The biggest impact is obviously the generous portion. Each ingredient I added has been given a big dose, filling up the bowl and very satisfying. After the first bite of my leek, I was surprised at the freshness of it. Old leek can be very chewy but these taste like the ones I bought from the wet market for myself. They have 5 types of soup base to choose and I tried something that is new to me, a smoky spicy flavor with the amateur level of spiciness and it is quite unique.

哈哈,譚仔米線食得多,但係譚仔三哥就未試過。早前同契妹講開,佢好奇怪我從未食過,所以今日同契妹去完薰腳就去左三哥試下喇。我地大約九點九到,人唔多,唔洗等位。我點左豬腩、竹笙、魚腐,湯底係三哥酸辣四小。契妹點左豆卜、腐竹、竹笙,湯底三哥酸辣二小。再加兩個小食:麻辣汁皮蛋及重慶口水汁雲耳。我落完柯打一陣先醒起大鑊我唔記得要求米線淋D,因為食開譚仔如果唔講有時真係會煮左都好硬。但三哥呢間又唔會喎,無講D米線都煮得夠淋身。黎到第一樣就係先試下個三哥酸辣湯底,我個人喜歡四小多個二小,因為飲落四小個辣味淡D酸味重D啱我鍾意食酸嘅口味。我都同意契妹所講三哥酸辣好味過譚仔酸辣,因為個辣味帶麻辣,多一個層次,而且可以按個人喜好揀辣度。餸方面其實大同小異,不用多講。至於小食方面,三哥的皮蛋、雲耳都可以揀不同醬汁,我地皮蛋揀麻辣汁,雲耳揀口水汁。不過我個人覺得個麻辣汁唔多夠味,唔麻唔辣,但個皮蛋本身搶返D分因為個心雖然未至糖心但都軟軟的好香好滑。至於口水汁雲耳就算合格,但仍然可以重味返小小。

If you're at Tam Jai Samgor, you're here for the Yunnan specialty, 過橋米線 (Bridge Crossing Noodles), which you can either keep tame or transform into something fierce depending on your choices. Everything from the type of broth, toppings, and spice level can be customized at this chain of restaurants.

At its core, the dish is a mellow thing - milky white chicken broth and benign mixian (rice noodles), not too dissimilar from the Vietnamese dish of pho ga. For a few honkies extra, you can take the broth all different places, adding vinegar, sichuan pepper corns (the numbing kind) or white pepper. Should you choose the upgraded broth, you're given an option of 10 spice levels which start at a whisper (10) and finish with a full on temper tantrum (1).

What I love about Tamjai Samgor is that while you can opt to add a ton of flavor, you can keep it relatively healthy. Additional toppings ($6) include plenty of meat options, but also include chives, several variety of mushrooms, lettuce, tofu, and bean sprouts. For about $50, one can curate a relatively healthy and more than filling bowl of food. And despite the addition of a bit of chili oil, the broth eats cleanly, and not overly slick or fatty (unless one chooses it to be).

Such a bargain comes at a cost, for eating here is not the most comfortable of experiences. Service is abrupt. Tables are cramped. If you're careless enough to leave a foot or elbow in the aisle, expect to get it gruffly bumped into. Lingering is not encouraged. You pay at the front and get out before the queue of hungry diners revolt.

While most of the waitstaff don't speak English, there is an English menu available which you fill out by ticking the desired options. So how do Tamjai Samgor's noodles speak to me? With plenty of comportment and disdain. And I love them for it.

星期六朝早返左半日工,身為三哥粉絲嘅我晏晝就同男朋友去食三哥!我嗌左貢丸腩肉三哥酸辣米線,三哥酸辣比酸辣更惹味。男朋友想食蕃茄湯底,但番茄湯底要三點後先有,所以嗌左糊辣米線配佢鍾意食嘅炸醬~因為清湯太淡啦,但又唔食得辣~ 大土匪雞翼,必食! 但每次兩個人都無得平均分haha~唔辣架,但好惹味!尖椒皮蛋都正,唔係好辣,但下次先嗌啦太飽lu~伙計手腳有啲慢,但都服務態度都幾好~可能多客啦🙄😕

大土匪雞翼,必食! 但每次兩個人都無得平均分haha~唔辣架,但好惹味!

尖椒皮蛋都正,唔係好辣,但下次先嗌啦太飽lu~

伙計手腳有啲慢,但都服務態度都幾好~可能多客啦🙄😕

一直都唔係太食米線, 加上唔太鍾意麻辣 (每次我都只係會叫酸辣湯底), 自己1個就1定唔會簡黎食...但身邊總有同事朋友係譚仔忠實fans....哈哈, 對, 我都係上年先至知三哥同唔係三哥有咩分別 lol.....同事們提出食譚仔, 向我推介三哥酸辣, 話真係好好食我就試下... 第一次有得簡辣度, 唔敢太辣, 所以就簡四小辣每次叫譚仔都好麻煩XD 因為我比較麻煩三哥酸辣, 墨丸腩肉, 四小辣, 走芽走九, 少米(其實我仲想米爽, 不過好似真係太麻煩所以冇叫XD, 好彩呢間OK, 唔太林)黎到了~ 試飲一啖湯, 真係好好飲!!!! 唔怪之得同事極力推介~四小辣唔太辣, 下次可以再上XDo!!! 三哥酸辣有炸菜, 估唔到幾夾, 如果有得加叫, 應該都唔錯tim~!D送就同平日一樣, 冇咩特別好定唔好.但個湯好飲到一個位係我差唔多飲曬全碗湯......雖然好似好唔健康, 但我唔係成日食譚仔... 算啦哈哈!食辣野最好就係配番杯凍檸茶少甜~溝淡番D味 Yeah~我第一次Enjoy食譚仔, hahaha!!下次可以再食~

譚仔的名氣雖大,其實由它開張至上年為止,我都只光顧過一次。第一次食譚仔是多年前跟母親在屋企附近的譚仔食午飯,當時不知譚仔最出名的是它的麻辣,點了清湯,被它的重味精嚇怕,加上座位都很迫,就一張圓桌,坐滿三三兩兩搭枱的人,也就沒有再去的動力。但自從上了轉了新工作,其中一個同事頗喜歡食譚仔,機乎每星期也會食一次,所以才有機會有食譚仔。說實在,譚仔的送菜選擇比平常的車仔麵檔選擇少得多,就只有約十款配籵可選,而當中就只有兩款我比較有興趣的,所以之後我每次來都是點這兩個送。試過它的清湯味精很重,所以事隔多年再光顧,我就試試它的麻辣,由於不知道它的辣度如果,我就試試三小辣,辣度我覺得是我可接受的水平,辣得口腔有辣味得來,但又不會吃得太辛苦。雖然以前也吃過麻辣火鍋,但食過這裡的麻辣才知道從前食的麻辣火鍋其實是辣而不麻的,因為我點的三小辣雖然辣度我能接受,但試過才知道其實我不喜歡那種麻麻的感覺。而米線麵質算是頗有韌口的,至於我每次都點的那兩款配料就是豬膶和墨丸,豬膶不會煮得過熟,還有一點煙韌的口感,墨丸都很彈牙。而因為怕了它的麻辣,所以之後也有點它的的酸辣試試,我發現我比較喜歡它的酸辣,辣度雖然不及三小

而這間分店更是同事口中的「貴版」三哥,就是價錢比沒有裝潢的一般三哥貴上一兩元,但裝潢和侍應的態度都好了,而同事說這裡的米線份量亦比較多。
