Went here after work for happy hour with my friends. They serve a wide range of wines and you could have cold dishes to munch on while sipping your choice of beverage. Needless to say, the wine tasted amazing — worth to have one Michelin star for this place! My friends and I also order a pizza with half pesto tomato and half mushroom mozzarella. to finish the night, we each got a cake. 2 flavours were chosen: hazelnut and strawberry cheesecake. These cakes are freshly made everyday by the top chef in Hong Kong — nothing to complain about!!

記得之前係太古食lunch食過覺得都ok,所以係唔知食咩既情況下就揀左呢間。應該因爲周末關係,人不算多,所以都幾寧靜。因爲唔算太餓既關係,所以叫左唔多野食,只係叫左個沙律、Pizza同fritto misto。所有野都好普通,所以都幾失望。沙律係最好食,因爲完全唔需要煮,食材新鮮就可以。個Pizza好單調,餅皮又唔脆,食一塊都可以,但2個人食就食到悶。最差就係fritto misto,勁厚粉,咬完睇個橫切面發現d粉令食材大左一倍,完全食唔到本來個食材既味道,淨係食到粉味,完全係浪費晒d海鮮,仲要$290一碟,超唔抵。總括而言,食物超級普通,但份量都幾大份,性價比唔高。

Nothing I had in CIAK was bad, but nothing was a true standout either. I went for lunch and this may have been the first time where I thought the a la carts menu was the more economical choice compared to the lunch set which was ~$300 for just 2 courses. Also within the lunch menu choices there were a couple options that had supplementary costs, for example a tuna tartare appetizer would cost ~$80 more - it’s a bit much. Anyways me and my friend then decided to split two dishes from the a la carte menu. My eyes were immediately drawn to the black truffle carbonara, which was priced ~$600! That would’ve been a record for the amount of money I’ve spent on one dish of pasta, so we decided to settle for the regular carbonara which was ‘just’ ~$200. And added a spicy sausage from the charcoal grill menu. The complimentary bread we were served was good quality, wish it was served warm, not wow but not bad either. The carbonara was just ok, there’s nothing special to write about it except I’ve had better and larger carbonaras in HK for half the price. The sausage was quite yummy, loved the charcoal flavor, though given that there were two options for the sausage: original and spicy - it wasn’t as spicy as I had hoped. It was served with some horseradish sauce and bread - but I feel they could have done a bit more with it too. This dish was ~$150 Portions were a little on the small side too. Service was decent. The atmosphere is casual - again not indicative of the price. I am willing to shell out money for a great meal - simple Italian food has to be perfect to justify this price. If the food isn’t worth it I would at least want something else nice views, elegant seating - something, but ciak doesn’t offer that either unfortunately.

Overall not worth it, and disappointed, but have heard comments that this restaurant was good once upon a time. Since nothing was ‘bad’ per say I’ll give it an OK rating.

I had visited CIAK - in the kitchen a few times and I remembered that their pizza was so good. I had been craving pizza and finally revisited this place. We both ordered this appetizer. This appetizer required a top-up of $80 from their lunch set. The beef tartare itself was so dry and seemed not fatty enough while the rocket and cherry tomatoes were fresh. The Parmesan shaves tasted good with great texture.

These two flavours were worse than the one we had last time, which I recalled was Pesto (Mozzarella, pesto sauce, semi-dried cherry tomato, sun-dried tomato and shaved parmesan cheese). Last time it was so freshly baked, crispy and juicy. This time Norcina seemed so dry while the sausage and mushrooms were nothing special. Estiva was better as it was less dry with the cherry tomato and rocket but the Parma ham was a bit too salty. The crust was not so crispy and much less freshly baked like before. I was so disappointed.

The red snapper was so dry and rough, maybe a problem of pan-frying? The skin was crispy though and the bell pepper sauce was ok which tasted very natural. The baby corn was ok too.

I didn't get to try the pork neck and just had a sip of the sausage which was too salty. The mash potato was very smooth.

We added $60 + 10% for a dessert each which seemed to be quite a good deal. The bonet was sticky and was quite delicious with amaretti flavour. The vanilla ice cream was ok.

The cheese cake was like mousse. There were quite a lot of berries to eat with the cheese cake. The blood orange sorbet was ok too. The thin sliced biscuit was delicious.

The overall quality of food seemed to have deteriorated except for the desserts. We might not come back again given the price of the food which couldn't be justified by the quality anymore.

题外话/补充资料: However, I was "stabbed" by one of the waitress with her plate on her way back to the kitchen. She didn't stop and just keep pushing into my forearm. Luckily, nothing was on the plate except a piece of leftover bread. No apologies was made. So, sorry, if that's how they treat their guests, I'd better dine somewhere else.

Centering on traditional Italian craftsmanship and capped off with the coronet of one Michelin star, the restaurant ditched the sumptuous decoration. Instead, it extended the homely ambiance in this gargantuan space: amber lighting under wood-paneled ceiling, open kitchen stations on one side and bookshelves on the other; mopping the floor with tiles, and arraying the wooden tables and chairs.

As soon as we cruised the strip, the freshly oven-baked aroma couldn’t wait to flock to us enticing our palate

As soon as we got seated, a bread basket, which comprised crispy sticks, ciabatta and grano spezzato, was warmly served. When it comes to appetizer, nothing beat a warm basket of bread with olive oil and vinegar.

We eased into the menu, reading all those exuberant descriptions while sniffing and peeking around. There was no doubt we couldn’t make up our mind to satisfy all our desires
. After minutes of struggle, we picked a pizza, a pasta and one from the charcoal grill. Thanks to the good ambiance and extraordinary food, we had an unexceptional appetite to finish all with a dessert winding up!

The restaurant was considerate enough to offer an option of choosing two flavours
, and we picked pesto with sun-dried tomatoes as one half and homemade sausages with mushroom as another half. Committing to present the authentic Italian craftsmanship, their pizza, unsurprisingly, reined the best I ever had in town! 

The crust was simply perfect - well blistered after oven-baked and adorned with agreeable char
. Thanks to 36 hours of natural fermentation that gave the dough the finest extensibility, the base was churned with thickness right on point – thin yet faultlessly chewy
– and presented the complex and nutty fragrances from different Italian flours, which went harmoniously with the robust smokiness – SCRUMPTIOUS. 

I was particularly in favour of the pesto sauce, the powerfully aromatic basil resonated with smattering of lactic mozzarella and sour sun-dried tomatoes – DOOZY
that went a long way. The other half with sausages and mushroom, even it was still woven with a slather of mozzarella, fell a bit on the blend side.

The meal started off on a high noteimparting us anxiety about the upcoming dishes. Up next was the classic Carbonara, which was made with tagliolini, a thin cylindrical pasta that works best with cream sauces.

Playing hard on the “stay Italian” game, their carbonara distinguished itself from those we ordinarily eat – the creaminess, instead of cream and whole eggs, was mostly attributed to egg yolks. The dish was on a quite monotonous side, merely unleashing proclaimed hits of custurdy egg flavours
, which in turn concealed drizzles of black pepper and little splash of bacon, not very much to my liking. 

I was so obsessed with their tagliolini though
, featuring handmade egg pasta’s uniquely raw yet springy texture faultlessly to render itself out from all those alleged "handmade pasta specialists". The pasta was on a rather hard side, perfectly to be intermingled with carbonara

The little fallback from the previous dish was soon slashed out by the pork neck. I am never a pork person, or even a meat person, so I always resist ordering meat when eating out. However, the irresistible aroma of grease from the dining tables nearby coaxed us to have a try, which ended up to be the best degustation experience of the night

When the pork neck was first served to our table, it kept oozing divine aroma of grease, mingled with super tang from pork
, that we couldn’t wait for taking another Instagramable photo. 

The pork had already been cut into pieces, revealing streaks of delicious fat marbling in the succulent flesh. Carefully grilled to medium rare, the inner layer stayed pinkish red while the outer layer was woven with a nice sheet of grease. When I had a bite of it, the grease immersed into the super tender pork to burst into the tangiest decadent that we couldn’t stop munching on


The salt, black pepper and butter served together with the dish were never needed, because the pristine ingredient was already the strongest standing by itself
.

We were satiated, but a night can’t be perfect without dessert, especially on this special night celebrating my
friend’s birthday. We ordered a lemon tart.

We are definitely a risk taker
, for lemon tart is always the best single gauge of a bakery’s quality t – either sublime or a complete failure; no mediocrity. Thanks God we were brave enough to make this move and brought ourselves this heavenly goodness


There was a perfect dance to balancing the sweet and tart flavours appropriately
; the tarty filling, never buttery or eggy, was so lemon and contrasted nicely with crispy praline. A dollop of vanilla ice-cream gave the final punchy touch to the dessert – BRAVO
!


All in all, it was a delicious line-up of skillfully executed classics staying authentic.  At this affordable price, we could hardly find other restaurants having dishes with a lot of depth like those we found here. I would definitely come back for another traditional homely Italian dining experience

classic carbonara, 從賣相已覺得它應該是很creamy的. 試一口, 果然如此, 其意粉真的很al dente, 吃得出是自家製的, 彈牙非常, 嚼勁十足, 讚! 那個蛋黃sauce非常濃厚creamy, 只是黑椒略為下多了一點, 否則是完美的作品.


Wagyu beef Bolognese in traditional style, 筆者反而不太愛這一道. 用上和牛, 牛的味道的確濃郁, 但因質感已成肉醬, 完全吃不到它的口感, 有點浪費. 那個闊條麵, 是異常的硬身, 感覺太生了, 不欣賞.

午餐時間來,有訂位所以即入,但其實有一半左右吉位... anyway 這不太重要。不是上班日子的午餐,令Lunch Set價錢變得不算貴,而事實上亦有value of money,以下詳述 :麵包就一般啦,個南瓜湯都真係外國口味,濃濃的。野米沙律,d米就真係硬左d,味道清新到有少少草清。水牛芝士Pizza --- 真心要讚,我印象中係意大利或者瑞士既意大利餐廳食過同類既野,呢度既質素真的很接近了。咁岩,我當天想食得清新d,呢個pizza唔膩,成件事的味道好夾,我俾足100分佢呀 !龍蝦Pasta就ok啦,個粉都做得幾好,蝦肉不是最好也不太差,整體味道亦不錯。芝士蛋糕 --- 太多牛奶味,其他味都冇位置容身啦 ! Speechless, amazing dinner environment. I eat the Pizza Margherita with Parma ham, and was great. Parma ham was without fat and quality was very good. But what make me very happy was the Italian Homemade sausage. Remind me the real Italian Sausage Taste!!. Valentino did amazing job!!! Will come again since i have to try pasta homemade and italian sausage spicy and more.

今晚同幾個朋友喺中環dinner gathering..由於我哋三個都係女士比較細食,所以點選嘅嘢唔係好多,但係冇諗過咁好味,一流嘅意大利餐廳,首先一開始麵包食完亦有得refill。。我自己就最鍾意食個長條形脆脆但係最出色真係佢哋嘅pasta,非常有鮮味,味道恰到好處必食推介,燒春雞味道一般,但仍保留好多雞汁,略嫌個皮有少少燶,本身想叫pizza,但因為驚食唔晒所以最後放棄左,但見到隔離枱又叫,賣相都非常唔錯,如果多人嘅話可以叫黎試下

Visited CIAK a few times since it's opening so this is a summary of my several dinning experiences. Food was mostly delicious but not quite sure if it's up to Michelin's standard. This pizza was terrific! The crust had the perfect consistency and the mozzarella cheese was sooo good🤤 make sure you order this!!

Topped with parma ham, gorgonzola, taleggio cheese and mozzarella, the pizza had a nice crust and consistency 😋The ham was outstanding but they were so generous with the portion, making the pizza a tad salty.

The Michelin starred restaurant also serves homemade pasta.

Tagliatelle | Prime beef and mortadella ham meatballs in tomato sauce🐮($220)

The tagliatelle pasta was so nice in texture but the tomato sauce was really blend. You'd expect some flavours from the prime beef meatballs but hmmm they also lacked seasonings.

But on a side note, the tagliolini in carbonara sauce ($190) was a good choice.

Each time I come here, I try to order something new, different and trust me. Never disappointed. Their portions are small and price is high but for anyone who appreciated quality over quantity this place is a gem. The food is incredible. Simple yet fulfilling. The interior is amazing. I have eaten here for casual lunches and dinners but also done client lunches. Service is impeccable PS: For first timers, highly recommend Pesto Pasta!

Wagyu Ragu with Tagliatelle Pasta - $140 (Small)
This came with plenty of meat ragu, which has been cooked until it's almost gelatinous - in comparison with the versions I eat in Bologna in my visits, this is more on the lubricated side. The wagyu beef flavour is actually quite pronounced, and needs a glass of red Italian wine to pair with, and surprisingly there wasn't much herbs taste beneath. Pasta was cooked to the perfect degree. ~ 8.0/10

Spaghetti Carbonara with Guanciale, Eggs, Pecorino Cheese and Black Pepper - $130 (Small)
A few foodies believe this is the best, traditional recipe Carbonara pasta in Hong Kong. I agree, as each strand of pasta is evenly coated with a melted cheesy and eggy sauce, with the almost fried guanciale pork cheek pieces crispy and fragrant with rendered fat. I personally think this is not as seasoned as I expect, so despite the look it could be even saltier and carry more cheese, as per the ones served in Rome. If you want another great authentic tasting Carbonara in town, you can also try out Tom Aiken's The Fat Pig version, which is similar in a sense but slightly heavier. ~ 8/10

36 Hours Fermented Dough Pizza, the Norcina with Pork Sausage & Mushrooms -
I have had the full round size, or this Pizza by the Slice al taglio style many times, and it remains one of the best pizza's in town. The dough has a wheaty taste from the careful fermentation, and despite the abundance of melted cheese on top, the sausage meat and mushrooms always stand out. And per slice is only $58 and makes for a good lunch option. ~ 9/10

Chorizo & Tomato Tagliatelle -
This is eaten at the Taikoo's CIAK All Day Italian outside, which serves some simpler pasta's at the open tables. It's priced around the $78-88 dollar range and is quite affordable for a Michelin grade Italian venue. Obviously, dining inside at the finer tables is more sophisticated, but customers can get to choose on the day of dining. ~ 6.9/10

All Day Focaccia's Sandwiches -
This is the Wagyu Beef version, which was served in Taikoo but nowadays has been replaced with other flavors, and occasionally I chomp on a vegetarian version with peppers and pumpkin. Priced at the $58-68 range, it even comes with a salad and soup during Lunch hours. So for a Bib Gourmand or Michelin 1 Star rated venue, you can still grab a decent affordable lunch.

Tiramisu -
There are two versions served here, this one is the take out version. It also happens to be the best Tiramisu I have ever had in Hong Kong, to the point I rated it above 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo's own tiramisu. Nowadays they are only making an eat in version in the main dining area, but apparently this works on rotation and I wished they brought this recipe back to the open tables section since sometimes, we all just want a casual relaxed meal and a great dessert made very well to finish!

因為好朋友生日關係就去咗位於中環嘅"CIAK"入到去環境都舒服好啱傾計。我哋叫咗啲意粉不過可能我唔慣食,感覺好似未熟(雖然知道佢哋係咁嘅煮法)入正題....好地地一間斯斯文文嘅餐廳同"人在野"有咩關係?!就係佢塊T骨牛扒 我感覺到我好似要化身成為獅子去迎合呢舊T骨牛扒。首先試咗西冷部分難得冇渣 仲要煮得啱啱好成舊放落肚...滿足 !再嚟食埋牛柳 仲感動 林林嘅肉剛好嘅油脂 簡直係同對面嘅西冷鄰居做到一個對比。最後我仲輪埋舊T骨 呢舊骨簡直係精髓 有啲根有啲油脂有啲肉加埋一齊食真係唔簡單。當然呢啲環境輪骨係有難度!食埋甜品·····真係郁唔到啦~生日快樂之人在野任務完成!

最後我仲輪埋舊T骨 呢舊骨簡直係精髓 有啲根有啲油脂有啲肉加埋一齊食真係唔簡單。
當然呢啲環境輪骨係有難度!
