Rokkaku is really a great hidden secret . Just had a great dinner with two of my friends. When we walked in around 8:00, we were noted that the sashimi selection are limited for the night. Only the chef recommendations sets were available. It might sound unpleasant, but we all find that chef recommendations were better option for our first trial to this restaurant.

We had the chef recommended sashimi and sushi set. The seafood quality are great. They are all very sweet and fresh. The hamachi, scallops and shrimp are impressive. Toro was not bad, but it is not the best toro cut. Yet, the sushi rice are superb. The vinaigrette in the rice are well balanced. The firmness of the rice in the sushi are perfect. The taste of rice actually elevated the seafood on the sushi.

The deep fried tofu was a surprise. The tofu are fried with crispy skin and soft center. The sauces complement the tofu perfectly.

We also had a soft shell crab maki. It is a common item on Japanese menu, but rokkaku's chef have made this simple maki to a delicious delicacy. The soft shell crab is deep fried perfectly, and balanced with fine cut cucumber.

We finished the meal with a bowl of Inaniwa Udon. The texture was perfect. It was al dente and crisp. It was flawless.

I have to agree that they serve the dishes in a slower pace. Yet, this gave us more time to savour each dishes carefully.

Due to that yummy 荵吞腩 came on board at lunch on 20/02/09, so i recommended to my other friends to have dinner there (thought it may be not that busy compare to lunch), then 4 of us went.

waitress - really is a real problem to this shop, they are thick or something, i asked for 蟹柳壽司as it was not listed on their menu, then that thick waitress said 'no, we dun have it', then i said 'what! i saw you have 蟹柳小卷 on menu but you told me you dun have蟹柳壽司!!??' she went 'oh i need to check with the chef', after few mins later, she came back and asked how many pieces i want (she didnt bother to tell me how much), i said 4 pcs (she kind of 呸視), so i ended up spent $20/pc for 蟹柳壽司there, total $80 + 10% plsu that kind of service = not worth it + disappointed

too many things to tell and i wont bore you all with it, you judge

今日我同2個朋友到六角食Lunch.

食物質量: 我個吞拿魚腩飯定食細到嚇死人。吞拿魚腩連飯只是比一個HaagenDaz雪糕球大少少,另加一碟鱼生,包括2件salmon,1件甜蝦,2件池鱼同2 "粒" 帶子,每款都係細細件。成個set最好食係salmon,其他都只是一般。朋友的特選壽司定食最貴的只是吞拿魚腩(剁碎)sushi,同海膽sushi,連一件似樣的Toro sushi 都冇,最cheap係有件加州卷,成$200一位,食兒童餐同普通sushi,真係火都嚟埋。

I work near admiralty, so I guess I have tried around 80% of the restaurants nearby. There’re not a lot of Japanese restaurant that worthwhile to eat nearby. 亞豬生日, 我哋一行6人中午去六角食飯同佢慶祝我叫咗特上魚生飯定食, 前菜唔係太好食, 同埋點解個麵豉湯一粒豆腐都冇架..D魚生都幾新鮮, 我見同事叫咗鰻魚飯同燒牛肉飯都好似好好味咁!最後的菠蘿雪糕都好好味呀!

現場所見, 客人大多是PP3 走過來的年青才俊, 也有太平紳士黃英琦. 房祖明亦曾在訪問中說這是他的心水日本料理店.

這裡的餐具很Girlie, 都是Suki 選的嗎?

不得不提檯頭的「小狸貓」. 雖然這裡不是日本人開的店, 但「狸貓」是關西傳統日本商店及食店必定放在店內的擺設, 代表老闆對生意講求信用、真誠及良心.

入店後我選擇改坐壽司吧. 因為知道健談的老公喜歡跟「板長樣」溝通, 就可以吃得最新鮮最精選的刺身喇!

此店自家製的士多啤梨酒, 十分香甜, 看樣子也很浪漫呢.

雖然我沒落單, 但坐在壽司吧, 已當是吃おまかせ(Omakase) 刺身. おまかせ解「拜托」, 在板前料理的意思是由「板前樣」或「板長樣」(主廚) 替你發辦. 你只要說明不吃什麼, 他會精選最好的給你. 這裡的おまかせ(Omakase) 刺身每位$600, おまかせ(Omakase) 壽司每位$380.

對於這種服務我有點不自在, 因為不知道將要吃什麼, 又不知道在吃多貴的刺身, 感覺好像每放一片刺身入口就是在把一百元紙幣放入口般, 好擔心! 怕不夠錢埋單! 老公在旁安慰, 說他會告訴磊師傅何時停止, 幸好磊師傅一邊在忙另一邊也看到我的憂慮, 在五款刺身後替我們改吃四款壽司, 另加天婦羅及燒吞拿魚腩.

先上的是白身「魚立」魚及池魚. 每款刺身都附有特定的沾醬, 如酸汁、薑豉油等. 老公說用料很鮮, 「魚立」魚是很難找到好吃的呢.

沒漬過的鲭魚, 是人間難求的鮮味啊! 在日本也要付20,000yen 一位才有這個水準.

期望最高的中吞拿魚腩壽司. 味道比期望更好!

「入口即溶」已是基本要求, 不少中價的壽司店都可做到. 這個Chyu-toro 更高一級, 是有嚼頭、有層次的, 入口先嚐到魚油的香, 然後是吞拿魚的甜, 最後是魚腩位置的嚼頭及充滿鮮度的after-taste. 真不簡單!

磊師傅推介的明太子釀小青椒天婦羅. 配搭有創意, 完全不油膩.

亦是磊師傅推介的燒吞拿魚腩. 老公笑說燒魚腩很浪費, 磊師傅堅稱那個位置用來燒最好吃. 結果果然很好吃, 熟透了的吞拿魚腩口感像世上最嫩滑的雞肉, 外皮脆, 肉質極滑.

甜品選擇柚子雪芭. 用原個日本柚子造, 成本很高啊! 味道當然好~

好久沒有吃過一頓老公和我都認為每道菜是滿分的晚餐. 甜蜜又滿足呢^_^

經朋友介紹以及從他那處得到數張coupon,所以到此享用午膳,二話不說先order了朋友極力推介的雜錦魚生飯,之後就陸續上前菜,蒸蛋,麵豉湯等.蒸蛋不錯,料很足又夠熱,真想再食多一個.不用等很久,主菜上場,賣相不錯,魚生睇落好生鮮同好多款,但因為甚少研究魚生種類,只會認得三文魚,所以都數唔出食咗乜嘢魚生,份量睇落不多,但食完其實都幾飽同埋幾好味,因魚生生鮮.之後就到甜品,我選了菠蘿雪糕,有驚喜,因估唔到附送既雪糕都咁好味,好味是在於雪糕有果肉的.兩個人食扣埋朋友送既coupon,每人都係$120,之後又再收到多兩張新既coupon,價錢可接受唔算太貴.

Highly not recommended: dishes were delivered in a chaotic order: sushi (without soya bean sauce), main dishes, appetisers (part), ice-cream, and lastly soup; mediocre service; unsound excuses and half-hearted apology from the manager in response to our complaint.

everyone has mentioned about the sashimi and steamed egg etc, but something also worth a mention is the inaniwa udon... we ordered the mixed mushroom udon, the soup base was clear broth that was tasty and did not make me thirt afterwards. The texture of the udon was perfect, substantial, "yeen un" and cooked to perfection. Saw pictures of the diced sashimi rice bowl and wanted to try it, but since the deluxe sashimi rice bowl was only $10 more, we decided to go for that, which was also very nice (but still wanted to try the diced one)
The sashimi on the rice bowl seemed even tastier than the sashimi set we ordered (same variety of fish, with hotate and botan ebi).

California rolls were nice, but on the small side, without much ingredients. Chilled tofu was nice, and there was also a complimentary chilled tofu with chopped fatty tuna with BEA credit card.

We requested for counter seats, but after we ordered udon etc, they said we couldn't stay at the counter and gave us a table on the 1st floor instead, which wasn't bad as there was less cooking smell coming from the kitchen. The table for 2 was a bit small though, hardly enough room to fit all the dishes on the plate. Service was attentive enough, tea was duly refilled, though I had to ask several times if there was a complimentary dish from the credit card offer.

Left with a very satisfied stomach, will try cooked dishes next time.

本人因需於灣仔上班既關係,所以也頗熟識附近的食肆,其實如果係灣仔至金鐘一帶上班既人都知道,係依區食中午的時段係非常之難搵位,好多時上班不久己經要商量好午餐去邊間度食飯而方便盡快訂位. "六角"都算係我們一班同事會時常吃午餐既餐廳,因為以日本餐對我哋女仕們嚟計算無咁肥膩,而且依度除咗MENU中的set以外,佢哋每一日都有唔同既specail做推介,但當然手快有手慢無la, 因為試過無提早落order,再加上當日遲咗落去食飯,所以當日special己買完. 但我覺得依度值得推介既係魚生飯,魚生好生鮮,如果有某些種類既魚類係唔食既可以於落單時說明,店舖都會好樂意以其它種類既魚作替換.如熟食的話,我會選special(當然唔係成日咁好彩撞啱做這special啦) : 漢堡扒, 但我都係試過倆次, 因為佢d special日日唔同. 而咖啡或雪糕, 我會選雪糕, 特別係佢哋既菠蘿雪糕或杏仁咖啡雪糕

有時吃一餐,不是十分差,硬是覺得差一點點,是日就有這種感覺。在星街一帶,有這間雅致的日本料理店,又真的是不錯。午市日替的價位98大洋,不算很貴。推門進內,招呼住在壽司檯這邊。見是日的日替是「二重」,即兩款飯,火灸三文及蒲燒鰻魚,也一試無妨,就要了這個higawali。先付是芽菜,不覺得是漬的,凍凍的,沒有什麼味道;跟著陸續來了茶碗蛋、味噌湯及飯。茶蒸蛋材料是下足的,雞肉、筍、冬菇、日式魚蛋、銀杏也有。但蒸得過了火,蛋太老,絕不嫩滑,味道亦鹹多甜少~最重要的過不了關,材料足也無濟於是;飯是以兩個小碗奉客,似乎以二重便當的形式會更好。火灸三文凍凍的,跟刺身沒大分別,火灸的話,不是即「灸」,也不好這樣冷吧,不懂欣賞;鰻魚還算不錯,蒲燒汁還可以。日本米飯偏硬了一點,沒有熱度,溫溫吞吞的。餐後可試咖啡或雪糕,選了前者,幾香,不錯。不知何解,總不覺有吃日本料理的感覺。如坐下連熱毛巾也沒有,怎吃壽司?又收餐具時又沒添茶。這裡服務雖不錯,女領班尤其親切,還問對食物的意見。但如果連以上細節位都留意,更好。埋單一百一十蚊,不貴,但總覺有所不足,也提不起興趣再來了。
