Fabulous food, carefully prepared, and attentive service in a cozy environment - a great dinner experience!Treated good friends from Tokyo there last night, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We picked two different sets (each set serving two, about 1050 and 1150 a set, I think) of 6 course dinner. The steak tartare came out great, even though I am not a huge fan for raw meat in general. Treated good friends from Tokyo there last night, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We picked two different sets (each set serving two, about 1050 and 1150 a set, I think) of 6 course dinner. The steak tartare came out great, even though I am not a huge fan for raw meat in general. They were also flexible (the steak tartare was a subsititute, since we really wanted to try it). The ladies were really impressed with the salad. The duck in 3 ways (smoked, braised, and a pate) was good - especially the braised which was juicy yet crispy on the ouside. Two fish dishes were both nice with very fresh fish (local fish). A stewed rabbit was also on the menu and it was very tender.
The desserts were superb. Hazelnut mousse was intense in the flavor, and both came with very elaborate decoration/accompanion of several sauces with quite impressive presentation!
We had our own wine, but a glance at the wine list (2 pages) suggested a carefully selected list with mid-tier prices $350-$500 a bottle.
The chef came out multiple times to check with us, and was very informative of the materials he used (he flies two packages from France a week, plus locally selected fish and produce). The cooking, style, and service were all consistent with "small town in Provence" (where the chef is from) positioning. A well enjoyed evening, indeed!
