發文之時~今年的生日也將到~收藏的文章還是想發出來與大家分享~~同時回味一下自已的生日放學後趕到金鐘跟大比會合~~神神秘秘的走到JW Marriott搭上7/F~一開lift門先嗅到室外的濕氣~繼而是泳池般的消毒味道~~原來這層是酒店的泳池~~也是池畔餐廳~Fish Bar魚吧的所在地~~這裡沒有一般酒店餐廳的拘緊感覺~也不需要formal dress code~輕輕鬆鬆~就坐在最近泳池的轉角位置~以L型的方式坐著~感覺上已經很有privacy~~欣賞檯紙是偽報紙而四角還有小魚磁石作固定之用黑板上寫著The Catch of Today~ Barramundi, Snapper, Garoupa, etc. 看著白底有魚仔泡泡作點綴的簡約餐牌~想吃的還真多~~~眼闊肚窄~~還是先要個沙律和lobster & crab cake作starter~~~~而主菜當然少不了剛提到的鮮魚~~選了Char-grilled Garoupa~其他再算店方沒有硬性規定要叫飲品又或是sparkling /distilled water~但叫了Lemonade為自已作個藉口~應該與魚類好作個中和之用~但對小

放學後趕到金鐘跟大比會合~~神神秘秘的走到JW Marriott搭上7/F~一開lift門先嗅到室外的濕氣~繼而是泳池般的消毒味道~~原來這層是酒店的泳池~~也是池畔餐廳~Fish Bar魚吧的所在地~~這裡沒有一般酒店餐廳的拘緊感覺~
也不需要formal dress code~輕輕鬆鬆~就坐在最近泳池的轉角位置~以L型的方式坐著~感覺上已經很有privacy~~欣賞檯紙是偽報紙而四角還有小魚磁石作固定之用


黑板上寫著The Catch of Today~ Barramundi, Snapper, Garoupa, etc. 看著白底有魚仔泡泡作點綴的簡約餐牌~想吃的還真多~~~眼闊肚窄~~還是先要個沙律和lobster & crab cake作starter~~~~而主菜當然少不了剛提到的鮮魚~~選了Char-grilled Garoupa~其他再算

店方沒有硬性規定要叫飲品又或是sparkling /distilled water~但叫了Lemonade為自已作個藉口~應該與魚類好作個中和之用~但對小比而言~還是偏甜了一些~而table bread只是中size的法包~~質素一般得很~不必花上胃納應酬~~而且包著麵包的餐巾正正是咱們鋪在大腿上的一款~~印象分更加大減~~反而作為side dishes的生菜~creamed spinach 夠鮮不膩做到水準


Salad Nicoise : 小比沙律大過天~~微微烤過的yellow fin tuna倒是不錯~外圍約0.5cm的一圈熟了
~微暖的焦香卻混有刺身中心的嫩感
~薯仔粉淋~同場的烚蛋和番茄配合一底以紅生菜為主的green bed~夠充實了~~交帶了dressing on side給大比吃~而自已則喜歡擠出檸檬汁酸酸的

Lobster & Crab Cake : crab cake的質素當然上佳~但襯托主角的綠葉表現卻青出於藍~自家製Tartar sauce不滯不膩~與半煎炸的crab cake相映成趣~面前絕對是個一絕的crab cake~非常非常足料~~不吃沙律醬的小比竟然在此與Fish Bar的tartar sauce從此結緣~足料非常的crab cake感覺是粉也不多加~調味也不多了~~就通通把鮮味吃出來!再來encore的機會頗大呢~


Char-grilled Garoupa : 2大塊garoupa燒得焦脆!最愛吃香口的邊位~而伴碟則有焗薯和Tartar sauce again~魚肉不失嫩滑感覺~始終班塊厚度均一易控制火喉~可惜的是廚子似乎調味過份重手~~吃到1/4時忍不住跟senior說了聲
~立即退回廚房再做過~~

Char-grilled snapper : Garoupa退回廚房之後~可能是沽清的原故~waiter suggest改試snapper~這次廚子為我們配上的是creamy mashed potato~比起原個baked的更好味~! snapper鯛魚的肉質沒有石斑幼嫩~但粗曠地燒焦當然很配合~沒有著他走鹽~但應該都落少了~~~無咁咁咁咸~~~~但都咸~其實此刻已經120%飽~~真後悔沒有叫他退了就算~不必換了~

吃罷主菜~甜品都沒有點了~因為鬼妹仔waitress已經悄悄的送上大比預備的生日蛋糕~~也因當初訂位的時候~中央接線小姐說會有甜品送~但其實這個policy已經在fish bar較早時取消了~因為這一個小誤會~所以就免了切餅費~~~這個涼風的晚上~仰望四周是商廈~但卻身在池畔過著生日~是個不錯的食歷~會再來的~~另當晚只有四五檯客~似乎下次想來就來~不必那麼隆重 =]

Food: Fish was still good! I had Beer Battered Fish n Chips, the others had Grilled Garoupa and Grilled Sea Bass, all catch of the day. My dad had the Fish Chowder as an appetizer - it looked very enticing with a huge piece of fish (think it was sea bass) plus some prawns! They were also having a promotion on fresh Oysters. Fish was still good! I had
Beer Battered Fish n Chips, the others had Grilled Garoupa and Grilled Sea Bass
, all catch of the day. My dad had the
Fish Chowder
as an appetizer - it looked very enticing with a huge piece of fish (think it was sea bass) plus some prawns! They were also having a promotion on

. I don't eat oysters whilst the others had 6 each; they were disappointed with the quality.

Service:
Honestly, I was quite disappointed with their service! This is a 5-star hotel after-all!

1. First of all, we ordered a bottle of wine from the Master Wine List (not from the restaurant's wine menu). After we ordered, our server suddenly returned and suggested that we order a bottle of champagne instead. We then told him we would like some wine, not champagne.

I tasted the wine and found it a bit too fruity for my liking. Then, here's the dialogue:
Server: Yes, this wine is very fruity; that's why I recommended the champagne.
Me: But we would like to have wine instead.
Server: Oh, in that case, I would have recommended the _____ (pointed at an item on the menu, NOT the Master Wine List), as the one you ordered would be too fruity for most people.
Me: If that is so, why didn't you make the recommendation when I ordered?
Server: Because YOU asked for the Master Wine List. YOU didn't ask for recommendation and made your choice. We give our customers the right to choose what they order.
Me: ........ (I was silenced)
Oops, so simply put, IT WAS MY OWN FAULT THAT I DIDN'T ASK FOR HIS RECOMMENDATION AND ORDERED SOMETHING THAT I DIDN'T LIKE.


2. Our oysters arrived and the server (different guy) quickly named the oysters and took off, without mentioning which the order which they should be eaten. Maybe he forgot, or maybe he didn't know.


3. We ordered some more bread, the server (a girl this time) said yes, and the bread didn't arrive until we asked again from a different server.


4. The crab cake was sold out when we ordered. The server said they only sell 100 servings everyday, and that's why they were usually sold out by early evening. However, as we were leaving the restaurant, we saw the table next to us enjoying the crab cakes! Maybe they can be pre-ordered?

Honestly, I don't know whether I will visit this restaurant again!

3人叫左以下食物:

先講pecan pie,一般啦,唔係太甜,不過我估佢地唔係用好新鮮既pecan,所以食落去有d "臨"。
rapsberry pastry,以為佢係拿破崙皮,而且又唔係好crispy,所以都係麻麻地。
caramel pudding,無乜特別,一般水平。

overall comment:
environment: 不錯,坐在pool旁,都幾relax。而且個restuarant唔係好大,約有8張table,唔會太多人。
service: 都ok,serve我地既waitress對menue都熟。不過有時叫佢地時又唔知點解佢地睇極都睇唔到我地!!!
food: starter 同main course 選擇唔多,(應該話比較少),不過都好有水準。不過dessert就唔係好好......
recommended: 佢地送既法包好好味,soft得黎又有少少甜味,沾個mussel既sauce一流。
要彈: 個白酒杯唔係高身杯,係一隻好好平時用既水杯。即當你飲既時間手既溫度一定會令杯酒升溫,唔體貼


各人一杯wine同tea /coffee,共食左$1600。因為朋友有coupon,折左之後約$1000。

My dear suddenly craved for fish and chips, and here was one of the recommendations - the Fish Bar, situating aside the swimming pool, only with fans while outside was office buildings, hah, dun mind returning to nearby Central area with with such atmosphere somehow We had, for sure, fish and chips as well as crab cakes. Tho 2 mains, we are completely full and cannot finish all!The fish and chips was an enormous dish. A whole fish fillet was served and a mountain of chips underlying. Really deep

We had, for sure, fish and chips as well as crab cakes. Tho 2 mains, we are completely full and cannot finish all!

The fish and chips was an enormous dish. A whole fish fillet was served and a mountain of chips underlying. Really deep fried, Crispy and juicy - what do you request more for the dish? Even the fries are crispy and large in portion. Perceiving the chef place the passion for the dish, hope I was right.

My crab cake was a big dish as well. Though I had a little comparison to the opposite RC ... anywaz, still good. You can chew the crab meat I think and the texture was nice enough.

Apart from that, the sides and tartar sauce were as good as the main. The corns, creamy spinach as well as the salad leaves were nice matching with the mains *we asked for more corn tho*

Actually, we should call one more buddy to complete all. The dishes were nice and served hot, also the staff were very friendly *again*

同同事食晚飯,因為我好鐘意食Crab Cake,所以選擇左JW萬豪酒店的Fish Bar.可能好祈待佢個Crab and Lobster Cake,所以有d失望 - 雖然有龍蝦肉但係有d散,好甜,最差係有味精(因為本人對味精有d敏感,如果d食物有味精,之後會勁口渴)最終,食完佢個Crab and Lobster Cake之後,我成晚飲水,無覺好眠!!同事叫左Mussels,試咗一隻,都ok,但最後同事食剩好多,可能佢細食??另外兩位同事叫咗燒春雞,無錯,係Fish Bar叫燒春雞,奉勸各位唔好係Fish Bar叫海鮮以外的食物,因為d雞KFC仲好食過佢!人哋的專長始終係海鮮仲有叫左個酥炸鮮魷魚圈配招牌塔塔醬share,無什麼特別,一般啦.環境方面,有d熱,仲見到有蚊tim!!

Crab cakes
First came the appetizers, the entire piece was blended with crab meats, veggie, bits of pawns, and herbs, served with a bottle of self-made tartar sauce, it's heavenly! cripsy and juicy with the lemon squeeze.

Grilled baramundi and chips
Instead of salmon, we had baramundi, after several trials, we found most places serving baramundi which are of average standard, including marriot's, which are bit hard when cooked. Only the real high-end rest. like one in Sydney serving real baramundi could cook to its tenderness.

Maybe the other types of fish would be a better choice, will try next time =)

Oysters--鹹水味重,入口creamy的生蠔,印象中來自澳洲.

Deep fried calamari--炸魷魚圈香口不膩滯,魷魚恰如其分地彈牙味鮮.

Clams & Mussels--飽脹的蜆肉及青口以白酒煮過,兩者均保持肉嫩,口中還遺留些微白酒的餘韻.隨後的蒜蓉多士尚香脆的.

最近間中都會相約同樣饞嘴的舅仔兩口子四處覓食。這次來到JW Marriott的魚吧,其中最大的原因,無非在於手上有的coupons,當然,這裡的fish selection及特製的tartar sauce也是我們選擇這兒的另一因素啦....是日風和日麗,在這座落於酒店泳池旁的餐廳進餐,陽光洒在眾人身上,舒適得很,實是人生一大快事也未來之先已做定功課,所以menu也只是略略喵一下便算。唯一要參詳一下的便是要從Today's catch云云選擇中選吃哪種魚而已....未吃魚之前先來個頭盤warm up一下。這裡的crab & lobster cake很著名,未吃之先已有着三分期待。吃過後也覺不錯,用料極足,拆蟹肉及龍蝦肉是全然的塞滿整塊餅的,粉是差不多完全沒有下。調味是偏淡的,但這樣反而才能充份吃出海鮮的鮮味來,很不錯。對太座及舅仔而言,放在一旁的自家製他他醬才是主角。這裡做的下有極多的香草,嗅上去是頗香的,但味卻是沒有想像的濃,酸青瓜粒下得不夠多,好像是欠缺了點味兒。對懂得自己弄tartar sauce的舅仔來說,自然是不太滿意了....在menu看不到fish burger,有些失望轉

未吃魚之前先來個頭盤warm up一下。這裡的crab & lobster cake很著名,未吃之先已有着三分期待。吃過後也覺不錯,用料極足,拆蟹肉及龍蝦肉是全然的塞滿整塊餅的,粉是差不多完全沒有下。調味是偏淡的,但這樣反而才能充份吃出海鮮的鮮味來,很不錯。對太座及舅仔而言,放在一旁的自家製他他醬才是主角。這裡做的下有極多的香草,嗅上去是頗香的,但味卻是沒有想像的濃,酸青瓜粒下得不夠多,好像是欠缺了點味兒。對懂得自己弄tartar sauce的舅仔來說,自然是不太滿意了....
在menu看不到fish burger,有些失望
轉而要了份fish sandwich,驟眼看那size真的差不多有半隻碟那樣大,對胃納不算大的舅仔兩口子來說,兩人共享一份就剛好了(對於大吃得多的太座及小弟就很難說
)。麵包是用上foccacia的,包的外層焗得非常的crispy,內層的fish fillet醃得很夠味卻又不失魚鮮,皮也是炸得香脆。大量的蕃茄及生菜片大大減去了炸魚的油膩感,出色。伴碟的粗薯條炸得外脆內軟,薯味極濃,洒在面頭上的海鹽份量也是剛好。數近來吃過最好的french fries,這兒的必屬其一了
Mashed potato有着極重牛油香,質感很滑,仔細用口嚼下還可吃到不少的薯粒,實在極有水準
其餘的伴吃如牛油粟米及火箭菜等也都很新鮮。對喜歡吃side dish多過main的太座來講,實是樂得透頂

重頭戲的是兩款的Today's catch。選了比較少吃的盲鰽barramundi,肉是極腍且滑的,用上chargrilled方法處理,皮燒得香脆而不失炭香味,適量的盬吊出了鮮味來。對小弟這等魚痴來說,除了清蒸之外,沒有比這更好的魚的烹調方法了;太座吃的是更少有的rainbow trout。鱒魚一向多骨,故不為太座所喜,叫這味純粹是貪新鮮而已。是日的用上啤酒燴,吃進口卻感受不到很濃烈的酒香。肉是挺嚡而且味極淡的,要下點lemon juice才感到有些味道來。個人而言對此品是有些失望

雖則如此,整體上還是吃得稱心滿意的。再加上用上那幾張coupons後,每人只需付百多大洋便可下樓了,實在是抵吃之極

這是一間不起眼的BAR, 在JW MARRIOT 游泳池隔離,環境舒適,夜晚放工去一流。裝飾簡單但非常配合餐廳主題。最得意係張臺墊,看起來似乎是張舊報紙,望清楚D,源來係寫滿晒餐廳有關嘅短文。食物同服務都非常好,我要咗D麵包,個法國麵包用餐巾包,看起來似一手槍,麵包好柔軟,好似新鮮出爐咁。主菜個賣相都好精緻。真正係舒緩壓力好地方。

Although the menu is quite simple (not a huge selection), it's enough if you like to eat fish. Here's what we ordered:

Food

1/2 dozen oysters
The oysters were freshly shucked, so it was very good! And it was on promotion as well!
Bucket of clams + prawns
You can choose from clams/prawns/mussels, and additional charge for pairing more than 1 item. The dish was nicely presented in an actual wooden bucket, and the taste was impeccable!
Char-grilled Barramundi (one of the items on the 'Catch of the Day' board)
The fish was nicely grilled, good texture, fries were yumyum too!
Fish burger w/fries
By the time we were onto the fish burger, we were already very full.... so I can't really say whether it tasted good or not...
2 glasses Pinot Grigio, 1 coke

Environment

Because of it's location next to the swimming pool, it was mostly outdoor, with a few tables inside. Naturally it is good for smokers to enjoy the fresh winter breeze with a huff and a puff. You can also see the other highrise hotels above Pacific Place from the restaurant - great views!

Price

To be honest, the price is acceptable for a restaurant in a 5-star hotel. With the Marriott Gold Card, members get 50% off their bill (if you dine with 1 other person), exclusive of 10% charge off all ordered items. So if you ordered an amount of $1400, you would have to pay $700 + $140sc = $840 (which was what we had to pay for this meal for 2).

Overall recommendation: If you have a Marriott Gold Card, it's worth a try!

上個星期五為朋友補祝生日, 三個人去返上次我生曰她同慶祝生日的 Fish Bar 食晚飯。今次跟上次一樣點了Calamari (炸魷魚圈) , 但炸魚選了Deep Fried Garoupa (炸石斑), 而上次是 Cod (鱈魚), 另外再點了 Pan Fried Salmon (煎三文魚) & Fried Crab and Lobster Cakes (炸龍虾蟹餅)。以上各款食物均是水準之作, 唯一可惜是朋友不吃生, 三文魚點了七成熟。如果是五成熟的話, 應該會更美味。PS: 招呼我們的 Waitress 是新人,對魚認識不夠。當我們知道沒有 Cod, 問她除了Garoupa 之外還有沒有其它魚適合炸,她是 O 晒咀嘅!另外我們見份Garoupa 有少少血絲, 問另位Waiter, 生生地是否無問題, 他竟然答他不清濋要問厨師!

Strongly recommend light eaters to share between two because their fish comes with potato mash, sweet corn, creamed spinach and green salad. A very ample portion but very delicious Mussel is also very fresh and good in taste

once stepped in the little wooden cottage setting, i love the cozy feeling of it. not to mention it's by the pool side with showers outside last nite, kinda romantic indeed two of us ordered:1. home made lobster & crab cakes: very good, those lobster & crab meat was finely done with finely chopped chives and potatoes. pan fried. tasted fresh & yummy. 2. char-grilled garoupa: catch of the day. the fish was just cooked, with cripsy touch on the skin. 3. fish & chips: the regular one was good. the

3. fish & chips: the regular one was good. the batter & chips were almost like those i had in uk. but too bad the fish bits were small like fish fingers (some were smaller than that actually). so we had to order another portion with bigger size of fish. but the taste of the bigger fish chucks were not as good as regular ones. probably it's the choice of fish.

those main courses went with green salad, sweet corn & cream spinach.

+ 2 bottles of evian, 1 glass of riesling (that one was so so).

the portion was actually more than i expected. so for two girls or couple with no huge appetite, actually one apeitizer and one main course would do.

the service was gd.

except it's a bit pricey for the nite, it's surely recommendable.
