Burmese restaurant is quite a rarity in HK, let alone in Macau, and this one has been in business for many years, as evidenced by the decoration and the setting. It has two floors, in the old neighborhood, and unless you deliberately looking for it would be quite difficult to find as the door is not on the street but inside a building. With mostly local patrons, on the day we ordered the pig ear salad and fish noodle. The salad is tasty, and in my opinion quite similar to the Thai-style salad with chicken feet, but replacing with the crunchy pig ear. The onion, Chinese celery and coriander has a very intense aroma and flavor, with the spiciness of the chili giving the overall salad a very appetizing and refreshing taste. A good starter!
The fish noodle is the signature dish, with crispy cracker on top of the soup noodle, and the soup I guess is using turmeric so it is yellowish in colour. The rice noodle is not the flat ones that we have in Cantonese soup noodle but more like what we called 'rice strings'. Not sure whether it is the style but the soup is not heated sufficiently for me though overall it is quite delicious.
The service is decent, a typical family restaurant that has a lot of history and being part of the community, giving you a strong sense of friendliness that you feel integrated. The price is also very reasonable at $136 for the salad and two noodles.
My overall rating is 53/100.
