Merry X'mas to all friends and staff at OR! It's impossible to resist the temptation of Froyo when it's so close to your place right? (Even when it's 6 degrees centigrade out there )The cheery pink decor is just the right setting for an ice cream place (though it's not selling ice cream - strictly speaking), but has it anything to do with Eskimos! But I agree that the Eskimo and penguin illustations are so cute. There's a take-out section facing the street but I usually prefer to eat in, even tho

The cheery pink decor is just the right setting for an ice cream place (though it's not selling ice cream - strictly speaking), but has it anything to do with Eskimos! But I agree that the Eskimo and penguin illustations are so cute.
There's a take-out section facing the street but I usually prefer to eat in, even though the place is packed with students in the afternoon.
There are 2 sizes of Froyo on offer, Mini Mo ($28, 150 gm) and Mighty Mo ($35, 200 gm), each inclusive of one topping and your choice of one of 8 sauces. Each additional topping costs $5. Or you can choose to have your yogurt mixed with fruit as a smoothie ($30).
As for the froyo, 4 flavors are available, namely Original Tart, MO's 4 Berries, Tropical Mango and Low Fat Chocolate, in addition ot a weekly special flavor.
So here are my favorites (all Mini Mo sizes):
A) Original Tart + MO's 4 Berries + Granola
I ordered a twist and the berry flavor in MO's 4 Berries was so rich (luckily not too overpowering) that the yogurt flavor in Original Tart was overpowered. The granola was crunchy (Oh I looooove cereal!)
B) Original Tart + Tropical Mango + Strawberries + Mochi (+$5)
Mochi was presumably a new topping (was on the menu though) and the mochi here was good. Just chewy enough but not too hard - "glutinous" ma! I know I shouldn't be eating "Tropical" Mango - as I said, it was 6 oC out there - but that special weekly flavor aka Pineapple wasn't my cup of froyo LOL. The mango flavor was a better balance with the original flavor IMO. Strawberries - sweet ^__^
C) Original Tart + Granola + Mochi + Caramel Sauce
Like any other Froyo joint (probably except Yo Mama) Eski Mo's also has a stamp card system, but it stands out with the point that it's much easier to get freebies - I got a free topping on just my 2nd purchase and the offer could be used right on the spot! i.e. you get a free topping every other Froyo you eat and if you collect up to 10 stamps you get a free Froyo! So my mochi this time was complimentary.
So...actually if you just eat Original Tart you'll find the "tartness" there, and I'm impressed (I guess the owners are non-locals so the formula is inclined to a more yogurt-y flavor). The yougurt is smooth and not overly creamy. The caramel sauce I added was a bit like toffee.
I'm drooling while I'm typing this...better go out and get another Froyo at Eski Mo's!
