me and my family went here for the lunch buffet to celebrate my bro's birthday.we've actually been here for several times already before, but it's been pretty long time since we last came here.we're surprised to find that a waiter still recognizes us! and he's very friendly ;]a drink is included for everyone. we ordered two glasses of red wine, and the rest of them with fresh orange juice.i'm not an expert on wine, but i think the wine's pretty smooth and easy-drinking B)what i like about this p

i'm not an expert on wine, but i think the wine's pretty smooth and easy-drinking B)
what i like about this place is that its lunch buffet serves a variety of foods and many different cuisines, including chinese, japanese, indian, south asian, italian, french, american, and praps some other western cuisines (Y)
i first went for the cold dishes, i'm pretty impressed with the king crab legs, it's very fresh and meaty, altho it's probably not the season for crab legs right now ;3 and the shrimps were very fresh (: the salami's quite good too. but then i think the mussels were just so so

i can't really tell what exactly is the problem but the smoked tuna was just not perfect :-/ and the japanese buckwheat noodles
and sushi were okay, they're both fresh, esp the sushi.
i saw something called parsnip panna cotta on the appetizer section. it's a delicate little thing, and sounds pretty special. however i don't really like the taste of it x(
for soup, there's asparagus soup. the taste of asparagus is quite strong. and i had a bread roll too, it's a very nice one ;)

they're really good! the sauce's just right, with some mushrooms and onions stuffed together with the lobster meat
up to the mains, i had chinese food for the first round. to our surprise, they served peking duck, and it's pretty popular

the peking duck's good, we all love it ;> and the dim sums were quite delicate, and the fillings were pretty rich in those dumplings (:

for roasted ham, i must say the gravy's very appetizing, with a bit of sweetness, and it goes really well with the meat ;]
other dishes such as fish fillet, chicken leg, shrimps, duck, etc were finely cooked, they're all lovely ;D and i really remember that the beef brisket was very tender and you tear the meat apart very easily
there's yorkshire pudding available too, and the kids loved it ;)
and for the mashed potatoes, i love the creaminess of it, and it's very tasty indeed ;P
for the indian section, i really have to mention about the kathi rolls. there're just some kind of indian pancakes. i enjoyed watching the chef frying it, and each serving is big @w@ for the curry part, both lamb and fish curry were not bad, and i also loved the chicken tandoori and the basmati rice, they're both very flavorful ;D
i missed out the laksa since i'd decided to move on to desserts, but my dad said that it's not very spicy but it's pretty flavorful, so i reckon it's not bad either ;)
but before that, i had a slice of cheese with crackers. to be frank, i expected more types of cheese available for the platter, so i'm not that happy with it as i was with the other food.
for desserts, my favorite is the panna cotta and the portugese egg tart, i really adore them =P

the desserts were really delicate and it just lifts your mood when you see them in front of you XD
there're also freshly cooked strawberry souffles and crepes in orange syrup. for the souffles, i actually thinks that it somehow tasted a bit like marshmallows lol but it's one of the kids' favorites x) and the crepes in orange syrup's pretty okay, i think the sweetness of the syrup's just right, and when the crepe absorbed some of the syrup when cooked, it really gives a wonderful taste (:
last but not least, i had a double haagen daz ice cream scoop in a cone. you can either have your ice cream scoops in a bowl or ice cream cones, and there're many toppings available too, and i'm sure every kid will love this ;D
lastly, we get to order coffee or tea, i had a cappuccino, while others had latte and lemonade. the coffee's pretty okay, we're all satisfied with it.

in overall, i really liked this place. the place is very comfortable, with a panoramic view from the top floor of the hotel, altho it's not very high, it's still a gorgeous view.

今天中午和兩位同事去Riva吃他的超值自助餐。 從價值的方向來看,真的是超值因為同事有Prestige Card加上一個250HKD discount coupon!風景一流,可以想像晚上格局和氣氛可以讓Riva單靠此就獲勝。甜點選擇蠻多的。Haagen-Dazs冰淇淋我吃了四球(三種口味)。除此就很一般了啦。點心勉勉強強沒啥驚喜。跟何況同事在一個裡面發現了一根頭髮!!! 經理來道歉說明點心是外包的實在是對不起。送了些香檳。滅火功力不錯而且我們又不是難搞的食客。不排斥再來一次看看是不是只是今天沒選好吃啥。一開始吃了太多點心之後就沒肚子空位啦!

傳統尼斯沙律的最主要材料,是油漬鯷魚及鮪魚(Tuna)。家庭式的做法,可能會用罐頭鮪魚?Riva Style 則是把新鮮鮪魚用 carpaccio 的方式處理,薰熟表面,切成厚片,上放沙拉葉、馬鈴薯、甜椒、蕃茄。鯷魚的酸度與鮪魚的鮮甜,組合成為理想的 appetizer,成功引起食慾。

Panfried Foie Gras with Pommery Mustard Sorbet and Roasted Parsnips served with Red Cabbage Jus 香煎鵝肝伴芥末籽雪芭及燒白甘筍配紅椰菜汁

芥末籽雪芭?聽到也覺好有趣吧。這裡的香煎鵝肝煎得剛剛好,筋也全挑去,十分嫩滑,不像一些小店硬要把皮煎脆,到頭來令到鵝肝變靱。用白甘筍托底,比起用多士多一份精緻。紅椰菜汁有少少酸,但酸度已比第一道菜的油漬鯷魚低得多,酸度剛足以襯托鵝肝的油香。

低溫煮挪威三文魚伴扒新薯及車厘茄配石榴醬及雲呢拿橄欖油汁

中文與英文名字都好長。食物的層次也確如名字中提及的材料一樣多。在 Gaddi's 午餐嚐到的是 Lightly-smoked Salmon,這裡的是 Low Temperature Cooked。恕我味蕾遲鈍吃不出兩種三文魚的分別,不過 Riva 在三文魚加了點點海鹽及胡椒,把三文魚的鮮味加倍提升。

慢煮/低溫煮的意思,是把橄欖油蓋過三文魚,用攝氏50-70度的油溫浸熟魚肉。好處是可以保持三文魚的嫩滑肉質及粉紅色調,同時保留了三文魚最原始的營養價值。順帶一提,挪威三文魚(Petuna Ocean Trout)是香港 Amber 及澳洲名店 Tetsuya 愛用的慢煮材料之一。

烚煎法國白雞胸及雞腿伴香草麵包餡及露筍配鵝肝泡沫汁

「烚+煎」雞胸的結果,是雞胸嫩得不像印象中的雞胸,質地好細緻,沒有丁點「黏牙」感覺,雞皮卻是脆的。我最愛吃雞皮,所以雞皮一定要脆!雞腿伴香草麵包餡=搓成一餅,難怪我吃到了有雞味又像澱粉質的 side dish。

高雅的presentation,sugar on the rim,都不及黑醋糖精彩。吃甜品,我常常是吃一半就停下來。可是這個甜品其實不甜,是酸中帶甜,甜中又有少少芝士的鹹,我最喜歡反傳統的甜品

Riva 午飯時間尚有 buffet lunch 供應,星期二的中午都有9成入座率,估計自助餐的質素也不錯,下次有機會再來試試。

3) bread - nice and of western style.
4) main dish - lamb. i ordered "medium" and it was great - not overcooked at all. tender and juicy. each plate had two pieces. didnt like the side-dish though but already full after finishing just the lamb.
5) dessert of mousse cake - light and fresh.
6) mocha - not too sweet and still retained the taste of coffee. nice smell but not hot at all. quite disappointed.

The price of each set dinner is $498, with a 50% discount due to being prestige club member, we paid much less.
Heard that the menu will change starting on 13th july. price will be $700 sth for each set but maybe still worthwhile to try later.

其實前菜和甜品都不算有太多選擇
但勝在味道好 質素也較高
前菜的菜式 例牌必有 例如魚生, 沙律, 湯, 芝士, 海鮮等等

今次的魚生稍為遜色 不及上次來吃的新鮮 但是也不錯
而我最喜歡它的海鮮 新鮮到不行
通常都有龍蝦仔和青口
龍蝦仔的膏非常多 讓我忍不住口吃完一碟又一碟

而它的cheese plates 也不錯
總共有五種不同味道的cheese
愛吃芝士的我簡直愛不釋手

而Main Course 我選擇了海鮮扁意粉
海鮮有大蝦, 帶子, 青口
大蝦和青口不錯 但是帶子就真是不太ok
有急凍雪藏味 只吃了一隻便算了
Source 很香 而意粉也很彈牙
整體很不錯 只是帶子真是一個敗筆呢

而這裡的甜品 我覺得是不過不失
沒有太大的驚喜 但也不是難吃

這裡的環境也很好 可惜昨天太大霧了
甚麼也看不到呢

因老公今睌想到有望到有海景的餐廳,,不如上來這裏!我們二人差不多九時才到,只有數張枱,我們被安排在近左手面的窗口枱,夜景當然美吧。我們一坐下,立即送上一籃各式各樣麵包,看了一輪menu,因不是太餓,只叫了一客US Pork share 食,出餐速度驚人,同一時間叫的House Red 和 House White 各一杯都未到,已出個大盤了,個waitress 話廚房不太忙吧!但我就覺得唔洗快成咁?件US Pork 一點一不香,似是 frozen得耐,雪到無晒味,反而D伴菜茄子及一些瓜仔都幾好吃,但有一pat mash potatoes 就好行貨了。而House 嘅紅和白酒都唔錯,$65一杯,沒有再叫甜品。
