It was then the pork chop ~ normally there is risk ordering pork chop that it could be tough or over-cooked... I wonder if the shop uses slow cook for the pork chop as i believe it nailed the timing for cooking the protein ~

After all the delicious dishes above, we decided to try out the dessert here ... the shop recommended the chocolate cake but I think it is rather disappointing having considered the quality of other courses we just had.

頂級澳洲肉眼牛扒$98 (+$48轉成午市套餐)

入內才得知此店是Cafe Deco Group期旗下,早前在網上見它在做牛扒期間限定已欲一試,還未特地拜訪卻悄悄出現在身邊。宣傳品上聲稱牛扒由澳洲牧場直送,以多種優質穀物餵飼令牛肉油花均勻,加上餐廳以14天濕式熟成方法處理牛肉,讓牛肉肉質香甜多汁,說得天花龍鳯,就我看來吃起來味道好才是皇道。帶有格仔坑紋的牛扒質素不錯,肉味濃郁,可惜要求五成熟但來到覺得七成有多,扣了少許分數。

可能內進時沒期望,吃畢倒是覺得有點驚喜,而侍應對我倆的服務亦甚為貼心,勤加水又留意我們的進食進度,適時上菜;不過面對其他遲來的客人就表現得不太專業,明明人不多但收碟和上菜都像追追趕趕似的,人家只是停下來聊幾句就問他們是否吃完,還在享用主菜就上甜品,是阻著他們落場的意思嗎?

首先餐前麵包,麵包係熱嘅,重要外脆內軟,質素唔錯,而且牛油係已經放軟咗,可以好容易咁搽上麵包度,加分!

前菜, 都幾好味,魚嘅煙燻味好濃郁,仲有好鹹香嘅火腿,加埋creamy 嘅牛油果蛋黃醬,啱啱好可以blend埋 魚同火腿嘅味道,再加埋沙律菜令到成個濃郁味道輕盈少少。呢個菜唔止味道豐富,仲有好多texture, 爽口嘅沙律菜,煙靭嘅火腿,流心嘅蛋黃,同好有咬口嘅brioche。 如果呢個菜再加多少少檸檬汁,同檸檬皮,咁就perfect嘞,因為檸檬應該可以再將成件事再提升少少,成個味道會再立體少少。

經典嘅洋蔥湯,好濃郁,但係又唔會太鹹,最重要佢哋嘅芝士份量夠多,而且芝士味好濃郁好香,真係一路趙一路有芝士香,真係好好味,而家諗起都仲回味緊。仲有間餐廳嘅服務真係一流,我哋叫咗一個洋蔥湯,因為怕飽得滯食唔晒,佢哋竟然好主動咁話可以幫我哋分兩份,我哋其實都有啲唔好意思,不過佢哋有真係好ok,同好有誠意咁幫我哋分咗兩杯,佢哋唔係就咁分架,係真係比咗兩個小portion,兩隻杯上菜時都係熱,仲要兩個入面都有好多芝士,都有一件麵包,仲要係分咗再拎去焗溶啲芝士,唔係就咁一個一早準備好嘅standard湯就咁拔開兩碗。呢個服務態度真係值得一讚。

第一個主菜,係鴨脾,都係經典菜。好乾身,唔會話覺得好油膩,鴨皮好脆,脾肉就咁食就鹹咗少少,不過如果加埋啲薯仔同洋蔥一齊食就啱啱好。啲鴨肉都處理得幾好,唔會話有好勁嘅鴨羶味。啲french bean 都煮得啱啱好,翠綠得嚟又爽口。如果多少少汁就更好嘞。

第二個主菜,就係10oz 嘅安格斯牛扒,其實我係有諗過食法國菜食牛扒係唔係唔係好法國菜,不過呢個都係佢哋嘅廚師推介,都無理由唔試,而且我對牛扒嘅抵抗力係好低,根本忍唔到唔叫。牛扒就不過不失,可能係彩數,咁啱我呢塊扒就多咗啲筋,同埋好似dry咗少少,不過味道同熟道都係合格嘅。而且個herb butter都唔錯。薯條又係值得一讚,炸得啱啱好,好脆,又有足夠嘅seasoning,真係好好味,好有水準。

最後就梗係唔少得甜品,朱古力蛋糕。蛋糕非常鬆軟,朱古力味夠濃,而且唔太甜,蛋糕上枱係暖嘅,加埋雲呢拿雪糕,又係一個經典嘅perfect match。完全可以為呢一餐劃上一個完美嘅句號。

呢度除咗食物好食,佢哋嘅服務真係好好,佢哋會等你食完一道菜先再上另一道,不特止仲會每一道菜都會同你換碟,而且識得先上鴨脾,再上牛扒,真係唔係間間都會咁做,或者識得咁做。呢度嘅服務係真係超值!

主菜金眼鯛反有點平淡無奇,但伴碟的三文魚子很讚

A little tucked away at the end of Elgin St, so that explains the lesser crowd there. Went without reservation but still have big table available on a Sat night. A good selection of food and beverage choices. Food is average with some really good and some below par, there is some room for improvement apparently on food quality. The price is reasonable. Service can be a little more efficient though.

再來就是米飯班主至愛,大胃王至怕的酥皮焗羊鞍 Rack of Lamb ($278),其實,酥皮在那兒呢?那層只是麵包糠呀.... 點了七成熟,但成品只有三-五成,見它依然是粉嫩的,怕退貨再送來的時候會過熟,所以還是收貨吧~ 肉質頗嫩滑的,沒有羊羶味,肉味亦不濃,麻麻...~~ 相比起羊鞍,底下的薯蓉更為吸引,香滑美味呀!

伴湯的還有多士與蛋黃大蒜醬rouille. 這都是很地道的馬賽湯食法。 大蒜醬很有蛋香的味道,吃膩了牛油來一記新鮮的配搭也不錯。

海鮮湯其實剛好是二人的份量。食材足夠分配在兩只湯碗上。

可以吃到不同的海鮮雖然很是不錯,但比較可惜的是這道海鮮湯的熬製時間似乎不是很夠。熬出來的海鮮湯湯底不濃不稠亦欠海鮮味。 作為signature dish便令人有點失望。

不久前才在法國之窗嚐過油封鴨,可以與這裡的比較一下。

純以賣相而言,油鴨肶沒有了上肶位置的肉,顯得不夠完整。

雖然如比,但主菜下伴有薯仔,四季豆及蕃茄等伴菜,讓整道主菜得到很好的平衡。伴菜可並不是普通的貨色,這個普羅旺斯焗蕃茄,加了麵包屑及蒜片等同焗,蕃茄大塊又可口。

說回主菜本身,鴨肶煮得很夠腍,用刀叉稍稍用力已可將骨肉完全分離。鴨肉鹹香十足,肉汁香在每一口咬嚼中充盈於口腔內。相比於法國之窗,這兒的油封鴨更為灑家。強力推介。

吃過主菜後,還有少許白酒剩下,是時候點一道甜品送酒

令我想起層層叠遊戲的蛋白脆餅甜品。蛋白脆餅夾雜著榛子mousse. 脆餅與榛子mousse都不會做得很甜,所以不會有過膩的感覺。 但不知怎的,吃完這道甜品之後卻有若有所失的感覺。

後來再細看甜品餐牌,終於找到端倪。甜品餐牌上無論法文及英文介紹這道甜品時都應伴有雲喱嗱雪糕,但中文的介紹却消失了!!

根據商品說明條例,若對商品作出錯誤陳述.....(下刪數百字....)

可惜發現這個問題已是回到家裡之後,不能再作當場追究。

回想這道甜品,就是欠缺那冰冷入心的痛快感!

綜合感覺今晚食物除了鴨腿較突出外, 其餘都是中規中矩。 希望不是因為被心情影响了食慾....
