It's my and my husband's second time visiting the restaurant and it never fails our expectation. We had another enjoyable dinner with El Cerdo.
We ordered Iberian pork chop with baked cinnamon apple & rosemary sauce, their signature paella, grilled squid with parsley & lemon sauce and Spanish style mille feuille. We're sooooo in love with the paella. The paella was a bit dry yet the taste was awesome. My husband is quite picky about food but he couldn't help devouring the big pan of rice. I especially love the cured meat and crispy pork pieces among the rice which add to the texture and flavour of the paella. The mussles on top were also fresh and delicious.
The pork chop was also very appetizing. The meat was tender and juicy and the sauce went perfectly with the meat. We also loved the baked apple which served as a good balance of the greasy feeling you might have from the fat of the pork chop.
The grilled squid, however, was a bit disappointing. The sauce was great and refreshing but the squid was not "grilled enough".
The Spanish style mille feuille was another highlight. We couldn't try it the first time we visited as it was sold out. And we're really happy we could finally try it. The portion was a bit small but, without exaggerating, it was a gourmet dessert. The sweetness of the custard was just right and the puff pastry gave off a buttery taste which hit the spot. It was a great end-of-the-meal treat.
We'll definitely go again and highly recommend to everyone!
