Starting off with a scallop salad as appetizer, then steak frites, and finally desserts! We leave with a happy and full tummy. We had our steak medium rare and trust me, it was good. Came in a silver plate, the steak was cooked beautifully in a bed of their very own secret sauce. The steak was juicy, flavorful and tender. And the sauce was very special and really good too! We have no idea whats in it, but it was creamy, has a buttery flavor and a hint of tartness. I am not a potato person but their fries were perfectly cooked. Came fresh and hot, it was skinny, crispy, crunchy and seasoned just right. I just couldn’t stop myself from eating them, and yes, I did refill my fries!

Made with choux pastry and filled with praline cream, the cream had a very nice consistency, it was thick enough to hold up the choux case but it wasn't too heavy and had the right amount of sweetness. Somehow we also tasted some hints of peanuts. The choux case was okay but it would be better if its fluffier and crunchier.

中午和朋友來了雲咸街上的法式扒房吃午餐。法文L'Entrecôte的意思吃牛扒薯條的平民餐廳,每家都有自己獨特的牛扒醬料.之前訂了座位不用等就可以入座了。餐廳寬敞明亮,樓上餐廳來說算很大。中午12點半餐廳只有1/3的入座率,人不太多。裏面裝潢走的是歐式風格,外國服務生非常友善熱情。我們點的是牛扒。這家餐廳中午做lunch buffet.就是說我們可以去bar臺那邊自助拿salad和甜點水果等等。品種選擇不算太多。主食大概有5塊牛扒和薯條。女生我覺得食物分量剛剛好,可能男生會覺得有點少。說回這幾塊牛扒,真的意想不到那麼好吃!!我們點了medium rare,上來的牛肉剛好三分熟。中間的肉暖而且呈紅色,多汁,配上他們自家出品的醬料好好吃喔!!!價錢也不算貴!值得來試試看哦!♥

主食大概有5塊牛扒和薯條。女生我覺得食物分量剛剛好,可能男生會覺得有點少。說回這幾塊牛扒,真的意想不到那麼好吃!!我們點了medium rare,上來的牛肉剛好三分熟。中間的肉暖而且呈紅色,多汁,配上他們自家出品的醬料好好吃喔!!!價錢也不算貴!值得來試試看哦!♥

店名內的"Entrecôte",法文解作供應"steak frites"/牛排薯條的餐館,但這店是與眾不同的,並不是獨沽一味的牛排薯條餐廳。Lunch menu 和 dinner menu 一樣,都有牛排薯條以外的選擇。Lunch 真的是超值,buffet 加main course 只是$148-178,加一是隨心的喔。

不加 main course而只吃 buffet的話$128,但我認為不值,buffet only的話,種類未夠多,在意大利餐廳裡吃buffet only就還可以。(題外話:想只吃buffet不加 main course的話,可考慮 Arts Centre 的Assaggio 和中環 Bistecca,款色多和吃得飽,很划算。)

要大特寫的是最有趣的 Fishes Terrine。Terrine是指「法式凍」,可以是肉類和蔬菜,做法是交互堆疊的把搭配好的食材放入陶罐中,然後再低溫烘焗,放置好一會後便可品嘗,如此複雜的製法旨在把美味濃縮。這個fishes terrine 由三種不同魚肉打成,味道很像小時候要扭扭扭再啪斷來吃的魚肉腸,但這個當然比魚肉腸真材實料得多!

過了幾分鐘後,牛排來了!在點菜時職員知道我們是share 食,因此沒有先把牛排放在桌上,就切成了好幾塊分上給我們了(所以我沒有拍到全貌了)。盛牛排的碟用上了傳統Entrecôte餐廳用的銀盤,有保溫之用;不過把牛排分上後只是用普通碟盛著,沒有這效果了。

Entrecôte 沒有規定要用哪的牛,但共通點是無筋的部分,確保質感軟腍。這裡的牛排選用澳洲西冷,牛肉味很濃厚,完全沒有筋,軟腍香滑,幾乎在口裡溶化。

手切幼身薯條都不會油膩很糊著口,沾牛排的秘製汁就更惹味,但可惜醬汁不是那麼充裕,我只好沾一點custard。醬汁是靈魂所在,混合了香草和牛油香(其餘十多種材料就不得而知了),不能闊佬的給你加醬,也是情有可原的。

如果我重來的話,原因必定是 steak frites和典雅的環境;稍有不足的是甜品的款式和漏了給我們麵包。訂枱可以用 table map,不過職員不太懂我的要求(因為想儲積分,我提醒職員要確認我的訂座,但他們支吾以對)。8折 coupon 又是一大誘因(不用印出來啊,環保d!),想試 steak frites 的朋友要趁早了

然後steak & fries 終於來啦,銀色碟上放好兩塊各砌成6件的牛排。待應會先將3塊放到你的碟上,再夾好多fries比你。然後另外3塊會於你快吃完的時候再給你,還會再加好多fries比你,如果你不拒絕的話。至於奶綠色的醬汁一般會直接「淋」上牛排上,不過我們要求分開上,因為怕會 「淋」得太多。

先試下就咁吃牛,唔唔。。。medium的入口都幾軟同juicy,medium rare的更軟。雖然都有燒的紋,但就如之前的comment所說無咩炭燒既味道,定係佢其實唔係炭燒?!再試一下跟醬汁一起吃,唔。。。醬汁是creamy但同牛一起又並沒有個種「好夾呀」既感覺,就是「都ok啦」既感覺。薯條好脆都幾好味,但實在食唔到兩round咁多。

最後我分多咗一舊牛比他,因為想叫多個甜品。點了Paris Brest,因為我記得openrice食評裡有人提過。上來時很漂亮啊!將它分開的時候發覺夾住cream的餅(定Puff?)好軟,食落去好似有少少感覺「放咗有D耐喎」。但個cream其實幾滑又不會太甜,好可惜兩個人都食唔晒,因為太飽食淨少少。

  Terrine為我最喜歡的一款,全因這裏的凍批是固體。老實說有時候吃到餡料綿如泥蓉那種質感我會受不了。這個分了啫喱、兩色肉凍及香草層,層層香味質感不同,感覺新鮮不死板。味道有點像小時候吃那種即食魚肉腸,不腥膩,橙色那層比較紥實彈牙。

  刁草青瓜Zucchini蕃茄沙律以及車厘茄沙律都是常見款式。三款均算清新,香草用量得宜,甜爽新鮮。說實話這邊的半自助餐選擇不是看過最多花款的,但總叫合味道。如果可以在每款前面加個名牌,清楚分明之餘。也不怕客人會誤選不吃或是有敏感的食物,簡單動作,雙方受惠。

  一碟盛得滿滿,牛扒看上去很小塊,其實全都是厚切。配上青綠得自然的醬汁,以及大量幼身薯條。整份吃下去真不得了,連我這個一向大胃的都感到滿足。單點的話份量會多近一倍午餐$180晚市$268。不過這樣配半自助沙律甜品吧,對我來說似乎比較划算,還是喜歡多種類的。

  牛扒每件外邊熟至微棕,有行行焦痕,香氣過人。中心保留未熟的嫩紅,血水徐徐滲出,量少,不腥臊,看上去大概是Medium Rare至Medium的程度。質感也是介乎於此,不過沒有任何筋位。油香不重,脂肪部位少,主要為實肉,富嚼感又不過韌。重點是蘸點大廚的獨家秘方醬汁,酸中充滿牛油香,香草清感稍為減膩。聽說製作醬汁時其他職員要迴避,難分真與假,但可知醬汁是何等重要的祕寶

  單看叫價,不便宜,看到成品,不清楚的會覺得性價比極低。單點甜品共有七款可選,但不需多想,直指這份Paris-brest。原因?單純是因為甜魔媽媽曾經指L'Entrecôte De Paris的出品為全城最好。沒有多加質疑,不是因為完全信任一個人,但這成為最佳助力。

  話說Paris-brest的車輪形狀實是起源於19世紀開始舉行的單車比賽,因其能量滿滿,不少車手會以此補足能量。凝視著那鋪上杏仁片,灑上糖粉的泡芺……嗯,確實頗像車輪。外甜脆,內綿潤,泡芺層更有少許蛋香。榛子果仁忌廉澎湃得很,快要湧出來的感覺,唧花整齊。香氣自然濃郁,稠身豐厚,甜度不高且膩感不大,不妨一試。

  最後來杯黑咖啡作結,以那份苦味消去積下來的油份膩感。一向如是,不加糖不加奶,那才合我心意。有朋友問過,生活已經有很多讓人覺得苦澀難忍的事情。為什麼連吃喝這些該享受的時間都要嚐苦?只是個人口味,不太清楚箇中意義,經歷尚淺也是其一原因。若然人生苦不堪言可以走下去,吃喝再苦的也能受得住吧?

This place was just like any bistros you'd find in France. Classy and without much fuss, the restaurant was nice and cozy, and to my surprise, it was packed with French speakers that you would hear more French than English and Chinese combined even.

Once settled, we were first served some whole wheat baguette that was apparently sourced all the way from France. The baguette was not warmed, which was as expected as this is usually how they are served in Paris anyway even at places like L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon. The bread was airy and chewy. The clams was cooked in a tomato broth. They were cooked just right, soft and not at all chewy. But in fact the soup was the highlight, as it contained the condensed sweetness of the clams and the freshness of the tomatoes, which you just couldn't bear not to soak it all up with the baguette.

When the steak was prepared, they served us from a silver plate containing the steak on a bed of its secret sauce, and another with the fries. A portion for one contains around 6 slices of the filet, and you normally would be served 3 slices at once, and they refill your plate after you are done. Though because we were sharing the food, they immediately serve all the meat in two portions, of which the huge size of each plate would have been enough just to fill both of us up. So luckily we had ours nice and hot.

The steak on its own was lovely. It was extremely tender and the natural flavour of the meat was very strong, given the fact the steak was hardly marbled. While I was looking for some crispy beef fat edges and found myself slightly disappointed, the secret buttery green sauce has worked the magic. The sauce was silky yet not awfully thick and overwhelming, and its hint of tarty finishing helped balance the heaviness, leveraging the natural flavour of the meat without intention to over-season it.

I seriously didn't have much expectation on the fries after feeling sad of finding soggy, greasy ones too often in Hong Kong. It turned out the fries were another bonus as it stayed crunchy even after it cooled down. Not being a huge fan of carbs, I honestly could not leave my hands from picking on the chips and soaked it with the amazing sauce. So I ended up emptying the whole plate... of fried potatoes... i swear the last time I did that was like years ago and i actually felt so contented even my tummy got doubled its size. Absolutely finger-licking good.

Though I'd prefer the texture of egg fettuccine  to more a little more chewy, having it mixed the secret sauce was no doubt nice and creamy.

For dessert, we chose the Chocolate Moelleux and the Paris Brest. The Chocolate Moelleux was not exactly like those molted ones you normally find practically everywhere nowadays. Instead, it has the edges crunchy and delectable, with its centre being gorgeously rich, gooey and indulging. Serving with a beautifully light vanilla custard, it was simple yet truly irresistible.

The Paris Brest was filled chandilly hazelnut cream, and for some reason I could taste a bit of chestnut as well. The cream was incredibly fluffy and light, but the pastry itself was a little too doughy to my liking. It'd be nice if it's a little crunchier and airier.

Nevertheless, it has been a splendid experience dining at L'Entrecôte de Paris. I love this type of casual dining experience. You won't want to miss out their steak and frites if you are as well a beef lover!

在下雨的星期天, 中環人少得可想而知, 但用餐便較方便, 因為不用訂位。和朋友們約在這餐廳食個晚餐, 全晚就只有大概7, 8檯客。餐廳就只是有standard的套餐, 來到扒房當然便是點了個medium的牛扒餐($258), 包括餐前面包, 合桃沙律, 牛扒及unlimited refill的薯條。合桃沙律 - 味道可以, 但不會特別突出Medium的牛扒 - 侍應先把一半的牛扒分別放在我們的碟上, 再放上了薯條。牛扒的肉質也是鮮嫩的, 熟的程度又是剛剛好, 但可惜卻少了炭香的味道, 而侍應又硬要把它們的special sauce放在我的牛扒上。special sauce 以是cream和其他香料煮成, 但加上牛扒一起吃, 我又不見得很match, 它的味道又很搶戲, 配上牛扒一起食, 其實我已分不清牛扒自己本身的味道。加上它是cream sauce, 令人十分滯。可不可以分開裝起那special sauce, 我要食的時候自己點就好。薯條更是普通 - 感到自己在食麥當當的薯條, 把肚子填飽就好。這時便更想la vache的鴨油薯條了。外籍侍應又多是在行行企企的, 不會主動加水, 也對

Medium的牛扒 - 侍應先把一半的牛扒分別放在我們的碟上, 再放上了薯條。牛扒的肉質也是鮮嫩的, 熟的程度又是剛剛好, 但可惜卻少了炭香的味道, 而侍應又硬要把它們的special sauce放在我的牛扒上。special sauce 以是cream和其他香料煮成, 但加上牛扒一起吃, 我又不見得很match, 它的味道又很搶戲, 配上牛扒一起食, 其實我已分不清牛扒自己本身的味道。加上它是cream sauce, 令人十分滯。


可不可以分開裝起那special sauce, 我要食的時候自己點就好。

薯條更是普通 - 感到自己在食麥當當的薯條, 把肚子填飽就好。這時便更想la vache的鴨油薯條了。

外籍侍應又多是在行行企企的, 不會主動加水, 也對的, 這餐廳不收加一服務費, 難怪沒有服務可言。

現在香港已開了不少這樣單一價錢的實惠扒房, 沒有賣點很難站得住腳, 而我實在看不出還有什麼可能再來的理由。

The difference is that the steak at L’Entrecôte De Paris Restaurant comes with a famous secret recipe sauce.
It costs HKD268 and you get a green salad with walnuts followed by steak and unlimited fries which are delicious with the green sauce.

The drinks and cocktail menu were good with a nice choice for rums, whiskeys and vodkas.

The restaurant décor is simple and elegant with a 1920s glamorous feel. Tiffany lamps surrounding the ceiling help accentuate the atmosphere.

Had the rum which was pretty easy drinking with cubes of ice swirling in the glass and I really liked it because the rum was not too strong.
As well as this one I would have chosen Mary Pickford because it has grenadine a classic French drink ingredient.

The steak was soft and juicy oozing with red juice which was simply delicious and the green sauce was really addictive because it had a garlicky creamy taste with a sour note that made it moreish.
After pouring the sauce on the fries, you won't be able to stop eating the fries however you have to save your appetite for dessert, but saying that I could not resist and had a bit too much.

Dessert:
This was my first Paris Brest and one that I will use as standard.
Paris Brest is a French dessert, made of choux pastry filled with a praline flavoured cream created in 1910 to commemorate the Paris–Brest–Paris bicycle race.
It has a circular shape to represent the bike wheel.
This dessert became popular to riders before the race because it is high in calories.
I remember a few years ago that they were really popular but not many places had them at the time.

As you can see the filling was beautifully piped and it was thick enough to hold.
Although the praline filling was thick it was delightfully silky and not too sweet sandwiched in between the delicate choux pastry that was light and springy.

On the plate was roquefort, roblechon, comté, mimolette and tome de savoie.
My favourite was the orange coloured mimolette which was flavourful because it was sharp, full bodied and had a nice semi hard texture.

Trimmed Entrecôte Steak with its famous sauce

We ordered in medium rare.

The quality of the steak was tender and lean. They had great texture, served sliced and pink in colour, but the famous lime green sauce couldn't nourish its level. The sauce taste something like beurre blanc tho.

Fries - not chewy nor hot when served. Could have been a bit crisper.

Seems the steak and fries were cool down quickly. In avoidence of the deterioration of steak quality, recommended to serve like what "La Vache!" do. Hit the rest up on customer's own table while they want to grab a slice only.

Conclusion

"La Vache!" is way much better than here.

The quality of L'Entrecôte De Paris HK branch even not better than a HK-based steak frites restaurants: "W's Entrecote".

Also, please do improve the services.

Bread was served badly as well. I know French's bread and toast are in a hard form. But here is just too hard to munch. It hurt my os

I had my birthday dinner there with few of my friends. There were 2 choices in the menu, salmon and the classic steak. It was not my first time there, and the steak is always the same quality, normally well tasty. It was high quality steak which is juicy, well done according to our request. We also ordered bottles of wine which recommended by one of the waiter. It was tasty and decant price. 

After that, we had apple pie as dessert. The apple pie comes with vanilla ice cream. The apple pie is homemade, I personally love apple pie and tried alot, and I must say this is one of the best I have ever had.
