服務方面
- 侍應反應快而且態度良好。由於我地唔知"千里香豆腐"即係臭豆腐, 碟豆腐嚟到我地先知叫錯左,便請侍應拿走並要求是否可取消。侍應解釋是即叫即炸的,所以我地亦沒有再要求。埋單時先知原來佢已經幫我地取消左。佢全程都保持笑容,無不悅之色,服務態度一流。
- Book 位時已經講明9:30要還枱, 咁食兩個半鐘我覺得都好合理,而且去到9點幾都無催我地埋單。

埋單$1,500, 平均每人$250, 我覺得係物有所值。

p.s. 原本我諗住6個人訂半打壽包,點知Book 位時知客話"1打好D,我地送ga"。初時以為係行貨,食落至發現真材實料同好好味,我好飽都忍唔住食左兩個。

一入到鋪內就知道位置唔多, 一到8:30我地未叫埋單已經有Waitress拎單比我地, 而且佢地都有混醬比我地用, 當然呢個要收錢啦, 總括來講, 食物係唔錯, 湯底亦唔叫差, 我係覺得貴左d, 3個人食左$1137, 有加一服務費 (Waiter既服務係非常好), 有混醬收費 (我唔記得幾多錢), 要收茶錢, 食物係碟碟計, 但無乜好特別既野食........

謙記D食物一向都幾有水準,賣相亦不俗。當然,價錢並不便宜,普普通通也要二三百元一個人。湯底:蕃茄牛腩窩及謙記魚頭窩。因小弟唔食魚頭,所以都係蕃茄牛腩窩吸引D。蕃茄湯幾足料,剩飲味道也不錯。不過,如想試真味道,都係未落火煱配料前試好D,否則蕃茄湯嘅味道很快被其他食物蓋過。丸類:墨魚丸口感OK,不過無乜味。相反豬肉丸唔錯,既有咬口又香肉味。餃類:魚皮餃鹹咗少少。鵝肝雲吞更加取巧,雖雲吞本身OK,但件鵝肝粒細粒到差不多睇唔到,又無鵝肝味,差D喎!牛肉:雖本地牛肉較貴,但都係美國肥牛好食D。肉質肥瘦適中,好味。海鮮:魷魚、鱔片、鯇魚腩等都不俗,幾新鮮。蠔亦好大隻,OK。蔬菜茹類:同樣幾靚幾好食。

推介!味道很好!
比牛頸脊好味。
肥瘦均勻,且很有肉味。
入口肉味即湧出來。
一碟好似成六十幾蚊,只得8片,都幾值錢!

手打蝦丸 + 手打牛丸 + 手打墨丸
所有丸類的通病都係質地太實。
打得唔夠鬆,肉打得實得得的。
牛丸有淡淡的陳皮味,牛肉味亦很濃。
墨丸墨魚粒不夠,味道極淡,完全吃不出墨魚味。
蝦丸相對較好,味道濃郁,用很多鮮蝦打成!

各式丸類釀鮮菇
丸類同散叫的一樣。
不過鮮菇好似無洗過咁,個邊仲黑黑地,仲有沙添!
可以不試。

魚麵
係鯪魚麵。
麵呈淺灰色,不過味道有點腥。
而且有碎骨,麵條也不彈牙,可以不叫!

鱔條
從來不好鱔的我,都試咗一條。
好爽口,肉質彈牙!
味道鮮甜!

珊瑚蚌
勁奇怪!酸架!
唔知點解個味會咁奇怪。但聞落又無異味。
入口還帶點 "saan",食完條脷仲有點痺,好在之後無肚痛!

鵝腸
超肥呀!肥膏多得嚇人。
要用筷子夾走晒先敢放落水。
淥完之後縮晒水,勁細條,似雞腸/鴨腸多d囉!

黑柏葉
質素麻麻,柏葉外層的黑皮層有些已剝落,而且色澤也不夠深。
只要淥十秒就食得!otherwise韌到咬唔到。

水餃拼雲吞:
水餃幾大隻,有蝦、豬肉同木耳絲。皮薄料多,較雲吞好吃。
雲吞散尾處較實,味道一般。

稻庭烏冬:
超正!係用乾扁身烏冬,預先煮熟,所以上枱時黐到一pat pat。
不過一放落水就散開。
超好味,好滑、好煙韌,但絕不能煮過久,否則會太淋。
重點係個湯,配埋個湯一齊食簡直一絕。
湯底鮮甜,也帶點蕃茄的酸味,加埋烏冬一齊食,真係食唔停口!

邊爐後的湯底絕不能放過。
冒住燥熱的危機,飲咗兩碗湯。
好甜,好夠濃!

魚茸春卷($38) - 賣相不太討好, 吃下魚味也欠奉, 腍腍一舊怪怪的, 忽然間有點懷念榮記的春卷
豬軟骨($38) - 在本人來說肉只是配襯, 軟骨才是主角, 但在這夜肉很鬆化, 配上爽脆的軟骨令人一吃愛上
鱔片($42) - 五大片的整齊放在碟上, 一夾上手薄如紙, 兩片才等如平常吃的一片, 口感沒什麼可言, 質量與價錢不成正比
娃娃菜($26) - 在尾段湯已被各配料變得濃郁美味起來, 正好放上菜類來吸盡那精華
魚麵($42) - 第一次唧魚麵, 看似無難度但原來真需要些技巧, 舞不來就要朋友幫手, 魚麵太過軟腍, 魚味欠奉, 只覺吃著麵粉團
芝士腸($38) - 一看已知是超市貨色, 所以還是不吃好了
貢丸($38) - 也不是我那杯茶, 所以都是當看不見
朝日啤($20) x 3 - 是日特價
蔗汁($60) - 賣六十元一小酌, 一放下綠得令人奇怪, 味道只有一個字...甜, 最後也不喝為妙

原來生日來到會有壽飽的, 但點心師傅收工四點, 早上打電話來說太遲通知所以來不及預備, 本來想給朋友驚喜, 現在沒有難免會令人有些少兒失望, 沒有壽飽也總有些鍋後甜品, 類似芒果糕的甜點, 沒有品嚐過, 但聽同行朋友說也不錯

單看價錢偏貴, 份量也偏少, 難怪在星期六的晚上, 人客也只得數檯

要左冬瓜盅湯底,幾好,幾足料

I believe that having hotpot (打邊爐) is a good way to tell how adventurous a person is when it comes to food. Where else can you choose from all kinds of offals, such as pig’s livers and goose intestines, as well as seafood and various cut sof beef, meat, and dumplings all on the same “menu”? For instance, when I was at 謙記 the other day for hotpot, we ordered pig’s lungs(豬肺)and chicken testicles (雞子,aka chicken fries in the US) as they were not always available in other hotpot places. 謙記had 豬肺pre-cooked adequately so they only required little time in the broth. It was simply an enchanting textural symphony in your mouth when you chewed on the tender lung meat (軟稔的豬肺肉) with the crunchy soft “tubes”(爽脆非常的小管). When you bite into the transparent thin skin of the tiny fresh 雞子, the sweet “juice” burst inside your mouth with the creamy innards coating your tongue. Every time I had 雞子 I wondered why people were so afraid to try them? Was it the look? The texture? Or was it just because it didn't appear "civilized" to eat 雞子? Regardless, do you know that even some Americans like them? To be exact, they prefer the larger duck or turkey testicles(aka duck / turkey fries) as size does matter in the US
. Of course, duck fries or turkey fries are prepared quite differently there, such as sautéed with bacon (see last picture) or deep fried*. Now for those who still haven’t had chicken fries before, will you be more willing to try them now?

While beef dishes were supposed to be the strength of 謙記, I was quite disappointed by the thin slices of 牛頸脊 as I was expecting more intense beef flavor. 牛脷 were slightly better as they had the natural beefiness to start with, but were somehow very tough and chewy when boiled. Instead of being fluffy and bouncy, the 墨魚滑 was so dense that it must have been in the fridge for a few days after coming out from the blender. The goose liver flavor in 鵝肝餃 was predictably indiscernible, but rotten taste of the meat was disturbing. Fortunately I was able to cleanse my palate with the lime soda 青檸梳打, which turned out to be surprisingly refreshing and tasty .

Service was good but then honestly for hotpot, how much service did we really need?

I suppose I may come back to 謙記 if I can’t find any replacement to get more adventure hotpot ingredients. However, knowing how creative hotpot restaurants are these days in their offerings, I doubt that will happen.

一向大食的我倆, 點了7樣野, 哈哈食到捧住個肚走…

1. 酒煮西蜆鍋併四川麻辣湯底 – 一向都鍾意食酒煮蜆, 估唔到可以用黎打邊爐…個鍋一送埋檯, 香氣四溢, 蜆肉亦很嫩很新鮮, 好大隻…麻辣湯底亦唔錯, 夠香夠辣, 不過我就唔係太敢由頭到尾係呢邊烚黎食, 都係蜻蜓點水式點下d辣就算…


2. 本地手切肥牛 – 好好味, 脂肪分佈好平均, 牛肉切得有少少厚度, 咬落有口感之餘亦充滿濃郁的牛肉味, 如果唔係叫左其他野食, 真係好想叫多碟黎食…


3. 雪花肥牛粒 – 原本對呢個好有期望, 點知反而口感同肉味都唔及手切肥牛, 我覺得 “厚福館” 的肥牛粒做得比佢出色好多…

4. 日本螢光魷魚 – 好得意, 原本細細隻, 但係一烚起黎個身會立即變得脹卜卜, 裝住滿滿的 “羔” (其實唔知係咩黎), 如果烚得太耐, d羔更加會走晒出黎…d羔會有少少腥, 不過味道又幾特別, 唔怕腥的話值得一試…


5. 澳洲雪白帶子 – 唔使講, 夠新鮮既一定好味, 而且好大隻, 好似出面珍寶帶子壽司的size, 好滿足…


6. 腐皮牛肉卷 – 係金菇牛肉卷同腐皮牛肉卷之間揀了後者, 估唔到味道咁好, 厚厚香脆的腐皮, 包住用免冶牛肉搓成的涵, 只要輕輕烚一烚, 加埋d湯汁一齊食, 牛肉味一樣係咁濃郁好味…


7. 四寶丸 – 有牛, 豬, 蝦同墨魚丸, 份量雖然小又細粒, 不過樣樣都好彈牙又新鮮, 認真好味…


8. 唐好菜 – 配酒煮湯底, 梗係寧舍好味…

好開心好滿足的一餐, 之前搵極都搵唔到, 搵到之後又唔肯定係咪呢間, 好彩最後我地都膽粗粗試左, 如果唔係就走寶lu…

In such a cold weather... it's great to try out some hot pot restaurant...Let's first talk about the venue. Ordered 皮蛋芫茜湯底, and 海中蝦 - $78 very fresh, but there were only five pcs.切牛肉 - it was OK, but portion was a bit small雲吞 and Pork balls - Too salty, there were so much 味精 Other vegetables - how bad can these be??服務 - not too good. I booked the table a week ago, and they couldn't find my booking, ended up I had to wait for an extra 10 mins. Besides, the waiter was just wondering around and wasn't helpful enough.

服務 - not too good. I booked the table a week ago, and they couldn't find my booking, ended up I had to wait for an extra 10 mins.
Besides, the waiter was just wondering around and wasn't helpful enough. Asked him questions like special of the day / price of the food, and he had to check with the senior for answers.


They also charge you $17 for the 醬芥, and another $5 per head for the tea.
May be I should have gone to 有骨氣


送了每人一件芝麻糕和芒果糯米糍 - taste quite good. Those were the best food of the nite.
