To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. After being sat down it took almost 15 mins before we were waving at one of the waiters to draw their attention to request for some water and the menu despite waiters were walking already constantly around us attending other customers.

Having decided what to eat again it took almost 10 mins to draw someone’s attention to take our order.

The food as I mentioned in the title was OKAY. We had the Octopus Potato appetiser to share and ordered two pasta dishes. But something I don’t understand was when we finished each dish with waiters walking around us endlessly attending other customers no one would come and clear up our dishes. Almost felt insulting at some point.

However, there were two things that did come very fast. 1) the pace of the food coming out. 2) and the bill when we requested it.

Total cost HKD 700 for three dishes incl. of 10% service. Not a matter of pricing but it wasn’t exactly a pleasant meal knowing waiters SEE you but won’t give us a menu, take our order and clear up the finished plates.

It was a pleasant surprise to try the fried asparagus - a healthy version of chips.

For main, I got Salt-Baked Italian Seabass With Mediterranean Tomato Crudites & Seasonal Vegetables. It was perfectly cooked - sea bass was very tender and delicious. My husband ordered their homemade pasta and he was satisfied with it as well.

This Italian restaurant is perfect for a once-in-awhile date night. We shall be back soon.

I came here during the week for the set lunch. My partner and I enjoyed the 3 course meal, both of us starting with the classic minestrone. Main course was chicken and beef; then for dessert I had the mango sorbet and pomelo salad (delicious and perfect on a hot day!)The service was impeccable and the food tasty and portioned nicely. I ordered their seasonal veal truffle tagliatelle to start. The chef came out to our table to shave the truffle on to my dish. He was so generous with the truffle that I cannot even see the pasta underneath. The aroma of truffle smelled amazing and the pasta was al-dente. Quite an amazing pasta dish.

第一次喝這個用Artichoke 做主角既湯。新奇,有驚喜!!🤓🤓

Appetizer - Homemade Potato Gnocchi with Cheese Fondue 一次又一次....既驚喜!!實在令我有種每餐都要黎呢度用膽既衝動!!😍😍 Gnocchi 本身好少食,對呢款食物既經驗不太好。但這款無論是口感還是味道都是值得一讚,再讚
黎這裡,必定要食這個菜式。

但很不明白,為何把這個非常飽肚的美食放在前菜。一邊喝酒一邊吃完這個後,跟本沒有位置再可容納其他食物,真是失望。


Main Course - Braised Rump of Lamb Polenta, Red Wine Jus and Blue Berries 份量太大,之前的安排令喝酒之人再無空間交食物,再看到這個更沒胃口。味道不夠入味,食物難配酒,前菜那麽好,想不到主菜卻令人失望。


餐廳有責任去建議選取食物的種類再介紹給客人。不是隨便喜歡煮什麼,就做什麼,也要 能"配搭"才可。太不專業!


甜品時段因為趕時間,沒能吃到。希望有機會再來一試

When the ice cream come out I couldn't believe its portion! You can easily share it with up to 6 people, but I FINISHED IT ALL!
Obviously this isn't what this restaurang is famous for, but it's definitely a must try.
The low melting point (cuz handcrafted!) makes it so smooth and the toppings has so many varieties, you can never go wrong with chocolatey and fruity. But what about an expresso shot giving it a hint of bitterness balancing it all. It's a party on your taste bud. And the chef was super passionate and cute!

The brunch we had was quit ordinary. On the appetiser table, there were cold cuts, cold dishes, plenty of tomatoes and cheese. The main courses were average without anything special to write home about.
Honestly, I can't say the food is bad because it isn't. But it's just very very average without any surprises. The homemade pasta I had was not al dente at all. The sauce was very bland as I could only taste cream but nothing else.
They took cheese and tomatoes very seriously as they provided six types of tomatoes and eight types of cheese. Tomatoes were fresh and sweet. Cheese was ..........just cheese, ha ha.

Service
There were more staff than many restaurants. Their service was prompt. I guess no one liked working on Sunday therefore I saw poker faces only.

I guess they pay more attention to the deco than the food. The whole restaurant is very nicely decorated with a focus on details. There are plenty of decorations around, walls, cupboards and even corners. It's quite pleasant to dine there.
Price is very reasonable for a high end restaurant. You go there because of the deco and location rather than the food.

我對意大利文都係識少少嗰種

因為實在非常地道

佢有啲嘢我真係未食過

佢嘅橄欖油有啲青青嘅味道

你可以要求一個湯分兩份上就可以試唔同嘅嘢啱曬兩個女仔食

雜菜湯真係好多種雜菜加上佢又話 多過12款口感煙韌

又可以加芝士真係精彩

呢pat白色芝士嘢有好多蕃茄

又有蛋白再加pesto oil

其實食完已經開始有飽嘅感覺

食埋個ravioli再加另外一個 seafood pasta真係飽到上喉嚨

好食梗係唔使講啦

個pasta仲要係freshly handmade

口感可愛煙靭

琴晚同2個朋友去咗呢一間意大利餐廳度食晚飯裝修都幾雅觀同大體。簡單而有少少特色。我哋叫咗兩個前菜分別係帶子同煮八爪魚個帶子清清地,而且都幾清甜。而本人就比較想鍾意食果個八爪魚,因為煮得都幾林,而且幾入味。叫咗兩個意大利粉個係新鮮嘅意大利粉,而另外一個呢就係蜆肉意大利粉。當然係新鮮嘅意大利粉比較有口感又chewy啦。之後我哋叫咗一份安格斯牛扒。牛扒可以啦。最後我哋就叫左一個dessert selection分嚟食。甜品做得唔錯,尤其是個薑汁布甸。個心太軟都OK。

Good friend recommends the Italian restaurant, Giando at Star Street Wan Chai. Me and my honey immediately went for a lunch trial. Good friend recommends the Italian restaurant, Giando at Star Street Wan Chai. Me and my honey immediately went for a lunch trial. Due to still being CNY holiday period, they served the brunch menu (HKD 338), which consists of salad and appetizers buffet, one main course, and dessert.

The setting is quite high end. Very comfortable. The buffet selection is ok but not as large variety compared to a similar newly opened Italian restaurant, Spiga. With hams, salad, fruits, cheese, etc (no hot food)... but the quality is exceptional. One of the bell pepper stuffing is really good. Absolute delicious.

For main course, I picked the Spaghetti with Mixed Seafood and Cherry Tomato source. The portion is ok, with shrimp, squid, and scallop. However, to me the flavour is only average and the cherry tomato source isnt strong enough to blend the seafood together. Also, the texture of spaghetti is a bit on the hard side to my liking. The seafood ingredient is very fresh but just the overall taste is a bit average.

My wife picked the Pan Fried Cod Fish with Cherry Tomato. The fish is very smooth and very nicely prepared. However, again the flavour of the sauce is quite light and didnt quite stand out and blend with the fish.

For dessert, we picked the Tiramisu and Hazelnut Parfait with Chololate Shave. The Tiramisu cake is absolutely outstanding, one of the very best I have ever tried. The sweetness, creaminess, texture of layers, along with perfect chololate and coffee flavour make it such an outstanding dessert. The Hazelnet Parfait compared to the Tiramisu is a bit more sweet but I would definitely go for the Tiramisu. With additonal HKD 18, you can have the coffee or tea and it is a bargain as the cappicino is really smooth.

Overall, I would say Giando is a high quality Italian restaurant even though the main course is a bit on average side. The desserts are very nice and in particular the Tiramisu. I would definitely come back and again try out their other main dishes.

這道鱈魚份量不少,有三大件配上薯仔粒。鱈魚入口極之嫩滑,配以淡口蕃茄醬汁,又幾好味。尤其是加埋橄㰖,鹹鹹地吊起D鮮味。以西餐烹調方法可令這魚有蒸魚的嫩滑口感,真是難得!

這意粉份量不少,可是意粉應該不會是鮮製或手工造的。意大利餐廳的意粉無論味道或口感都是十分普通,真的叫人十分失望。海鮮以蝦同魷魚為主,醬汁是最普通的蕃茄汁,味道微酸,無乜驚喜。

甜品叫人欲罷不能!實在太好食了!軟綿綿又滑溜的mascarpone cheese , 混合好moist 的旦糕層,滲出淡淡然咖啡酒香,甜度的平衡十分精準,多吃也不覺得膩!是必點之選。

這道甜品也十分出色,雪糕磚充滿十足榛果味,十分滑溜香甜,相比tiramisu 之下,立即變得失色。

Cappuccino :是即磨的,用的是著名的lily coffee beans, 入口甘香而醇厚,泡沫豐盈而細緻,不錯。
