dining area we finally saw around 5 waitresses standing there staring at us but did nothing, just like Mona Lisa. It felt so odd. Having got no indication, we randomly picked a table to sit.

I think it was their supervisor who approached us finally. She checked our booking phone number, and said we should wait at the waiting area until the booking hours started, and emphasized there was a limit of 90 minutes dining time. We were surprised of being kicked out when the whole place was so empty, and we thought the 90 minutes limit was irrelevant to our question. The supervisor said "we are just adhering to the booking time".

At the waiting area we were sitting with question marks. 10 minutes later, we decided to ask them again if we can just sit inside as it's almost time. Their supervisor's answer was still the same, and again she emphasized the dining time was limited to 90 minutes. We were like, did she understand our question at all?

Then we asked "how about walk-ins? Do they need to wait when there are all these empty tables?". A waiter nearby heard us and said in an impatient tone against difficult customers, "it's company policy!". We found it funny and asked what kind of policy was that. The supervisor finally said it's the terms of the openrice promotion.

We still can't understand the significance of not giving some flexibility of starting time while they could limit our dining time to 90 minutes, but if they told us the terms of the openrice promotion was that stringent at the first place, we wouldn't have pressed on.

10 minutes later, it was finally our booking time and we walked to the empty dining area, and the impatient waiter asked for our booking phone number, again.

A waitress guided us to a table. Quite a nice view I must say, overlooking the Victoria Harbour, compared to the waiting area. Again, the waitress reiterated the openrice promotion limited our dining time to 90 minutes. Adding to that, she said the openrice promotion was limited to the boneless versions of the dishes under promotion. We asked which were the dishes under promotion, and they (like 6 waiters and waiteesses) spent 3 minutes to figure out.

Ok, finally we are talking about the food.

Chicken was ok, crispy at first but the sauce wasn't cooperative to keep the crisp. Stir-fried glass noodles was perfectly the style that suitable for HK people, not too oily. Makgeoli cocktail was supposed to have alcohol but when tested on our bodies it apparently had 0% alcohol. Tasted thick and nice and quenched our thirst though.

90 minutes. Time's up!

As we expected, a waitress came to us with our bill at exactly 90 minutes. Well done time keeper! Ok we placed a credit card and waited there for 5 minutes. No one. Upon asking, we had to settle the bill at the reception. If the 90 minutes limit was so important why didn't they tell us where to settle the bill?

We left the restaurant seeing no one queuing up.

good job!
