While there has been some complaints regarding the service of this restaurant, I decided to give it a try as we all have our "bad days"... after all, I should see it for myself...
The restaurant is in fact located in a location where you do not have much traffic and far away from the city concrete forests ... After parking the car and within a decent 5 mins walk, we had arrived to this nice restaurant. Sadly, this is all I can share that was exciting about this visit... then, its all downhill after... just like the road that led us back to the car park after 10 mins...
Due to the Covid-19 social distancing policies, we can only sit 2 people per table, so, we have booked 2 tables for a party of 3-4. When I booked, I requested for a window table and the lady confirmed that 1 table will be by the window and another one, which shall be side by side, will only have a part window view but it will still have a good view. Fair enough, I understand its difficult to arrange 2 window tables side by side.
So, as we walked towards the reception desk, there were another couple right in front of us. When they were seated, they were led to a table that was not by the window. As the restaurant area is quite open, we could see that they had requested to change to the window table, which was immediately accommodated positively by the lady receptionist.
Then, we were asked for our booking after the couple was seated. So, after giving my details, we were then led to 2 tables which was next to the bar area, in the middle of the dining area.
Obviously, I was not happy and the lady reception just gave me an excuse that (1) the other couple booked first, and (2) she only said the window seat is arranged on best effort basis.
What disappointed, frustrated and angered me about the whole incident was that the lady just tried to make up excuses that the other couple booked first. If they had, why weren't they seated in the window table at first and had to request to be moved? Second, she just tried to cover herself by saying window tables are only accommodated on a best effort basis. She clearly explained and described our table arrangement when I made the reservation.
While I did not have the chance to sample the food (which I don't think I would have missed much based on other reviews), it is a total put off with such sub-standard and unprofessional service in this kind of restaurant. Absolutely and totally unacceptable. Readers can review other comments and we all know why people are coming to this restaurant... if it wasn't for photos, IG, FB, ambiance, there would be many other choices...
To be fair, the restaurant manager, Billy, tried to smooth things out but sorry, hope the restaurant will take this as a lesson. You have to be really bad to mess things up right from the start but they seemed to have achieved this without much difficulty.
