Banh Mi with Salted Pork Hand Meat and Vietnamese Sausage ($46). Boyfriend and I shared a banh mi as we only wanted a light snack so we requested it be cut in half. We had a choice of either hard or soft bread. I'm unsure what that means exactly. Isn't there only one version of the baguette? We chose soft. This is what it looked like. The bred was definitely not the usual baguette used in a banh mi. But then so many here don't really know how to create it anyways. Maybe we should have chose the hard bread? Whatever that was. The filling was tasty enough though the pickles weren't as acidic as I would have liked. It lacked that bit of freshness found in a banh mi and was a bit on the dense side. A few chilli peppers were tossed in so you do get a bit of spice. Over all, not great but not bad. At least it was cheap.
Mango Smoothie ($15 with set). The drinks get a discount if you order food. Thus, the set. The mango smoothie was not good at all. Just tasted like ice with very minimal mango flavor.
We considered ordering noodles, but saw the person beside us having a bowl and it looked a bit weak. So, we skipped it. The banh mi may not be what I remember it to be, but for a local interpretation of it, it wasn't too bad. Service was friendly enough. But unsure if I'd be back.
