親友當中有不少榴槤愛好者,時常會交換榴槤飲食情報。The Market的自助餐以榴槤甜品作為賣點,早就成為親友們的必食之選。即使沒有榴槤的號召,Hotel Icon的出品仍是讓人期待的。貴為城中最熱的自助餐,一位難求實屬意料中事。透過酒店網上系統預訂,比想像中快捷方便。平日的下午自助餐收費為$338,與城中其他大熱酒店自助餐看齊,屬合理的價位。即使是平日,The Market也是座無虛席,受歡迎程度可見一斑。餐廳分為三個用餐區域,前方跟自助餐桌靠得最近,中間有園林景致和充沛日光,後方離自助餐桌最遠也較昏暗。最初我們被安排至後方位置,除了不方便取食外,這邊感覺亦較為悶熱,對長者來說不太合適。反映過後,侍應立即安排另一位置,服務細心周到。順帶一提Hotel Icon是理工大學的教學酒店,當中有年輕的實習生,服務態度親切有禮,表現不輸其他五星酒店。海鮮,是眾人的目標首選。必食的有長脚蟹,鮮甜彈牙、海水味足,少有能嚐到如此高質素。東風螺個頭不小,爽脆味鮮。龍蝦鉗啖啖肉,爽彈肉甜。青口肥美,大蝦鮮甜,整體來說是水準之上,令人滿意。刺身區供應醋鯖魚、甜蝦、八爪魚、三文魚、呑拿魚,新鮮之餘選擇也不少

喇沙,亦屬頭號目標。早聽聞這兒的喇沙相當出色,喇沙湯頭濃稠鮮香,帶濃濃的椰香,加上鮮蝦、豆卜、雞蛋等配料,不愧是店方名物。另有即製粥粉麵、鴨肉扁、海皇雞粥,但還是數喇沙最值得推介

嚐過海鮮、粉麵後,便兵分兩路。個人較鍾情沙律、凍肉芝士區,當中以後者最為吸引,芝士種類貴精不貴多,金必文芝士、合桃芝士是必食推介,而沙樂美腸、巴馬火腿也是不可錯過

親友們主攻熱葷區域。熱葷除大路的煎龍脷柳,燒排骨、牛仔骨外,也有東南亞特色菜如煎星加坡雞、泰式焗粉絲蝦、印式烤雞、泰式燒豬頸肉等,個人認為熱輂非特色之選淺嘗即可,跳過亦無損失。兩款湯品當中,椰子雪耳燉雞較寡淡,龍蝦湯鮮甜。值得一讚的是北京填鴨廚師預先卷好奉客,吃起來十分方便。鴨肉皮脆帶油香,稍嫌餅皮有點厚身。

來到The Market的客人,十居其九都是甜品而來,而甜品當然不會是飯後才吃的吧!榴槤專區早已聚集大批食客,幸而供應是源源不絕的。榴槤斑蘭卷、榴槤芝士撻、榴槤芝士蛋糕、榴槤雪糕......看到那陣容實在是教人興奮,加上那陣陣的榴槤香氣,也難怪這主題能長做長有,從不間斷。

特別推介香脆貓山王炸榴槤,經熱油炸過,熟透的榴槤轉化成另一種口味,更香更甜榴槤奶凍內藏不少榴槤肉,奶滑不太甜。榴槤芝士撻香口得很,香甜的榴槤與芝士十分搭配。榴槤雪糕同樣混有不少榴槤肉,雖然冰感較重,還是值得一試。

除了榴槤專區外還有其他甜品可選,只是吃過不少榴槤甜品後,胃納只能容得下輕怡的杯子甜品了。這兒的奶凍甜品相當不俗,當中以綠茶奶凍最為出色。遇上Movenpick雪糕,瑞士朱古力、熱情果香芒雪葩一濃一酸,依然是我最愛的雪糕品牌

也許是午市自助餐的關係,選擇不比預期豐富,質素卻是水準之上甜品表現尤為出色。服務方面絕對是加分位,但見經理每桌問及食客意見,在大熱的酒店餐廳來說份屬少見服務與質素俱佳,能成為城中大熱自助餐,如此看來是不無道理的。
