I am glad there is another great joint for pasta.Normally I dine at the one at Wellington Street but the pastas here are freshly  made hence they have a different texture and the choices are better here.On the menu, they have tortellini as well as soup pastas for lunch.I had the tomyumkung broth tagliatelle which I really liked because the broth was not too spicy or strong and the strands of pasta soaked the broth well.The meatball tagliatelle was also good because the tomato sauce was tangy so

Sheung Wan seems to have so many places to eat. I was in the area with boyfriend and friend as we were going to do some street photography on our day off so he let me choose where to have lunch.I wanted something casual, yet not overly pricey and yet have enough meat for boyfriend to not say we only eat rabbit food in Sheung Wan/Central and I was sick of always eating at Cali-Mex with him. Sheung Wan seems to have so many places to eat. I was in the area with boyfriend and friend as we were going to do some street photography on our day off so he let me choose where to have lunch.

I wanted something casual, yet not overly pricey and yet have enough meat for boyfriend to not say we only eat rabbit food in Sheung Wan/Central and I was sick of always eating at Cali-Mex with him. After walking around what seemed like forever while he shook his head at everything, we came across La Casa Bistro.

The restaurant isn't very big. There are a few tables and some chairs along the window bar table.


The menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. What they offer is mostly pasta and stew.

During lunch hour, they have an lunch set option. You choose pasta, pasta soup or stew and upgrade it to set to have salad, soup or drink.

Italian meatball and tomato sauce pasta ($78). My friend chose this for her lunch. You can choose from four types of pasta: tagliatelle, fettuccine, mushroom ravioli and ricotta and spinach ravioli. She chose fettuccine. The pasta was cooked to al dente. It was also fresh pasta. The sauce was rich. The meatballs were firm and meaty. There was a generous douse of hand shaved Parmesan.

Italian braised beef brisket ($98).  Boyfriend wanted meat so he ordered this. He could choose between beef or chicken. Beef to him was the obvious choice.  You could also choose between rice or mashed potato so he chose mashed potato. The meat literally fell apart with my fork. It was that tender.  Loved the braising sauce as it was rich with the taste of meat. Interestingly enough there was the addition of olives and it worked. Some how it enhanced the sauce a bit more. The mashed potato could have done with a bit more butter.

Chicken,  Basil and Mixed Vegetable Soup Pasta ($88). I chose this as I love adding pasta to my soup. Seeing this on a menu, it peaked my interest. You can also choose between  tagliatelle, fettuccine, mushroom ravioli and ricotta and spinach ravioli. I chose ricotta and spinach ravioli as in my mind  smaller pastas work better with soup. It's just easier to handle with a spoon. This was a fantastic and clearly from all three of the dishes, I loved this the most. The soup was rich and smelled fantastic. It was packed with a lot of vegetables, several pieces of chicken thigh and lots and lot of ravioli.  The chicken thigh was moist and tender. It was flavored with Italian herbs and appeared to be roasted. The ravioli was great. Like small little pillows of soft ricotta cheese.  This would be even better during a cold winter day where it not only warms you up but fills you up. The ultimate comfort food. All in one huggable bowl.

I  added $15 for a mocha latte but they do have self service free water in one corner.  It was ok but could have done with a bit more chocolate. But I wasn't really here for coffee anyways.

A wonderful little find in Sheung Wan. Inexpensive prices. Heartwarming dishes. Good portions with delicious tasting food. The staff was friendly and eager to explain what they were about. It seemed new and I will definitely be back. What was surprising was even boyfriend said he'd be back.

起初我以為是香港的餅店或甜品店供應!對比支叉,可見撻身頗長!
檸檬醬酸中帶甜,醒胃又不算甜膩,食落是好似加入砂糖的沙沙口感,個人不太喜歡!
 表面還有些果仁粒,香脆度稍遜!略嫌撻底較厚,質感略為濕腍!似是雪得太久而影響其鬆化度!
