Based on the Top Tables 2011 review by the HK post, I tried this place for lunch with my hubby. Based on the Top Tables 2011 review by the HK post, I tried this place for lunch with my hubby. Here's our verdict:

Pizza OK

Chicken Wings OK

Minestrone - didn't like they put sausage in it

Rocket Beetroot - no enough dressing/seasoning, few cubes of beetroot, and 4 strips of radish bowl


Service - Poor. There were 2 staff front of house, 3 tables occupied before us. he staff cleared the table but did not wipe the table. My hubby had to go up to the bar to get the menu. Took them 10 mins to come and take our order. Not impressed when I saw a basket of squid was left sitting on a table in the corrioder on my way to the restroom. For the latter, we won't be going back again.

Restaurant was Cosy and warm

Good food and Good Service.
Feels like a family restaurant feel , and location does not seem busy as most places in hong kong

2) Beetroot and Rocket Salad was Very Fresh and a good blend of sauce great for Being a Starter cost $80

3) Pizza Prosciutto di parma Pizza are with thin and crispy crust, also good serve hot the egg was just right the pizza topping are fresh and sauce was very good add $15 for the additional topping egg. cost $145


4)Lasagna Could see the the layers of pasta and meat and they stayed separate and do not "merge" together into a mush. That good point this lasagna variations lasagna without bechamel sauce seems like something missing , its overall a good mix and balance of a dish cost $120


5)Panna Cotta (from Italian cooked cream) did i mention how good the panna cotta tastes—i will appreciate that it was done nice very fresh cost $55 .

Friends recommended must try snacks i.e. fried chicken wings & french fries. The Minnestrone soup also tasty with adequate vegetables and medium taste. Pizzas are with thin and crispy crust, also good. Great place for a Sunday brunch as you can park your car just outside the restaurant

Panchetta。這個薄餅最特別之處是焗到八成熟的時候會在中間會打一隻意大利蛋,然後再進火爐再焗一焗,吃之前要先把蛋搗爛再吃。不用擔心蛋汁會把薄餅批底變淋,拿上手一大口就吃掉大半蛋汁的部份,蛋味很濃烈,配上火腿,相當新奇又好吃。

Warm green salad。雖說是Warm salad,但我又不覺得是暖,只是稱不上是凍而已。裡面有一塊塊烤過的南瓜,很綿很甜。Chicken wings。雞翼看起來炸得有點焦,不過吃起上還有一點點肉汁,一點也不乾。配上特製的蛋黃醬,好好吃。炸魷魚圈同樣都有配蛋黃醬,不過裡面再加了點檸檬汁,酸酸的。French fries。薯條是幼身的,味道和普通薯條沒差,只不過他們說這裡薯條的賣點是不會彎曲,多長的都是挺身。

Minestrone。我愛喝紅湯,但Minestrone通常都加有紅腰豆,所以我不太喜歡,可是這個Minestrone並沒有豆,而且蔬菜量非常多之餘,是以雞湯做base的,所以比用牛肉多了一份清新感,好喝。

意大利粉可以自由配搭,分別有Angel hair, spaghetti, linguine, fettuccini, penne和fusilli可以選。

Cabonara長通粉。白汁意粉界的代表,一出場食友們都嘩嘩叫,單看顏色賣相已經幾近滿分。意粉軟硬度適中,有嚼勁。醬汁帶點黃色,因為廚師沒有下太多忌廉,原因是怕會太膩太漏,但醬汁的濃稠度仍然很夠,緊緊的包著長通粉,蛋香忌廉香煙肉的鹹香配搭均勻,實在出色。後來我們還多點了一碟Cabonara Spaghetti,我覺得這個Cabonara配那一種意粉都很好。

Bacon & onion in tomato sauce。我身邊愛吃意粉的朋友通常都愛吃白汁,很少會愛蕃茄醬,而我就沒有特別的喜好,間中都會想吃蕃茄醬來增加胃口。這個蕃醬略嫌偏酸了一點,而且再加一點點辣的話會更惹味,現在只有煙肉跟洋蔥就不太突出。

Aglio Olio。整晚我最最喜歡就是這個pasta。這個意粉非常簡單,只是有蒜片和浸過橄欖油的辣椒而已,可是那種香味非常獨特,而且我本身就非常愛吃蒜頭,看到大量烤過的蒜片,配上微微辣紅椒粒,非常開胃,所以到後期很飽的時候也能吃不少。

最後的兩款甜品是tiramisu和雜莓panna cotta。有食友說之前來過的食友稱讚這裡的tiramisu幾乎是暫時全香港最好吃的,這裡的tiramisu沒有加酒,我很欣賞這一點,至於marscapone的部份,口感香濃順滑,是不錯的。另外雜莓panna cotta有藍莓、紅莓和士多啤梨等等,panna cotta部份加入雲呢拿籽,入口軟滑,不過上面的士多啤梨醬就一般,不夠甜又不夠酸,帶不出panna cotta的味道,如果能夠做到鮮榨就當然更好。

最後喝一杯Earl Grey,非常滿足。

無疑這裡的pizza水準真的不錯,不過我還是更愛吃這裡的意大利粉,所以一定會再來的。

雖然住在中西區二十年,但對西環這港島極西的地區,還是近年才開始探索。從卑路乍街一路向西,就到達充滿舊式唐廈,工廠大樓的另一洞天,耳邊除了夾雜着各處方言的街坊閒談,還有間中的電車叮叮聲,一切像是回到了記憶中的那些年。但正如香港是個多元的城市,市區發展的種子也逐漸在這老區落地生根:而最新的一顆種子,跌落在海傍的爹核士里,這條以前港督名名的街道。Piccolo Pizzeria & Bar是這條小食街的最新成員,夾在老式士多和名人甜品店中間,新與舊交接卻不覺突兀。店子少少,卻坐滿了下班來輕鬆的白領,也許一班人用手抓薄餅,吃意粉,就是最佳的放鬆方式。這晚和一班食友獲邀來試菜,也是經過考試苦難週之後的最佳調劑。開放式的廚房擠逼,卻設有以紅磚砌成的薄餅爐,溫度長期保持三百五十多度.雖不是燒柴枝,但這烤爐相當像樣,是對出品有要求的薄餅店的基本設備。有別於很多薄餅店,這裡只設有11寸大小的,而且餅底夠薄,份量不會很大,兩三人點一客也不成問題.看著廚房內的店員搓麵團,放醬料,不一會那成品就送到我們枱上,保證新鮮.第一款Four Cheese用上四種芝士,有半溶時拉成絲的mozzarella,和幾款比較濃

看著廚房內的店員搓麵團,放醬料,不一會那成品就送到我們枱上,保證新鮮.第一款Four Cheese用上四種芝士,有半溶時拉成絲的mozzarella,和幾款比較濃味的意大利芝士taleggio,scarmoza,gorgonzola,濃濃咸香隨熱氣四射,味道充滿層次,加上薄脆中帶少許煙膩的麥香餅底,整體一點不會因只用上芝士而感覺沉悶,個人很愛.

然後是Panchetta,配料包括煙肉和番茄,特別之處是在烤到差不多熟時打一隻雞蛋在上面,再輕輕烤至蛋白凝固,吃之前才將蛋黃打均來吃.

看似簡單的配搭,入口先嘗到蛋白和蛋黃的香甜幼滑,然後是煙肉的焦香煙韌;最後輕輕咬破烤番茄,鮮甜汁液噴射而出,酸甜的平衡掉蛋黃的膩,加上出色的餅底,好吃得令人想流淚.在禽流感肆虐的今天還能吃到安全又美味的半熟蛋,實在難得.

最後一款是Prosciutto di Parma,是把風乾火腿和火箭菜舖在薄餅底上一併吃.火箭菜先剪去椗部去除草澀味,爽脆極,和粉硬的parmesan成一反比.風乾火腿的香味不太突出,可能是那餅底麥香太重,妹仔大過主人吧.

Warm Green Salad包括料多種蔬菜,口感爽脆清甜,加上那醃煮過的shallots,為沙律增添一份惹香.底層藏有慢煮的南瓜,軟度不足香甜有餘,再軟稔一點會更好.

青綠過後是香口食物,一客六隻的Chicken Wings炸成深楬色,表皮炸得略脆,上面的粒粒香料相當惹味;雞肉更是充滿肉汁,香噴噴的一點沒有炸過的痕跡,應該是生炸的吧?炸得入味而不油膩,六隻收這個價錢,實在是超值!唯一不足是配著普通沙律醬,不能吊出雞肉的鮮味,如果配上別的檸檬沙律醬,又或者酸忌廉,應該會更好.

突然放下的一籃炸薯條,侍者說是因為有雜誌贊過好,所以特別讓我們試試.看見它狀似老麥的幼牛油薯條,本來沒甚衝勁去試,拿起一條吃卻覺得外脆內軟,而且薯味十足,是少見的優質薯條,很快地被我們一人一條地清掉了!

最後的是Deep Fried Calamari,炸醬夠薄,墨魚圈多汁彈牙,不用點醬汁已經很好吃,反而一抹檸檬汁更能帶出其鮮味.

湯我們嘗試了minestrone,這傳統的意大利菜湯很多地方喝得到,煮得出色的卻少之又少.這裡的改以雞湯作湯底,所以湯頭比較清徹,味道也沒牛湯的咸,這讓更能突出蔬菜的鮮甜;湯也比較像stew的豐富,這時如果來一塊麵包吸收湯汁同吃,就是美味的冬日暖胃好選擇!

這裡的pasta可自由配搭醬汁和pasta,我們嘗試了三款醬汁.

Amatriciana以煙肉和洋葱汁加進番茄醬同煮,配以螺絲粉,是頗入味的,但與其餘兩款比較之下較黯然失色.

Aglio Olio簡單以浸過辣椒橄欖油的蒜片炒成,條條意粉都均勻沾有油光卻不會過膩,蒜片香濃帶點滴辣,入口先是蒜香然後是把整個口腔都麻掉的辣,非常惹味.如果吃不了太辣的可以點少辣,但我相信我再來的時候,重口味的我應該會點多蒜片的版本.後來師傅出來和我們分享煮pasta的心得,也說這是幾款中最難掌握的一款,因為它沒甚汁液,很容易太乾太油膩.這晚吃到的各方面都很適中,我們都很佩服師傅對火候的掌握!

要數最喜歡的,必定是Carbonara.醬汁顏色比別的更加呈金黃色,是這裡用比較少忌廉,單以蛋黃將汁液收獻,但條條意粉依然沾均醬汁,每口都是濃烈的蛋黃香甜和跟隨的白酒餘酸,加上汁液不會過多,所以整體絲毫不油膩.加上有點點切碎的脆煙肉,為意粉增添咬感.

第一次配搭的是長通粉,雖說通粉內部可黏住醬汁,但掛汁能力仍然不及條條分明的意粉,所以我們後來追加了一碟,感覺更是香濃.這意粉是想不到的美味,說是這晚的亮點絕不為過!

這裡的甜品選擇只有兩款,卻大有來頭-因為甜品師傅是按照同集團的星級餐廳Cepage的做法製作的,一脈相盛的做法,加上即點才做最後工以保持新鮮,味道相信會有一定質素!

高身的是panna cotta,奶凍內藏密麻麻的雲尼拿籽,入口也是香草味比奶甜味突出,感覺非常真材實料,加上質地幼滑如絲,實在沒甚麼可投訴的地方.唯一是表面的果醬味道帶點曖昧,如果能夠甜些或酸些,味道更加鮮明會更好.

矮的是tiramisu,吃前才加上可可粉,保証不會因雪過火而吸濕變霉.梅竹相間的mascarpone cheese和吸滿咖啡的ladyfinger,煞是吸引!侍者建議要一匙探到底,才能品嚐各層的不同滋味-感覺是非常的驚喜:mascarpone cheese打發進大兩空氣,裡面滿是細緻的氣泡,入口香甜得來很’彈’很有生命力,是從未吃過的質感,相信它們應放了不少時間在打發芝士上,才能達到這獨特的質感吧!

ladyfingers沾滿咖啡,味道卻吧是很濃很’啡’,加上沒有加入酒,感覺總是欠了些甚麼-是那一抹醉人的獨特味道嗎?又或是我太貪心,企圖在這近乎完美的tiramisu上挑骨頭?無論如果,這兒童適宜的tiramisu,如果你不是嗜酒如我的話,一定會覺得很滿意.

吃得飽飽的,呷一口醒神的peppermint tea,讓溫暖散佈全身,為這帶點涼意的海徬增添一點溫暖.大家吃得滿意,也不忘對熱鬧招待我們的L(Earl L),和準備這晚盛宴的kitchen crew,表示謝意-不用特意走進廚房打攪他們,只雖對著開放式廚房的窗戶,直豎姆指就成!

非常多謝餐廳的邀請和安排,讓我知道離家不遠的西環海徬也能找到極高質素的pizza!這裡的Set Lunch無論價錢和食物選擇都非常非常吸引,是時候安排一下何時再來試試看了!

這夜一共試了四款薄餅,這裡焗的薄餅餅底夠薄身,烤得鬆脆並帶點咬口。而批邊比餅底較為脆口而不死實,這口感正合心意,非常討人歡喜。先吃的是Four Cheese,簡單的四款芝士包括Mozzarella,Taleggio,Scarmoza及Gorgonzola鋪面烤烘,半融狀態的芝士甚吸引,入口芝味濃郁。

另一款素吃的Vegetariana,簡單的用了茄子、青瓜、青椒、蘑菇等材料,味道不是想像中的清淡,反過來每一口也吃到蔬菜的鮮甜。蔬菜沒有因烤烘後變得乾身,像茄子般仍然多汁軟稔,清甜加上菌香,甚為誘人。

最後是四款薄餅中,個人認為款最好吃Panchetta,送上時,賣相令人驚喜,真的沒有想像過吃薄餅會加上半熟蛋。薄餅焗起後於中間加上一隻半熟蛋,上桌後把蛋黃刺身再混勻而吃,蛋汁滲滿薄餅表面,煙肉帶點油脂鹹香,加上鮮甜的蕃茄,配搭完美,多麼渴望早上起來能吃到如此美味的雞蛋薄餅作早餐。

Aglio Olio,簡單的以蒜頭,加上辣椒及橄欖油來煮,麵條入口蒜香味濃郁,辣味期後慢慢從口中滲出來,於口中留有餘韻,那種感覺令人回味。加上麵條煙韌度恰好,彈牙而不會太硬,邊吃邊從心底裡大叫好吃,我的味蕾不停呼喚著要再來嚐一遍!

Carbonara,味道跟常吃的卡邦尼有點不同,沒那種很creamy很膩滯的感覺。這裡卡邦尼的醬汁用了一整枝白酒濃縮至一小杯而成,意粉入口先吃到煙肉鹹香,繼而帶出點點微酸。空心的長通粉的把醬汁鎖在內,每一口吃起來都十分惹味。

最後還有甜品,雖然只有兩款,但每款同樣精彩。Tiramisu,Mascarpone芝士打得十分幼滑細膩,帶點奶香。底層的手指餅蛋糕層口感濕潤,甜味與咖啡酒味平衡恰好,非常美味,即使獨自享用一杯也不會甜膩。

This is a newly-opened casual Italian place in the developing strip of Kennedy Town bars and restaurants. We stopped in for a midweek dinner, having been told by friends that the food was good. The report was completely correct -- this place has friendly staff serving a high-quality pizza-and-pasta type menu, accompanied by excellent wines. It is a real find.

We had a nicoise salad to start -- the ingredients were fresh and flavorful; after it was gone I wanted more! But no fear, the main courses were coming. The spaghetti with clam sauce was cooked just right -- al dente -- and the clams were cooked in a lovely wine-flavored sauce. (They are not the little Italian "vongole veraci," however -- they are the slightly larger "Manila clams" available in local markets. A bit tougher, but still very good.) The pizza was excellent -- one of the best in HK. Thin, crispy crust, tangy tomato sauce and some excellent prosciutto on top.

As an accompaniment, we had the house red. What a wonderful surprise that was -- a little-known French regional wine that was first-rate! Clearly the owner/manager knows his wine -- this wine was chosen for the pleasure of the palate, not for its brand value. It's the kind of thing every Hong Kong diner really wants, when not trying to impress the mother-in-law -- it has great taste and great value! (Sorry, but I can't remember the name -- the third glass kinda washed that info away....)

We'll be going back to explore the menu further.

The only small niggle is that the prices overall were not cheap, as might be expected from the out-of-Central location. But they weren't outrageous, either: dinner for two (including the wine) came to $550
