悠悠假期開始,聰明的我,當然不會去西貢、離島,就揀去西營盤,高街,本來訂St bart, 假期無set lunch,經openrice訂枱,mark時間都要等,所以放棄,其他餐廳都是意粉pizza, 揀此間有些不同。全日早餐(約$138),细蛋,白雪雪,BB嫩滑發光,切開蛋黃鮮橙色,明月半遮面,雖不是流心,又是另一種滋味,雜菌,烤香,菌味濃香,小牛肉腸無研究,如無表明身份,不察覺牛肉。煙肉摧,不太燶硬或油浸浸。個人不喜歡食薯餅,吸收油,外面脆熱氣,與麥記差不多,茄汁豆例牌罐頭。芝士火腿烤多士(約$108),天上見月,應白的白,應黃的黄,地下黃土,黃金芝士覆蓋多士,多士邊脆脆,中間軟绵绵,夾着咸咸一香火腿;對大量芝士,無好感的我,都食完,無剔開,效果接受,大堆薯條襯底,味道跟麥記差不多,多咗質感,無感空虛。當日陽光普照,坐低食個lunch,悠然寫意,行上般含道再落上環,都未有汗流夾背,仰望半山貴價樓,貪求思慕只因痴。罪過,罪過,佛誕應自我齋介,忘記咗, 喃無阿彌陀佛!

芝士火腿烤多士(約$108),天上見月,應白的白,應黃的黄,地下黃土,黃金芝士覆蓋多士,多士邊脆脆,中間軟绵绵,夾着咸咸一香火腿;對大量芝士,無好感的我,都食完,無剔開,效果接受,大堆薯條襯底,味道跟麥記差不多,多咗質感,無感空虛。

當日陽光普照,坐低食個lunch,悠然寫意,行上般含道再落上環,都未有汗流夾背,仰望半山貴價樓,貪求思慕只因痴。

罪過,罪過,佛誕應自我齋介,忘記咗, 喃無阿彌陀佛!

這晚的法國餐體驗之旅是由法國駐港總領事官邸的總廚Carlos de Sousa當主角,介紹Metropolitain的法國菜。由法國大廚介紹法國菜,肯定比門外漢專業許多。利益申報:Carlos與這餐廳沒有業務上關係,只是認識餐廳老闆,不是要替餐廳賣廣告。他說,在香港由法國人開的法國餐廳,沒有幾間的老闆他不認識,他是選一些認為較好的介紹給我。Metropolitain是Brasserie一類的餐廳,原意是指釀啤酒地方,但在法國賣啤酒的館子也會提供餐飲,變成餐廳,特點是氣氛較輕鬆自由,供應的菜式也較簡單和平民化。話雖如此,這餐廳也有較高級的法國菜,價錢當然也不那麼平民化,具體內容,可看影片,在此不重複了。由於片長關係,本來是一段的影片,但因上載不到Youtube,被迫分成上下集,而這裡又只能放一段,要看下集,勞煩各位再到Youtube搜索了。

The reason why I gave it such a low rating is because I believe the price is not worth it at all. I paid $135 for two pieces of lamb sausages plus a mountain of seemingly out of proportionate fries. I would have expected a better quality from this restaurant because of the price and of how it branded its own shop. As you can see, the sausages were burnt- and it did not look that appetising; on the bright side, the sausages tasted quite good. As for the salad, it tasted alright; but since it advertised itself as an “avocado tuna salad”, I would have expected more avocado and tuna - instead of only being served 3 pieces of avocado and less than 2 teaspoons of tuna. I almost thought I was eating pumpkin tuna salad- as you can see there were more pumpkin than avocado.

So if you ask me: “Would I come back next time?” I doubt because there are much more better western restaurants out there that makes you feel that what you pay is worth what you eat.

It used to be one of my favourite restaurants, but my recent experience is very very disappointing. Ordered the same food as I always do : lobster linguini and foie gras but it’s completely different. The lobster isnt even a lobster, and its rubber hard, the pasta is tasteless. Maybe they changed the chef? Will never go back again.

La French Pizza $98 (Score:8.5/10) 因為係前菜類別,所以預期份量唔會係美式Pizza. 但諗唔到原来連餅皮都完全唔同, 可以話係有薄餅嘅形 不過內裡係法國人嘅料
首先係餅底,非常創新 用上炸春卷皮 茶上汁醬然後鋪上煮好咗嘅洋蔥 加煙肉. 最後,放上切片豬肉腸. 雖然洋蔥有汁但 春卷皮仲保持住脆口. 酸酸甜甜加上煙肉香 食落非常開胃.

Roasted Pork Chop W/ Braised RedCabbage $188 (Score:8/10) 主角煎豬扒, 上碟一睇有我哋上次係Isqaure 高級餐廳食嘅水準 而且豬扒厚身. 一切就知道係優質靚豬,肉汁跟住刀邊流出. 先食一口豬, 非常鬆軟 有肉味. 再食一口紅野菜, 酸酸甜甜 事先醃過, 有啲似德國豬手嘅酸野菜 但保留著野菜本身嘅甜味. 除咗 紅野菜做伴碟,還有GrilledPotato 係小薯仔 簡單用鹽煎香, 點返啲肉汁一齊食! 正! 另外, 還有鹽同黑椒另外上 比你用嚟點豬扒, 試咗點黑椒 可以帶出豬味.

I guess I should've listened to the other negative reviews here, because they turned out to be all true! First, the food was just a hot mess. The escargot was somehow very flavorless and bland. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare, and it came out well done. I asked (nicely) for it to be remade, and the manager gave me the nastiest look before she said that I had asked for

First, the food was just a hot mess. The escargot was somehow very flavorless and bland. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare, and it came out well done. I asked (nicely) for it to be remade, and the manager gave me the nastiest look before she said that I had asked for it to be well done. Seriously? I was at a loss for words. 

At this point, I had lost my appetite and we just hurried through the rest of our dinner. Thanks for ruining our evening, Metropolitain. You've managed to showcase Hong Kong "hospitality" at its "best."

This restaurant is a prime example of a typical Western restaurant located in HK. Masked behind a supposedly authentic french menu is a team of wait staff that would make McDonald's look like the Ritz Carlton. This restaurant is a prime example of a typical Western restaurant located in HK. Masked behind a supposedly authentic french menu is a team of wait staff that would make McDonald's look like the Ritz Carlton. At its helm is this Filipino woman (I am not sure if she's the owner or the manger) who, I believe, should never be put in any sort of customer facing job, unless customer attrition is its goal.
Throughout the entire night, she was not just inattentive, but also rude, condescending, and acted like she was doing US a favor by being there. We asked for salt, as the main dishes were all underseasoned. Her response included an eye roll, before she gave us a lecture on how it does not need to be seasoned. How dare the four of us question her? Later in the evening, we asked a refill on several occasions, but were promptly ignored every single time. When confronted about it, she raised her voice and told us that we weren't her only patrons (there were at most 4 other tables), and that we needed to wait. Yes, Ma'am!

Onto the food: As I wrote above, everything was bland. And, no, I am not one of those people who carry a bottle of salt wherever I go. Was it French? I suppose it was french inspired, but having lived in Lyon for a few years, I can't say it is what you would find there.

坐在近馬路的座位,未有進店看到裡面的裝修,不過遠觀已感到有法式館子的樓底高和摩登設計。餐廳食物和服務亦不錯,下次也會再前來。想試試地道法式午餐,可考慮一下這店啊!

The service, in particular, was shockingly bad. Requests for things like bread plates were ignored, and the wait staff was surly, condescending and rude from the moment we sat down to the moment we left. An overall unpleasant experience.
