Coffee is not worth ordering, considering it's price, fresh milk isn't even used (UHT milk) and badly frothed. Oh well, it's just a small coffee machine. Had the creamy scrambled eggs on sourdough and it was good. Overall, felt it was overrated. Couldn't get the whole French hype...

This place needs to be blacklisted! My friend booked his bday dinner here with all of us and when we got there we were told that the restaurant has closed today for renovation! They expected us to eat at their bar area which only offers snacks with smokers around!We ended up having to leave and to find another restaurant on a Friday night in Central for a party of 12!

Tartine (meaning “open toast” in French) offers a wide selection of toppings with cheese. Apart from the French cuisine, the restaurant also specializes in offering ‘western-style’ food for a wider choice. The restaurant has a separate drink menu that offers a wide sellection of vintage wines          from affordable prices to premium selection. One can also enjoy ‘home-designed’ cocktails-spirits mixed with various drinks. Right now, the              restaurant is promoting Marie Brizard, a French spirit, during the happy hour. This means one can enjoy this premium wine at an affordable price. The  happy hour is from 6pm-8pm, every evening. Tartine serves FREE canapés, non-stop, from 8-10-adding extra fun to your enjoyable experience.
The restaurant is in the process of renovating its third floor to accommodate more guests and bring in the extra romantic vibes. They will also start the much-awaited ‘Gueridon service’ whereby the food (e.g. steak tarter) is cooked, finished or presented to the guest at a table, from a moveable  trolley. Not only will the diners get an opportunity to choose the ingredients they prefer in their dish but also it will be a novel gastronomic experience for them. The service will also include serving of cocktails.
We went for the "Raclette Dinner' and instantly fell in love with the delectable food and WARMEST hospitality. It turned out to be an admirable

experience. One bite of the sourdough bread (with herbed butter) and there was no need of a refined palate to understand that the bread was freshly baked with a home-made flavour.  The entrée, served on the table, was oozing with raclette cheese on a heap of baked potatoes….huge
in portion yet very delicious. 
The colourful, fresh and crunchy salad, served alongside, was loaded with nutrients. The pommery pepper, in the mild dressing of extra virgin oil, added a very special savour to the salad. The cold cuts of salami and ham complimented the raclette dish perfectly. Apparently, the restaurants orders fresh, organic meat very often and most of their ingredients come from the farms of France.
As far as the signature desserts go, the ‘brownie with vanilla ice-cream’ stole our hearts with the richness and smoothness of ice-cream

mingling with the added crunch of biscuit crumbs. There is option of selecting raspberry or pistachio ice-creams instead of vanilla.  Next was the     ‘lemon tart’ with the flavor of fresh lemon popping in our mouth with every bite. Both the desserts presented a good combination of
consistencies and flavours. Pistachio ice-cream can be tried although it is a very common dessert. 
A highly recommended dish by chef is the Grilled “le Pouple” or grilled octopus. The octopuses are from North West Spain with unique texture

and taste. Only the leg part is pan seared along with diced pork belly and seasonal veggies to seal in the juices and aroma.

The waiting staff was very courteous and polite. We were very pleased and would definitely come back. Tartine has come up with a ‘Christmas

Dinner’ priced at $588 per person, if you are keen to experience the French fine dining and a much finer hospitality.  Look out for the ‘New Year      Dinner’ promotion-to be announced soon.

The tomato and burrata are both very fresh, it’s a nice tartine, but it doesn’t wow me because with the right ingredients, this is something people can make at home. This is certainly a good place for girls to enjoy a light lunch and chat, also to appreciate the thoughts behind the set up and the menu. But if you’re looking for a place to get a comfort meal, you need to look elsewhere.

主食我點了lobster and homemade bechamel tartine(加$60)。上來一共四塊,擺放在木盤子上,上面的bechamel sauce烤得金黃。最底下是一塊硬脆的麵包片,中間那層是龍蝦肉,最上面是白忌廉汁。龍蝦肉是一小塊一小塊,很爽口也很鮮甜!白汁很香,整個配搭在一起就超贊!吃完覺得8成飽,下午工作不會打瞌睡哈哈哈。

Tartine這個名字可能大家未必熟識,轉換成 Sandwich,是不是即時大家都明白了。人們總會有種錯覺,覺得三文治是種輕食,難登大雅之堂,更何況出現在Fine Dining內,這個情況就被以法式多士三文治為店名的餐廳所改變。店內的裝潢簡潔得來有點藍天白雲的感覺,深藍色的牆身,撞上白色的傢具,天花還吊有一些熱氣球的裝飾,雖然樓底不算高,但卻營造出空間感。開放式的大廚房,更可讓客人看見廚師的手藝,感覺舒適。另外,他們還有一層設有露天座位的,感覺更為開揚舒適。美食來前,當然先由幾杯雞尾酒打開大家的心窗,點點酒精去抒發一下緊張的心情。每杯雞尾酒都各有特式,其中一杯更有滿滿的Rosemary,喝前由店員燒過,增加香氣。同時,也點來一點小食來送酒。以Cold Cuts送酒,永遠是對的,火腿的咸香,辣肉腸的辣香與莎樂美腸的油香都與酒精合襯。而另一款則是CheesePlatter,小弟不喜芝士,不過友人們都十分喜愛,有些更是令他們停不了手。不過,最邪惡的還是Black truffle crostini,香脆可口的多士,夾著半溶的芝士與黑松露,實在滋味無窮,差點想追加一碟。接著,主角tartine陸

店內的裝潢簡潔得來有點藍天白雲的感覺,深藍色的牆身,撞上白色的傢具,天花還吊有一些熱氣球的裝飾,雖然樓底不算高,但卻營造出空間感。開放式的大廚房,更可讓客人看見廚師的手藝,感覺舒適。另外,他們還有一層設有露天座位的,感覺更為開揚舒適。

接著,主角tartine陸陸續續送來了,其實解釋很簡單,就是餡料向外的多士三文治,正因餡料向外,吸引力也大增了。第一件就以Goat Cheese, roasted figs & parma ham為餡料的tartine,再澆上陳醋及蜜糖等,口味反而不算濃烈而略帶清新。

另一款的Lobster & homemade béchamel with lobster bisque深得大家的認同,最怕就是硬堀堀的龍蝦肉,這個卻很柔軟,而且配上滋味的醬汁,大家不消一會兒就吃光了,而且絕對不能錯過美味的龍蝦湯。

除了tartine外,還有不少菜式的,好像這個Classic Beef Tartarte,從調味上,刀功上都做得不錯,很傳統的酸溜溜味道,加點點辣香,而質感則軟滑而有嚼感,不會毫無咬口,塗在多士上,更添色彩。

大家知道我喜歡吃牛,再來一個Angus Beef Fillet Mignon,牛柳處理的非常對辦,呈現medium的生熟度,一刀切下,即感到那份柔軟多汁的感覺,肉味也頗為濃厚,配以打得幼滑的薯蓉及青豆,再來一份也可以。

Black truffle finger sandwiches arrive with a side of green salad. This popular dish is indeed excellent, well made with buttered toast, cheese and decent black truffle.
The three tartars, bigeye tuna, salmon and beef, are equally tasty and refreshing; whilst I particularly favor tuna tartare that comes with tangy ponzu cream and is completed with white truffle oil.

Open face sandwiches, are always their fresh sourdough with the best quality toppings.
The goats cheese and fig tartine is as good as my first experience; at the same time, the lobster one is made richly with tender lobster meat, cheesy and decadent bechamel white sauce. They are impressive.

A trusted recipe, the cheese was quite strong gamey for HK as some people noted, I personally was fine with this but may be I don't have a sweet tooth these days, I found the honey slightly sweet. The bread was so aromatic though, I could just survive on that. : ) ~ 7/10

There's a spread of French Ham, Spanish Chorizo, Salami, House Cured Beef, etc.
To me it is always interesting because there is not doubt Spain carries the best Iberico ham, even when I went to French-Basque area, some restaurants were serving Spanish Jamon despite the area also producing French Jambon. Here it was a mix of both but balanced.

This was presented well. The Blue Cheese sauce wasn't that apparent, but the steak was charred on all sides. It was slightly dry and could be more buttery or cheesy to me, quite gamey in grass myogoblin taste... ~ 6.5/10

Although the food was great, the service was quite lacking as the waitresses were pretty slow to respond to each table. Would definitely come back again.

In case you are not sure what's Frisée stands for, it basically means curly-leafed lettuce that has a slightly bitter flavor. It was mixed in a vinigrette dressing which was quite refreshing.

My favourite out of the 3 starters was definitely the Quinoa Salad. It was in a vinigrette dressing as well, with feta cheese avocado and pepper. which gives a good mix of textures and flavours in a mouthful.

Prawn & Homemade Bechemel Tartine

The prawn was fresh and delicious, and the bechemel sauce gave the right amount of moisture to the crispy sour dough toast without being too overwhelming and sickly. It came with a cute cup of foamed prawn broth as well, but we left it cooled so it was a bit fishy at the end... I am sorry.

Slow-cooked Beef Ragu & Parmigiano Reggiano Tartine

Sounded so fancy this bolognese on toast. There were a handful amount of Ragu with hint of wine, very fluffy and meaty, not to mentioned the melted mature cheese on the top. I mean you can't go wrong with this combination really.

In comparison, this vegetarian tartine was much lighter. The cheese was so mild that it allowed the sweetness of the peppers and aubergines to stand out, leaving a refreshing note after all.

With the set, you may add $20 to change your set drink (tea / black coffee) to a Cap / Latte / Hot Chocolate. Alternatively you may also post a photo of your food to social media to get it for free.

To be honest, the gourmet set with 3 dishes for each person was not quite manageable for us because their dishes were huge and the carbs are filling! But I really enjoyed the lunch here, no matter we are on about the food quality and the environment. Good prices as well so I highly recommend it!
