New things are no wonder the craze of target of Hongkongers. 28 Fortune Young, as a newly opened dim sum restaurant in Ma On Shan, had been extremely popular when it first started in November 2016. Now, after a month, you could easily get a place even during lunch hour. Perhaps the reason is being pricy despite the gimmick of modeling dim sum. Dim sum platter ($118) Nice to try four dim sum on a single plate. A good choice for a small group of customers. There are 2 pieces of grapefruit shrimp dumplings (in the shape of grapefruit), 2 pieces of deep-fried dumplings with ham, chicken and cream sauce (in the shape of pear), 1 piece of purple potato bun (in the shape of ET cat), and 1 piece of taro bun (in the shape of a piggy).
All of them look pretty cute and I would focus my comment on the taste. Thick skin and small shrimps for the ‘grapefruit’ shrimp dumplings. The ‘pear’ tastes like typical deep-fried dumplings despite being shaped. Quite nice. The ‘cat’ and ‘piggy’ are okay, as expected, since the modelling (‘drawing’ with edible ingredients and adding small pieces of ears) does not really increase difficulty.
A note is that the platter is only available during 11:30-16:30. Orders in advance for dining after 18:00.
Steamed floral rice with shrimp in lotus leaf wrap ($99)
Big portion and nicely flavored steamed rice. Unique in the way that the lotus leaf is cut into half instead of one pieces from the middle.

They serve the noodles in small quantities, just as locals do, since this noodle dish is more of a snack than a main dish in Sichuan street food. Look and taste really simple but the authentic version contains a long list of almost 30 ingredients among the traightforward cooking. Rich in flavor- freshly boiled noodles in pungent and sticky red chili oil topped with ground pork sauce and fried peanut flakes. The four shrimp wontons are nice too- big shrimp in thin wonton skin. So tasty that we ordered a second bowl.
In a sentence, could visit once in a while for the hybrid of cuteness and quality.
