The set dinner for 2~3 people is priced at $360 per person and it comes with a portion of Roast Piglet, 4 items from the main section and dessert.
Highly recommend the Roast Piglet and Clams with White Wine. The piglet’s skin was crispy and the meat was tender and juicy. The clams was just extraordinary! We finished the flavorful clams and the delicious soup in one go

We were told that the pork knuckle stew was made from a home recipe of the owner’s grandma! They serve a good portion of pork knuckle mixed with kidney beans, cabbage and other ingredients. The sauce goes very well with rice and bread.
We also tried fried bacalhau potato ball and rice with minced duck – table around us are having these so we thought we shouldn’t pass them up

The dessert was traditional Serrandura Pudding – tasted good.
I consider this a good deal – great food, reasonable price, friendly staff and free corkage.

點菜時要求5成熟,但出來的至少有7、8成熟。肉質不鬆軟,肉汁不多,而且脂肪比例高,佔了1/3塊牛扒,很多肥的地方也無法吃。

主業吃了一半,我們就要求店員送上甜品和餐飲,增取時間。甜品是杏桃乳酪蛋糕 Apricot Cheese Cake
香濃的杏桃味,酸酸甜甜,十分醒胃,但質感非常腍身,餅底濕潤,不鬆脆,像還沒冷凍到硬身的蛋糕一樣,口感怪怪,大家吃了兩,三口就放棄了。

I will tell you about the main dishes of the meal.

Most of the staff are quite helpful and accomodate our needs.

Foodwise everything is very average.

Seafood platter
American Oyster, Scottish Oyster, Crab, Scallop, Prawns.
Not much taste. Needs to be more fresh.

Seafood squid ink pasta
- the pasta was squid ink fetticine.

Overall the food is like a typical hk style restaurant in that the natural flavour of the food does not come out and the food texture is not that great.
Seafood can be a lot fresher.
The food is OK, but there is definitely a lot of potential for improvement.

其實今次係第一次正式食法國菜,真的用了很多時間用餐。每道菜都上得很慢,特別是主菜時侍應好像把我們的菜誤送了給鄰桌比我們遲來的情侶...導致我們的主遲遲不來。八點半入座,十點半都未食到主餐,中途我們都昏昏欲睡。幸好是情人節,覺得慢慢食也不錯,否則平時可能會不耐煩。而整體味道其實都挺不錯的,只有牛扒比較失望。
其後看見Groupon有平價,便覺得更不值,不過誰叫那天是情人節!!!

A complimentary house wine was served as we booked via table map... very nice for a table wine!

Starter: caesar salad + cream sauce mussels
Ceasar salad portion was kinda small... lettuce is very fresh n sweet
at least 2 mussels were "unopened"
... in general the mussels was fresh n the cream sause was just right

lychee sorbet to cleanse your mouth...

main course, i ordered the rib eye and partner ordered the duck leg. My rib eye was very good slightly insufficent of Truffle sauce i reckon. The duck leg on the other hand was a bit too salty for me n my partner..

desert is okay... no tiramisu tho..

service was quite good, environment was a bit noisy that night.

看似普通的一條長型麵包,非常高溫,明顯是剛剛焗起,
一陣香濃的麥味在空氣中徘徊著...

原味麵包微咸,焗得香脆,質感無比軟熟,
是少數令人回味的質素!

再以店方提供的醬滿滿的塗在麵包上,當中有鵝肝醬、三文魚醬及海鹽牛油,
鵝肝醬有濃濃的羶香味,但未必人人接受;
海鹽牛油不死咸,質地輕盈;
但我們還是最愛香草煙三文魚醬,質感滑膩且帶著鮮味,還附上迷人的香草味道!

海鮮拼盤內里以生蠔、龍蝦、帶子、蝦及翡翠螺為主,
當晚的生蠔是Pacific Rock及Smokey Bay,
兩者均沒有蠔殼碎,前者非常滑膩,蠔味淡;後者海水味及蠔味均較重,邊位爽脆!
龍蝦的蝦膏不少,唯略厭體積太小!
其他則沒有味道可言(是雪得太凍嗎?)

牛油果沙律則放得太多黑醋,令味道變得過酸;
沙律菜亦被弄濕,失去了應有的爽脆,牛油果只有數粒,下手不夠大方!

還以為餐湯是蘑菇湯,原來是栗子忌廉湯呢!
但湯的味道很淡,不咸亦不甜!

再以法國菜常見的雪芭清清味蕾,
唯雪芭質感做得太軟滑,荔枝味亦太甜,起不了應有作用!

沒想到在那里也吃到同類食物,而且開心時刻出品更濃味好吃!

安格斯肉眼扒肉味香濃,內里粉嫩無筋,味道甘香,吃得出是高質貨!
但不知碟上是油還是肉汁,賣相較馬虎!

法式燒春雞份量超大(是整隻嗎?)

一般來說,甜品環節總令小妹期待!
但這里的芝士餅可以說是淡而無味,再加上那個綠色的人工化奇異果醬,
眾親愛也感奇異...

餐廳整體服務細心,
以顧客的英文名字去稱呼,感到尊重;自擕美酒還不收開瓶費,讚!
但熱烘烘麵包過後,食物水準則好壞參半,尚有改進的空間...
以這個價錢(每人約$600多)來說,CP值較遜色!

幸當晚一眾仍能吃喝一番,

Refreshing! Better types of canned pineapples with fairly fresh vegetables. A pass!

Yes, it was hot!. Again, not homemade ones and nothing I would link it up with the passion for making it as so called a fine dining French restaurant.

Sauce was an "OK". The taste and texture of the pork chops were decently done.

Coffee

Again and again, it was nothing special but just an "OK".

Nothing close to a dislike but nothing can be linked up with the claimed “fine dining” at La Maison. Overall, an enjoyable lunch and price is reasonable. What an "OK" lunch which I would consider to come back again for lunch ONLY!

I ordered a medium Lamp Rack, I'm not a big fan of lamp. But this one is pretty good.

Overall, this bistro is pretty nice especially the seafood. By the way, we are allowed to bring our own fine without paying any extra charge.

I took my girlfriend here for birthday dinner.

Initially the reservation had been lost once over the phone, but staff were very attentive and helpful thereafter. The free corkage policy allowed me to take some decent wine and the restaurant accommodated me in letting me bring a Pomerol in for decanting several hours ahead of time.

The food was of a very good standard and excellent for the price. My girlfriend and I both had foie gras to start, and this was done to a consistency I appreciated (personally not over-keen on undercooked liver).

My girlfriend then had a mushroom soup which was good in texture and taste. The amuse-bouche had been a vodka and herb shooter which was interesting if not special. Palette cleanser of lychee sorbet was good and not too sweet, very refreshing.

For main courses I had the duck which was very decent, though not sure about the sauerkraut base as an accompaniment. My girlfriend had the Kobe beef which was outstanding, a medium-rare done to perfection, great texture and tasted fantastic, just what we had wished for.

After this we shared a dessert and cheeseboard. The cheeseboard was perhaps too unrelentingly strong - all four, even the Emmenthaler, took quite some nose (this suited my taste but not my girlfriend). The apple crumble was very good however, served at a nice temperature and very warming.

Total bill very reasonable for the level of food I throught. Staff were attentive with the pouring the wine. The ambience is curious since it looked a bit plastic when we walked in but it grows on you. There was a live band the night we went, which I had not expected, and made things a little loud at times. Also take some extra clothing since the small space is susceptible to the air con!
