We had 1 cochillino (suckling pig), one octopus paella with squid ink and one salmon appetizer as well as two half pints of spanish beer.The cochillino was out of this world, with crispy yet thin skin and juicy and tender meat. However we ordered the roasted pig belly roll together with the suckling pig and that was a slight disappointment, it being too salty and too fatty for our liking. The cochillino was out of this world, with crispy yet thin skin and juicy and tender meat. However we ordered the roasted pig belly roll together with the suckling pig and that was a slight disappointment, it being too salty and too fatty for our liking. Honestly would have given it 5 stars for taste were it not for the belly. So rmb to tell the waiter you do not need the belly (which as far as I know will cut down the price of your dish by $60). The pineapple accompanying the pig was great though, sweet but not artificially sweet. It really helped balance out the fatty cochillino.
The salmon appetizer (sorry forgot the name) consists of something like salmon fragments infused with mayonnaise on top of a tempura-like matter with salmon eggs inside - and a crispy fried salmon skin inserted on top of the mayonnaise salmon. It is an interesting combination which gives rich flavours.
The octopus squid ink paella was great, with the slow cooked octopus being emphasis of the dish. It was so tender to my surprise - brilliant texture, but would be even better if the taste of octopus is stronger. Anyways, still a lovely dish and squeezing the lemon provided on the octopus and prawns makes the flavours of the paella more complete.
The spanish beer was great.
Overall a great spanish place! But would appreciate it if the restaurant is more spacious.
