有想過吃這裡馳名的花膠,不過價位$500起跳,最後沒點,直接跳去主菜的扒類。首先是
美國肉眼扒($360),點了兩份打孖上,都是要的五成熟,成品肉嫩有牛味,感覺是對辦的但又未至驚喜,主要是牛扒切得較薄,吃來口感與肉味均顯得較遜色。扒類標準配菜是西蘭花、蕃茄及焗薯,反而算不錯,我全都大量進食來填肚,特別是焗薯,還會有專人按要求添加酸忌廉、煙肉脆及洋蔥粒,來豐富口感及滋味,是幾飽肚的,最後也沒吃完。

樂意特色牛柳($330),相比其他牛扒,主要特色是添加了牛油、煙肉及特配醬汁;然而幫手分割的CEO將牛油撥在一邊融掉了,煙肉也沒有分,所以大家試的不是設計的原味;不過也沒關係,其實淨食這份較厚的牛柳,大家都覺得滿足感大多了,感覺不錯的!

羊架($3XX)則是意想不到的超級大瀨,兩件羊架中,其中一件竟附有一陣腐肉味,店方說是蘇格蘭特色,但大家一致認為仲臭腐乳、臭豆腐,簡直可以用中人欲嘔來形容之,不好意思,我的那份未咬已經吐出來了! 既然廚房堅持羊肉沒有問題,我們也沒有追究退換,但侍者後來又說不好意思要請我們吃芝士餅,這到底是怎樣一回事呢? 實在令人費解。

芝士焗菜花($45)是繼西蘭花之外,全晚我第二樣放心大吃的食物;還有
Steak cut fries($45)也廣受歡迎,比主菜牛扒更快地清光了。

來到甜品環節,大家對芝士餅興奮一般,反提議免一客甜品算了。其實這裡甜品餐牌很豐富,選擇超過廿款,不過當晚有點「止蝕」心態,最終點的不算多,先是
美酒煮班戟(2位用/$140),兩位用關係,成品分兩碟上,味道還不錯,班戟軟滑得來橙酒味很突出,不過也有食友嫌苦。

至於
火焰櫻桃雪糕($120),其實完全見不到火焰的過程,還幸味道算是不錯,雪糕很夠香滑、車厘子也有濃香酒味,但以此份量都實在相當貴食。

焗雪山(2位用/$120)終於不是雙份上檯了,而是大大的件,侍者又淋酒又放火去燒,場面頗為吸引,我也拍了片給大家看看燃燒過程! 蛋白製的雪山經酒精燃燒後,的確多了一份頗為吸引的酒香,不過中間的雪糕質素平平,整體來講只是OK。


 
今餐連上一項免費甜品以及85折優惠,七人吃的平均消費也要$347.5,不算很貴但一點值得的感覺也無,難怪那麼多劣評.... 不過無論如何,總算完成一個又一個心願,並寄望下次再一起吃餐好的!

食物水準不對辦已叫人好失望。
最令人氣憤的反而是結賬之時,竟多收$130。是無心之失?是有意?真是天曉得。但一晚賬單也不過十來張,竟也出錯,太不可思議。
這裡收費其實與Grand Hyatt Steakhouse差不多,但質素真是天淵之別。如果讓我再選一次,一定不會來這𥚃。

gillardeau 不如以往,city super's 的比它更好

蘑菇蟹肉湯同鮮蠔湯用相同的白湯底煮,味道很淡,蟹肉蠔肉尚算新鮮

肉眼扒要的是 medium well, 來的卻是 blue rare…

花膠扒份量不少,差唔多足一隻,不過同等份量上次是由一隻大花膠分作幾份,兩者的味道和質感是天壤之別,最令人失望的餚汁,還記得上次我們吃得一滴不漏,今次即使相同顏色,一試便知不對辦

侍應明顯是臨時拉伕(當然上次相談甚歡的還在),下單的記得不清不楚, 上菜的又因坐位拆細而多次送錯

諷刺的是上次只有數枱客人,今次卻是全場爆滿

星期六12時來到, 只有兩三台客, 生意只是一般, 餐廳環境很懷舊點了一客黑椒漢堡扒和烤牛肉西冷,端來了一籃滿滿的麵包, 內有兩面脆脆的多士, 和有外內軟的麵包, 要留肚食主菜啊.再上了一個雜菜湯, 味道不過不失.主菜烤牛肉西冷牛肉烤得剛好五成熟, 有香香的煙燻味, 又夠juicy漢堡扒很有牛味, 又鬆化,再來甜品和飲品, 這個set lunch 真是很令人滿足和完滿.這個價錢有這樣的質素,真的很不錯呀.

apple pie 出色, 阿媽讚口不絕! 老闆話係幾十年的recipe, 佩服, 跟雪糕, 一凍一熱, 很配合.

3人食了兩個招牌SET DINNER 加單丁叫的咖哩飯, 約$500 位.
可以經濟一點就 perfect 喇... 食物係很好, 感覺上, 又未去到呢個價錢.

出返告士打道, 又塞在車上, 卡位上的客人又望返住我

  成日搭巴士都會途經此店,一眼看上便知是老店子,在樓上舖仍依然站得住腳多年,心想自有個人之處。  今天兩個傻人竟然來到此店午膳,店外照例貼滿各大報章、雜誌的推介廣告。  二時後的食客不是太多,侍者安排了卡座,先看菜牌,種類不算太多,最引起我注意的反而是花膠扒,花膠西煮應很特別,但自己對花膠興趣不大,還是點了個肉眼扒及沙律二人分享。  肉眼扒要了個全熟,沒有醬汁,100%純味,正是我想要的,扒在全熟炭燒下仍不太靭,物質固然十分講究,加上濃濃的炭燒味,十分出色。  凱撒沙律加點牛油果有點特別,醬汁沒有太濃的蒜頭味,自家調校,頗特別也不錯。  老店子比起現在林林總總的西餐廳,出現點老態,也沒有個人之處可言,加上侍者的過份「細心」,有時令食客有點窒息,留點空間給食客總是好的,我們今次連招牌也沒有細心觀看,便給「細心」的侍者為我們介紹下匆匆點菜,令我留下一點點不快的印象。

冬至將至,中式食肆大多人頭湧湧,為減少排隊之苦,午餐選擇於Louis Steakhouse午膳。標準lunch set含餐湯一客,配以數款餐包。是日餐湯是粟米忌廉湯,暖暖的,實為一般水準。主菜串燒牛柳伴以炒飯,牛柳與牛柳之間夾上青紅辣椒一同烤製。既然是steakhouse,扒類食材給予人的期望理應高一點,可惜是牛柳的味道及肉質同樣達不到期望的水準,唔夠juicy唔夠腍,或許是午餐的價錢support唔到使用更佳的食材吧!餐後有甜品及餐飲,連加一約一百元一位,尚算合理。

This restaurant is rather interesting because the Chinese run it and they serve proper western dishes apart from the Fish Maw. The restaurant is rather historic to me, especially inside the restaurant, it feels like the Beefeater restaurant in UK.
The staff looked like they’ve work there all their life too, and most of them are all middle aged.
I was very impressed by their diverse menu too, ranging from Asparagus with hollandaise sauce to Crepes Suzette.
For my first visit, I decided to sample their food, so chose the set meal for two, which includes oysters and boiled prawns, basket of bread, mushroom and crab soup with cheese, fish maw, steak, apple pie and a drink.

The table was laid with red and white chequered tablecloth and formal cutlery, vase of carnations, and a small candlelight.

Louis Steak home made fish maw with special Chinese sauce:
After reading Jason’s review, I used the bread on the sticky fish maw sauce, and it was wonderful.
The fish maw itself was quite thick. When I used the knife on it, the fish maw texture felt dense.
I would have preferred the fish maw to be slightly softer.

Fresh crabmeat mushroom soup au Gratin:
This was baked, so it was very hot, there was thinly sliced mushrooms on the top with melted cheese.
The crabmeat was nice and fresh, but as for the taste, I only remember the cheese and burning my mouth!!

U.S prime rib eye steak:
Had this cooked to medium, it was served with a jacket potato with a choice of sour cream, bacon bits and chives.
I had my potato served with plain butter.
The steak was good, the only complaint was the fatty rind on the edges.

Apple pie:It looked like an ordinary apple pie, but the pastry was so light, buttery and crumbly.

Taking the bus from Central to Wanchai was rather inconvenient but this place proves it's worth the hassle.

This is a very old style pub style restaurant. The set lunch was absolutely delicious. Not only that the food was great, everything came in such large portion!

1) A whole bowl of bread! Both soft and crispy!!!
2) A large bowl of soup that actually tasted filling, not those typical watery soup
3) I had the curry beef and I had to stop myself from finishing the entire dish
My friend had the sirloin steak, which was apparantly always good
4) Dessert was this cream cake kind of tart, which was not too sweet, just right.

If you are on a diet, don't come here, because you will not be able to stop eating.
