For such a large group of restaurant, I really dont understand why Lei Garden MUST implement two sittings during weekend for dim sum.........................The first sitting is from 11:45am to 12:45pm, only an hour, so if you have a large group of friends, then you better make sure they all arrive on time and order dim sums ASAP, otherwise it will be very very very rush............................ The first sitting is from 11:45am to 12:45pm, only an hour, so if you have a large group of friends, then you better make sure they all arrive on time and order dim sums ASAP, otherwise it will be very very very rush............................

I have called the restaurant to find out whether 12:30pm booking is possible and also told the waitress that there will be a large group of friends including children but her reply was they ONLY have two sittings 11:45am to 12:45pm and 1:00pm to 3:00pm nothing else................

Then I told her that some of my friends have to catch up with their flight at 3:00pm so the second sitting is too rush but her reply was AGAIN they ONLY do two sittings....................


Why Lei Garden has such an inflexible booking policy???


Especially for a large group of friends gathering, how can they expect an hour is enough for so many people to read through the dim sum menus and place order, not to mention that if some friends want to order a second round or even dessert !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why can't Lei Garden not to implement the two sittings policy for large group of people say 10 or above?????

這天, 因為 女兒學校的 "校巴使用者會" 集會後茶敍. 事前沒予約的. 因為那天飲茶是自願性質 而且, 是臨時決定, 搞手認為, 人數不會太多. 怎料........只有幾位缺席......竟然 一行27大5小浩蕩前來. 搞手1030打電話到利苑訂枱 -- 有枱(lucky!) 本來我幫手訂枱的, 但搞手說只說幾句英語, 沒困難, 她可以了. 浪費了超過40分鐘....坐滿2圍大枱後, 剩下來的人分在小枱用膳. 不過原來只有2個媽咪和1個小孩要分枱坐. 這時, 我問職員, 他們可有小一點的椅子? 圓的, 沒靠背的也可以.........原來利苑有窄身一點, 有靠背的粉紅色椅子! 和紅色的椅子交換了5張後, 離奇地全員坐進了兩張大枱! 是32人!!!!!!!不算迫, 夾餸也沒有不便.
如果早點發現其實我們是32人的話, 我們會要求3張枱. 所以混亂也怪不得店方, 反而是我們七嘴八舌的....有點不好意思. (店裡職員雖沒主動建議換椅子, 但完全沒黑臉, 我們要換, 他們就拿來----好像收在比較遠的地方.)

終於點菜了 -- 點心only, 她們只想吃點心, 炒飯 或炒麵. 連燒味併盤也不想吃云云. (大家不是第一次來, 而且都是住附近的.) 職員很忙沒時間推介了, (另一個同校巴士會的人也是集會後來用膳呢 -- 十多人.)
我坐的一枱, 大家掛住傾偈, 點心由那位住了北京8年的太太選, 再由我過目 -- 例如她點4碟鳳爪, 我建議改一碟. 日本人真的很害怕鳳爪的, 我見過一位太太咬一口就嘔吐, (因為有人說, "你咬的, 不就是食指嗎?" .......唉~~~~!) 包點請職員計大人人頭, 每人一件.
點了什麼點心 ? 本影了相, 可惜我上載時不小心全刪除了. 要不然, 大家就可以看到一個大蒸籠裡 14個熱騰騰的叉燒包; 14件精緻的珍珠鷄; 14件蝦餃; 14件燒賣......另外, 將兩客煎帶子炒麵放在一個超大的碟子上桌也很震撼呢 -- 特別要說的是, 帶子味道很鮮甜. 烹煮得宜, 雖然每人只分了一小碗麵, 但廚師真細心, 帶子是一人可分一粒的. 不會出現有人沒帶子的情況.
如果說利苑的點心難吃, 或不太好, 那可能只是不對個人胃口而已. 利苑用料好, 手工精美, 恰如其分, 雖不是那種要用誇張的表情去說, "......人間極品..... " 但吃的人會感受到廚師是用心製作的.
至於甜品, 我坐的一枱點了6個芒果布甸, 另一枱點的時候只剩一個了. 焗栗子蓉西米布甸早已沽清. 大家只好點楊枝金露了.
利苑的芒果布甸用高腳杯裝的, 看起來蠻不錯, 因為看到有不少果肉. 不過我選了蛋白杏仁茶, 可能做得太急, 蛋白都是 "大大舊"的, 不太細緻, 不過味道不錯 -- 帶輕微苦味, 因為用了一點北杏吧. (那天吃完後, 我的輕微乾咳好了不少呢!)
大家都說雖然利苑比其他酒樓貴少少, 但全是上品, 所以很滿意呢!

栗子茸西米焗布甸 $24: 8分, 吃完飯, 已經好飽, 但沒理由不吃甜品, 就要兩個吧. 這裡的西米焗布甸份量不太大, 布甸面頭做到脆皮的效果, 用上栗子茸, 是沒有蓮蓉那麼甜, 但小弟還是喜歡蓮蓉多一點.

川貝龍利葉燉津梨 $28: 9分, 相對布甸, 更喜歡這個燉津梨. 燉的湯水, 一向是這裡不能錯過的項目, 是晚的津梨, 相當之潤, 不太甜, 加上川貝, 據講還有止咳除痰的作用.

整體食物是繼續保持水準, 吃得滿意. 服務也是態度誠懇. 或許來這裡不會有太大驚喜, 但吃回那幾樣心水, 怎也會在你意料之內提供令人滿意的食物及飲食經驗.

went to grand cinma to watch movie. called lee garden to book seats around 3pm. it has 2 section. 6pm or 8 pm. we book 8 pm. after arrive at 8pm, still need to wait for a while. we went to many lee garden restaurant around hk. we have confident on this restaurant. so we never think about other restaurant after we watch movie. the daily soup is sold out. i like the female staff, they wont keep pushing u to eat expensive seafood or so. some food need to wait long time. refill tea water very slow.

很奇怪利苑圓方店這麼多負評.我對它印象倒是頗好的.沒訂枱的話確是會被拒諸門外,這點要留意當日我訂了座,在門口等了5分鐘左右就獲安排入座.食物方面,點了:1. 紅燒乳鴿,滋味不俗,肉質也夠嫩2. 梅菜牛肉生煎包,出乎意料的好吃,梅菜香甜,牛肉有咬口,包面也煎得香脆,必食推介3. 招牌叉燒,半肥瘦叉燒很甘香,麥牙糖令到叉燒邊位脆脆地,必食推介4. 三層肉,即燒腩仔,味道不錯但這個在其他飯店也可以吃到,份量以其90元價錢來說也偏少5. 上湯牛肉球,很有牛肉味,陳皮味也很香,肉質彈牙其他點心還有蘿蔔糕,排骨陳村粉,蝦餃,燒賣,流沙包,紅油抄手等,質素也屬中上,而且圓方提供很長的免費泊車時間,最多可以拿六小時足夠一家人飲完茶四圍逛逛.

My friend wanted to go to a Chinese restaurant, so we booked a table at Lei Garden. We got in without waiting, but after we got in, we were only served with a pot of tea and didn't even get the menu. We tried asking the waitresses to take our orders, but they either walked away to serve other guests or continued ignoring us. We ordered 4 dim sum. 魚米餃 $21, 蝦腸$34 煎雞飽$25, 籮白絲酥$25.All taste good and fresh and hot enough. Nothing to complain.

At last, we ordered 蝦干肉眼根臘味煲仔飯$98. That is a portion for two people but definitely sure it is ok for 3 or even 4 people. The standard is for sure very good.

We are both very satisfied with the standard of food and reasonable service.

The food tastes good! but expensive. The sevices is ok.Maybe mother's day, only can reserve the table either 6pm pr 8pm, after reserve the table, they call me 5 days before mother's day and fax the menus to me. They request me to order first. There had not too much food can be chosen on that day.

We have visited Lei Garden in Elements for several times since their opening. The quality has been fluctuating especially when we ordered seafood related dishes.

Today we, a total of 7 people, went there at 8pm for dinner for sake of convenience as my son's family with young children are living at Kowloon Station. We were recommended by one of the female managers on choices of dishes, including steamed fish, weighed 18兩, which was supposed to be "fresh and swimming" according to price tag ($28 per 兩).

The outcome was disastrous. For my 30 years' experience in cooking seafood, I can't imagine a so called "quality" restaurant (with Michelin rating in other branches) would bring us a "frozen" fish to sell like fresh fish. The taste was just like metal and bile.

We called back the female manager for comment, attempted to voice out our feeling only (we definitely wanted a fair feedback). She answered, 'this was the only one left for you to order...' 'Oh, that's why' I thought. Yet the logic does not make sense. Is the coporation only aiming at clearing up the stock instead of customer-oriented service? How come at the first hand the manager had to recommend the near-expired "fresh" food?

The manager then brought the fish back to kitchen and asked the cook for comment. However, the manager's gesture and attitude reflected her thought: we were playing tricks. Two minutes later she returned and said the fish had "no problem at all". But she initiated cancellation of the bill for that fish. That was another illogical move! We never asked for cancellation yet we only expressed on their dishonesty. Obviously from their point of view, we seeked for Jetso only.

While we checked the bill, the pay for the fish was cancelled. We used the credit card to pay the bill, with an addition of $600 cash as "'tips". The female manager said with smiling face, 'oh please don't do that, 我良心過意不去, 我會睡不著". My son replied, 'That's your own business'. I understand her logic finally.

I would formally lauch a complaint to their administration. And of course, that would be our last visit.
