This restaurant is in Island Shangri-La Hotel, offering a good spot for customers wanting to go for a drink, or a nice meal. Seated at a comfortable circular booth with an aquarium tank behind us, with some small coral fish swimming, the luxurious design, high ceiling with dim lighting, large windows looking out to the beautiful Admiralty view, create a very relaxing ambience, with each table having good space apart, and in no way feeling crowded even with full seating.

Started with a glass of champagne ($220), I begin with the Oysters, choosing Antilope 1858 ($198 for 3 pieces). Coming from Normandy, the oysters are very fresh, with a good texture and not too briny. Adding a bit of lemon juice and shallot vinaigrette, I finish the three pieces in quick succession.

Next comes the Salmon Balik Cut ($380). The staff pulls the cart to carve out four thick slices of the salmon in front of the table, and adds some pickled cucumber on the side. Lightly cured and gently smoked, the salmon is very moist and tender, delicious. The pickles have wonderful acidity to balance with the fat of the salmon to make it lively. There is also a Melba toast to go along with the salmon.

The Caesar Salad ($188) is prepared in traditional manner, mixing the Roman lettuce with croutons, bacon crisps, small herring fillets, and Parmesan cheese. The seasoning is spot on, without the sauce over-dominating the flavours of the other ingredients. The crunchy lettuce, coupled with the crispness of the bacon and croutons, are a good match in texture.

Coming to the main course, I order another glass of Sancerre to pair ($180). The Grilled Lobster ($798) is truly delicious, with the chef removing the meat from the whole lobster to present on plate, together with garlic butter on the side. Wonderfully seasoned, the lobster is sweet in taste, and the meaty texture certainly is gratifying on the bite. The sauce adds a nice buttery note to the lobster, highly complementary in flavours. A fantastic dish that I highly recommend.

We have chosen Sirloin ($698) as our steak. It is of decent size at 300g, perfectly grilled to medium level as requested, with some herbs to infuse with nice fragrance, very juicy and tender, and fantastic in taste. Served with beef jus, we both like the steak very much as it is leaner and flavourful. The best steak I have for a while.

For dessert, I have Apple Bourbon Pie ($108). The crust is crumbly, with the apple fillings great in taste, having the right balance of acidity, sweetness, the fragrance and bitterness from the bourbon, and touches of cinnamon. With vanilla ice-cream on the side, it is another classic dessert that is so delicious that you will wonder why not that many restaurants are offering nowadays. My wife has the Fruits and Berries ($108) with an assortment of seasonal fruit and berries, light and refreshing.

Finishing with a cup of Double Espresso ($75), the complimentary cup cakes are also delicious. Overall, service is good, though I think the staff can introduce the dishes more. But when the staff mistakenly fill my glass with warm water instead of the bottled water that I order they immediately change my glass and open a new bottle for us, showing good service recovery. The bill on the night is $3,248 and is reasonable. If looking for delicious lobster and steak in a nice ambience, this is a good place to consider.

Since the former Executive Chef Cary Docherty left the Lobster Bar, there’s no one really leading this kitchen. Also heard there’s renovation going on in the kitchen, so they only serving simple dishes at this moment. I guess it’s not a good time to visit?I can’t believe my eyes! Dinner set is $598! Roast beef in medium rare. Temperature is spot on. For sides, I picked mashed and creamy spinach. Both was pretty good! The only short was the Yorkshire pudding quite dry.

This Banoffee Pie is my thing. Crispy pastry at the bottom. Cream is silky smooth but not too sweet. Love any dessert with banana!

Overall, it’s very good deal for a 3 courses dinner in a decent restaurant. Looking forward to to try the dishes after the new kitchen is operated.

同太太結婚周年紀念,揀咗一間供應質素唔差嘅餐廳,當然房間嘅經驗令到我哋第二個餐飯得到昇華。最後我哋叫咗一客肉眼扒,一客龍蝦,同埋一個龍蝦湯。當我地抵達餐廳,可能佢哋知道我哋係過嚟慶祝結婚周年,所以一切嘅安排同埋座位都好完美。過咗一陣,上個麵包盤,個麵包款嘅麵包好出色,有酥皮系列,有酸種麵包。牛扒不過不失,有炭香味,食落口都算香口,到今日嘅主菜龍蝦,我哋覺得知到海鮮新唔新鮮,就要選擇清蒸。龍蝦肉質鮮甜,彈牙,果然無負距地既名聲,出色!龍蝦湯不過不失,正常發揮!

同幾位閨蜜食lunch,一向都鍾意Lobster Bar Lounge 嘅環境,一來地方寬闊,二來環境比較清靜,再加上佈置優雅,傾起計想來都冇咁辛苦,係閨蜜傾偈的好地方!今次特別點了餐牌上沒有的魚柳包,魚柳不是一般雪藏的,是新鮮的斑魚炸成,火候適中,魚味十足,再配上惹味芝士,口感與別不同,難怪每天只是限額發售,想食必須要預訂比較安全。另點了龍蝦意大利粉,龍蝦汁沾滿了每條意粉,意大利粉爽口,看得出廚師功架。加上頭盤的Ceasar salad 同龍蝦湯,滋味大滿足!

I tried their dinner several times but not their brunch. I decided to try their brunch before they change to another menu. By the time this review is published, the menu likely has changed. They have 2 sessions, 1130am and 2pm. 2pm was perfect for me as I am a late riser.Their butter was quite cute with their signature Lobster Bar Design. The appetizers were already offed to a great start. The tuna tartare mixed with avocado could never go wrong but the salmon tartare was the nice surprise.

The lobster rice was well seasoned on its own but its XO sauce was really impressive. Besides the usual saltiness/spiceness, they added other ingredients to incorporate elements of sweetness and tartness to it.

Not only was the tower aesthetically pleasing, each dessert was made to look like the components of the original seafood tower, eg. the lemons, seafood, sashimi, crabs etc. The balance of the whole tower was great.

The refill of the champagne was fast and service was excellent, including asking for my Golden Circle Number when settling the bill which I nearly forgot to provide. Looking forward to the next meal there.

今天來到港島香格里拉的龍蝦巴試試它的午市套餐。 先上來的是餐前麵包,三款口感由脆到軟由軟到硬,尤其芝士脆片我特別喜歡吃亦免費添加了一盤。 前菜有露筍湯 和鴨肝餅任選一款,餐湯有十分濃郁的蘆筍味可惜份量太少,鴨肝餅除了鴨肝也混入鴨肉,不用點醬也很美味,吃完已半飽。 主菜是烤魚, 配以檸檬汁,整片魚烤得恰到好處只是味道沒有什麼特別。 椰子雪糕味道清新,朱古力餅內亦夾雜著椰絲果粒。 個人來說或以現代人的口味是甜了一點。

先來一個龍蝦湯,order時講左係2人share,上菜時好貼心,分左2個碗上。分左2碗份量都唔少,啖啖龍蝦味,微微酒香,仲飲得出加左好多配料煮出黎。Creamy 但唔會好粉漿,入面仲有啲龍蝦肉😚

Steamed Whole Lobster ❣️
Whole lobster有三種整法可以揀(水煮/燒烤/龍蝦包),揀左最原汁原味既水煮(=蒸)。Boston Lobster超新鮮,肉質好爽彈又鮮甜,連龍蝦鉗都好鮮嫩既肉質,好多時啲鉗既尖尖位都會粉啲,但佢真係超新鮮又鮮嫩。好貼心龍蝦鉗已經起埋肉,連鉗內既骨都起埋👍🏻火侯又控制得剛好,爽彈又嫩,一啲都唔會韌。配埋蒜蓉牛油又另一番風味😍蒜蓉牛油好味到想用黎塗麵包😂仲配埋薯條同沙律。薯條就正常。沙律有多款菜mix埋,最特別係有埋蔥🤔🤣 不過一隻Boston 龍蝦黎講,呢個定價有啲太貴…🙈

Beef Wellington (2 person) 🥩❣️
威靈頓要整得好一啲都唔易,所以都冇乜特別期待會整得有幾好🙈職員問 佢地既Beef Wellington 廚師係會將佢焗到medium rare 咁出餐o唔ok。平時小妹最生只接受到medium,今次就試一次廚師推介medium rare🙈本身已經寫係2人份,黎到見到每人份量都好足,目測起碼有4-5cm咁厚🤩,酥皮金黃色✨,好鬆脆又唔會俾肉汁浸淋左,中間夾左層ham同minced mushroom 都好香,重點到喇!中間牛柳望落都幾生😆呈酒紅色🍷,切落超級軟淋,唔洗用好多力去切開,口感都好軟冇筯。肉汁鎖晒係入面,證明佢焗好後rest得夠時間先切👍🏻(平時肉汁鎖唔住既話會整淋個酥皮)牛柳脂肪唔多,所以平時容易整到好鞋口,但佢呢個應該係暫時食過最驚艷的🤩🤩🎉配菜薯蓉都好香夠滑。仲有羊肚菌同蘆荀,配燒汁

4/5Best seafood platter I’ve ever tried! Most seafood they have different little bit of seasoning with heart. Scallops with ponzu and apple, especially love the lobster with samboca. Loveliest lobster bisque ever, gentle not over powering, the more you sip the more you will love it. Risotto is nice but average, chicken is tender moist with classic sauce and creamy mashed potato.

Best seafood platter I’ve ever tried!

Most seafood they have different little bit of seasoning with heart. Scallops with ponzu and apple, especially love the lobster with samboca.

Loveliest lobster bisque ever, gentle not over powering, the more you sip the more you will love it.

Risotto is nice but average, chicken is tender moist with classic sauce and creamy mashed potato.

Main dish roast beef 🥩 ,配上Yorkshire pudding ,好香既牛肉,份量好足

Dessert 分面叫左sticky toffee pudding, 好耐無食過,醬方面甜左一啲,棗仁味道經典,同英國食既一模一樣。真係非常滿足☺️

Pic 1️⃣: Lobster Roll (+ a supplement of $200 hkd) 🦞
— Can’t come to Lobster Bar without ordering any lobster right? 😂 Can’t deny this was a really tasty lobster roll, loaded with a generous amount of fresh poached lobster and mixed with their yuzu kosho mayonnaise, this was simply irresistible. The brioche was nicely toasted and had a really buttery taste to it. The fries on the side were not so great though, they didn’t seem very fresh and were really chewy. The mixed salad on the side was a great way to balance out the heaviness of this dish. However, I would say that a supplement of $200 hkd for this is a bit steep, considering the original price of the lunch.


Pic 2️⃣&3️⃣: Fish Burger 🍔
— Heard so many things about this infamous fish burger and I’ve finally tried it! The sole fillet was evenly coated in their panko-crust and nicely deep fried. Though the cheddar cheese was a bit too overpowering and masked the taste of the fish. Overall a really good burger but quite heavy and greasy.


Pic 4️⃣: Tuna Tartar 🐟
— Tuna was fresh but the seasoning was a bit too acidic for me. Thought this could do with a bit more salt as well.


Pic 5️⃣: Gravadlax 🐠
— This was a refreshing appetiser to start off with, I thought their house-cured salmon was quite tasty and fragrant. The honey mustard and dill dressing were light and easy on the palate.


Pic 6️⃣: Mud Pie 🥧🍫
— SO GOOD. I understand why people order this whole from Lobster Bar now. This decadent pie is for every chocolate lover out there, as it incorporates 3 different types of chocolate (white, milk & dark) to give it that rich taste and contrasting textures. I was expecting this to be overly heavy/sweet but I couldn’t stop eating it 😂 Their chocolate cookie pie crust was to die for as the slight saltiness really elevated the whole dessert.


Pic 7️⃣: Yuzu Meringue Pie 🍋
— A more refreshing dessert choice. The yuzu curd was light and had the perfect amount of acidity to it, which balanced out the sweetness of the meringue really well.

突然很想吃龍蝦包的一天,又想去環境很好的地方,想起shangrila 的lobster bar. Lunch set 真的性價比高又好吃,本來只有3courses, 因為太想食龍蝦,忍唔住加了一個龍蝦湯,龍哥湯夠濃淍龍蝦又多,太好味,值得加錢點的龍蝦包無可挑剔,很喜歡它的龍蝦包酱汁。吞拿魚他他也是一貫的好味,成個lunch 識得好飽好滿足呀,好推介lobster bar 這個午餐,大約人均800元,酒店餐廳而言也不算太貴。
