This is no epitomic representation of a good Japanese homestyle fusion restaurant, but you don't find many of these in Hong Kong anyway and to be fair, some dishes were quite good. The stewed-pork meatballs for one were juicy, grilled with a flavourful teriyaki sauce and tasted like shanghainese "lion heads". The pork chop was extremely tough, dry and tasteless, as was the orange duck which was only slightly better because it had a sauce. The fried gobou was also lacking in flavour, which was extra wasteful because of its overly large portion. Grilled nigiri was...well, not bad but not good - on the dry side. In conclusion you're probably better off ordering only grilled dishes, I'd expect the japanese style hamburg steaks to be alright too if that tickles your fancy, but otherwise don't come at all if you want other snacks to go with your japanese beer.

My friend and I came to this nice little Japanese restaurant for lunch and the result was totally heart warming to say the least
The place was only half full when we arrived at around 12:50pm. We were promptly given a seat and greeted by the friendly and helpful wait staff. The place was quite small (only around 10-15 tables at most) and the minimalistic decor gave it a "homely" feel. Tables were adequately spaced out, and hence although the place was quite small, it did not have a "crampy" feeling. A quick survey of the surroundings also convinced me that this place must be authentic - coz we were literally "surrounded" by Japanese patrons !


We glanced over the menu and decided to have 2 set lunches. Mine was the chicken skewers set which came with a salad (very fresh and crispy cabbage shreds with a light sour dressing, which was very refreshing), miso soup (good but not particularly impressive), a bowl of rice (genuine Japanese rice used here - very nice), and 5 skewers featuring different parts of the chicken. Although I could not be sure, I think there was chicken liver (good), minced chicken meat (good), chicken meat balls (good), chicken skin ? with onion (good), and chicken knuckles marinated with honey (very good, I really liked this one !). All the skewers were cooked just right and the standard was high - at least on the same level, if not better than most other yakitori joints I have visited so far
Likewise, my friend ordered a deep fried pork chop with rice set, which also came with fresh vegetables and rice. He was generous enough to share a piece of the fried pork with me, and it was also very good - I mean, perhaps not as good as the tonkasu shop at WTC, but still of very high standard. In contrary to what others think, we do not find the food portions to be particularly small. At the end I also ordered a cup of coffee, which was freshly brewed and very nice. The price was perfectly reasonable in my opinion. We had a most enjoyable experience at this joint, and I will definitely come back to try their other stuff like 釜飯 and 溫泉蛋 later. And for those who complain about the price and the food portion, maybe they really should go somewhere else to have their local -styled "jap food". This place is for real Jap food lovers only and hence I think there should not be a shortage of customers anyway.

煮雜菜$55, 可以說是一人份量, 每種蔬菜只得3件

清酒煮蜆$70, 淡淡的酒味, 蜆肉細小及過熟

鵝肝$120, 是整餐晚飯最出色的,亦是唯一可以取得滿分的菜色。


雖然是開放式廚房, 廚師在燒烤時, 我也聞不到香味。而燒物亦用了大量牛油, 所以某些食物被牛油的味道蓋了。個人認為各款肉丸是最差的, 其他食物都ok。

最後結帳是七百多元,我仔細看清有無有將店員漏單的項目列在帳單上,才發現該店的服務費是13.5%?
百思不得其解,為何要收取這麼貴的服務費,雖然招呼都不差,又不是最好的;例如上菜時侍應不會告訴我們現在送上什麼菜式,我們也難以確認是否我們點的食物,要問她才答;所謂的服務只是加水次數較密些罷了。這樣的收費完全不合理。

離開時一點飽肚的感覺也沒有,我還要到樓下的潮式麵店吃魚蛋粉+油菜+炸魚皮。

失望而回~~~

我以後一定不會再來光顧!

It was an awesome meal and my boyfriend and I had a great time.I totally love the quiet environment and the attentiveness of the waitresses. 星期六,和babe和這間小小店子試試。點了雞串燒定食和照燒雞定食(各$70)。雞串燒定食共5串: 雞肉+蔥、肉丸、雞肝、雞心等,因為有內臟,餐廳主動提醒我們,服務細心。定食附送的菜絲沙律,用料新鮮,醬汁味道非常清新。味噌湯味道濃郁。上菜時串燒香味撲鼻,燒汁很美味。照燒雞定食: 雞肉給切成小塊,用鐵板上,雞皮脆肉嫩,送飯一流!飯用的當然是日本米店內客人大多是日本家庭,環境整潔寧靜,非常不錯。簡簡單單,很滿意的一餐。

店内佈置簡約,環境舒適,這所小巧玲瓏的日式餐館,是銅鑼灣鬧市中難得的清幽之地。如沒記錯,午餐共有五款,很想試他們的串燒,所以點了其中的雞串燒套餐($70)。不吃内臟的人對着肝腎之類,無法下嚥,所以下單前,店員仔細地解説了串燒餐中的食物,以免做成不快。食物來了!碟上放着五串誘人的串燒。先摘下大蔥雞肉串,大蔥香甜,雞肉鮮嫩。雞肉丸裏加入了黑芝麻,後來跟老闆娘談起,原來還混了剁碎了的雞皮,這樣可以令肉丸更滑,也能增加當中的香味。另外三串是雞内臟,雞肝甘香,入口即溶,雞心嫩滑,雞腎夠爽,口感和味道都很好。粒粒飽滿的白米飯,又香又軟,店中所用的燒汁很棒,不只跟肉類,就是和着白飯,也很合得來。而味噌湯中則混了不少洋蔥,跟傳統口味有點出入,但仍然甚爲討好。午餐中的菜絲沙律,沙律醬是老闆娘自家調配的。她用了三日時間把洋蔥曬乾來做BASE,再加上WHITE WINE VINEGAR、日本沙律油等炮製而成,酸酸甜甜,非常特別。醃菜方面有兩片清爽青瓜和另一碟,是蘿蔔罷,加了魚子的,微辣,很醒胃。跟店員談起,原來日籍老闆娘還開班受徒,烹飪班在星期二下午。老闆娘手藝了得,學員應該會有不錯的收穫。很久沒有邊吃邊想

等了半年,說的是五~九月期間限定的冷麵。話說半年前來吃午市,餐牌中著有中華冷麵,惜寒風天,未能如願以嚐。仲夏漸近,抱著期望而來,坐在店角一寓,不加思索叫下了中華冷麵。午市好不熱鬧,樓上舖,不乏說日本語的捧場客;閒坐串燒吧檯,近午市之末,師傅閒時徒手剝下銀杏殼,已近蟬鳴之時,銀杏看上眼倍感大顆。即叫即做,等上了好一回始見它的真面目,廬山背後,是玻璃碟盛著的三色冷麵,由青瓜絲、蛋絲及火腿構成,下了數片番茄點綴,細膩的配襯下,暑氣消減半分,伴碟是木魚水調的醋汁及一碟沙律醬與日式芥末,或甜酸或酸辣,悉隨尊便,貫徹用家精神。隨心地將醋汁、芥末及沙律醬拌勻,瓜絲、蛋絲切得細膩,有著諧和口感,配與中華拉麵,味道很協調,當然,醋汁與辛香的芥末補充了味道不足,亦喚醒了食慾。已留意了蛋絲半分鐘,那複合而成的蛋香與中華蛋麵仿如鴛鴦配,是切幼絲起的效果,是蛋質本身,又或是醋汁而起的化解學用?不得而知,卻因它而在短時間清碟,回味。隨餐配送的麵豉湯,下了不少洋蔥,帶著西方料理影子,也不錯。看著那天攝下的照片,一間感動的小店、一碟中華冷麵,令人回味。

上次來吃過後說要和小卡再光顧,記起已是年多之後。星期六下午沒訂位闖上來,差點被擋在門外,原來這天有一班日本太太在搞試酒會,佔了店後面的一張長桌。平日下午來此店光顧的,大多是日本太太,星期六下午則是日本家庭客居多,一家三、四口來吃,本地客依然甚少。先吃串燒(此店主打的是燒鳥和日式西餐),點了銀杏、牛舌、雞軟骨;三串的水準都極高,燒得香而不乾,鹽的份量拿捏得準,比一般居酒屋做得好多了。除了銀杏外(小臣不太喜歡其澀味),其他都吃得過癮。小卡要了我推薦的豚丼定食。即燒的豚肉香氣撲鼻而來,只是肉質略韌,若用上再鬆軟一些的豚肉就完美了。但店家調的燒汁很美味,伴飯吃一流,數十元一客的豚丼定食有這種水平,不應苛求。我的咖哩牛尾飯亦非常出色,燜至極腍的牛尾幾近入口即化,日式咖哩汁帶著豐厚的果香,伴珍珠米飯讓人一口一口地吃不停。咖啡要另加十元,雖不至極品,但卻是日式餐廳少見的濃厚。在這種日本風味濃厚的小店吃日式口味的東西,可以讓人幻想在渡假。下次會晚上來試試。

小卡要了我推薦的豚丼定食。即燒的豚肉香氣撲鼻而來,只是肉質略韌,若用上再鬆軟一些的豚肉就完美了。但店家調的燒汁很美味,伴飯吃一流,數十元一客的豚丼定食有這種水平,不應苛求。

我的咖哩牛尾飯亦非常出色,燜至極腍的牛尾幾近入口即化,日式咖哩汁帶著豐厚的果香,伴珍珠米飯讓人一口一口地吃不停。

咖啡要另加十元,雖不至極品,但卻是日式餐廳少見的濃厚。

在這種日本風味濃厚的小店吃日式口味的東西,可以讓人幻想在渡假。

下次會晚上來試試。

先來串燒,分別是鹽燒雞腎,汁燒大蔥雞肉串、燒雞肝及燒豬肉丸各兩串。這裡的串燒一向也不錯,雞腎口感很肥美豐腴,吃起來爽口,鹽燒也冶味,美味無窮,是必吃之物,連吃三串也沒有問題;大蔥雞肉串也不錯,雞肉緻滑而燒過的大蔥又香口,汁燒又正合味道;燒雞肝差了一點,肝燒得不香口,有點腍腍的,同樣情況出現在豬肉丸上,完全不結實,也欠缺口感,可以更好;

再來是冷豆腐併天婦羅碎,豆腐很香滑,加上醬油味道很好,天婦羅碎加強口感,有趣;是日的「一品」是柚子汁鴨胸,鴨胸是包裝貨,勝在下酒不錯,要讚的是沙律汁調得美味,幾醒胃;蕃茄沙律很清新,南瓜沙律是暖的,很清甜美味,泡菜醬煮雜菜就清清的,輕盈之選;

是日的主角上場,是雞肉釜飯。這裡的釜飯是即叫即煮,所以等閒也要等上15分鐘。日本米飯很美味,醬汁香濃,也很香冬菇及牛蒡的味道。配料除了雞肉,還有牛蒡、蒟蒻、冬菇絲等等,相當豐富。飯底煮得剛好夠濕,非常滿意。在香港做釜飯的地方不多,這裡是做得最好的了。

也試了鹽燒蟹腳,這個反而普普通通,90蚊一客,偏貴了。

甜品是焦糖燉蛋,原味比咖啡味好吃,做得香甜又幼滑,也不可以錯過。

女大將及兩位女侍應服務很好,具日式店子的水準。

連啤酒幾杯,埋單八百多。不便宜,但環境舒適,吃得也寫意。約了下次見面,也會在此。
