去吧食越南菜, 都係第一次 。謝謝舊同事的推介,今晚我來到位於銅鑼灣偏僻窄巷的這家。。。新派越南餐廳 吃晚飯。 來ㄧ試他們的 招牌名物 還有。薯條炸得脆脆,還配了味粉。 另送你三色醬,任點、任混。 咦!我沒有去錯麥當勞喎!!!主菜來了。。。越南湯河湯底濃郁, 但是有一點過鹹 。河粉沒有淥得太熟 ,因此保留了一點 彈牙口感。 整個 湯河 其實弄得不錯 ,味道也不錯。。。這裏的食客,都是附近的時尚達人。。。 穿著光鮮 ,甚有明星feel 。好在我福福郎 今天也穿了西裝, 還插了袋巾, 憂鬱之中帶一點韓國oppa feel 。。沒有失禮 中環人。To see and to be seen, 呢個世界唔係個個有資格做花瓶。 C'est ma vie, c'est magnifique !!!😎😎

主菜來了。。。越南湯河湯底濃郁, 但是有一點過鹹 。河粉沒有淥得太熟 ,因此保留了一點 彈牙口感。 整個 湯河 其實弄得不錯 ,味道也不錯。。。

這裏的食客,都是附近的時尚達人。。。 穿著光鮮 ,甚有明星feel 。好在我福福郎 今天也穿了西裝, 還插了袋巾, 憂鬱之中帶一點韓國oppa feel 。。沒有失禮 中環人。

做運動前諗住輕食,見到呢間越南牛河無人排隊,所以入左試下點知原來銅鑼灣無排隊嘅食店真係.........諗下好啦.......生熟美國頂級牛肉河粉好在夠多配芽菜、洋蔥、蔥,份量亦都夠。另外牛肉都OK但食越南河個中點係湯底:唔夠清,無咩牛味/香草味整體麻麻地~ 同埋偏貴~ 同一價錢,米芝蓮BRASS SPOON好似抵好多~春卷被騙!!! 炸得好油,無肉,得芋頭Bar檯有得叉電,唔錯,岩晒行左成日街嘅人另外餐廳雖然坐bar 檯高凳,但張凳夠闊,所以OK唯一唔OK係open kitchen 令市內油煙味好勁

食物唔可以話特別差, 但又唔特別好,個牛肉同粉就真係好一般🙄,以呢個咁貴的價錢來說,難怪星期日都冇乜人⋯⋯但,連可樂係凍呢個咁卑微的要求都達唔到,仲話可能雪櫃唔夠熱,我對呢間餐廳仲可以expect  d乜呢⋯⋯個秘製薯條一味得個辣字,係咁落好多辣粉,但味道又係普通!中環嗰間我去過,食物質素都ok...加上中環租貴,收咁貴都可以理解,但cwb收呢個價錢但食物卻如此質素,應該好難維持落去!希望可以有所改善!

5月1日勞動節,去完赤柱拍拖後,我們就去了銅鑼灣食晚餐。在拉麵和越南河之間,我們最終揀了這間新式的越南河。Today was Labour Day, after going to Stanley, my girl and I went to Causeway Bay to have dinner.We decided to eat either ramen or pho, and finally we went to this modern pho  restaurant.至尊河粉包括了生熟牛柳片/牛腩/牛肉丸/牛栢葉/牛尾/牛展/扎肉。湯底比較濃,第一次食牛尾,太肥膩。Supreme Combo included medium rare filet mignon, briskets, beef balls, tripe, oxtail, beef shank, and cha lua.The soup was rich in flavour. 冰山燒豬頸肉,冰山是指生菜。
將微暖的豬頸肉沾些魚露,然後夾在生菜裏食。
豬頸肉若然不沾魚露,味道略淡。
Grill pork jowl with lettuce may not limit to Vietnam, but maybe South East Asia.
The pork jowl was a bit light in taste if you did not eat with fish sauce.
题外话/补充资料: 假期店內人亦不多,但很多人透過外賣apps叫外賣。 There were not much people even it was holiday, but many people ordered delivery through apps.

And here comes Pho Bar. Opened in Central, they recently opened a new branch in Causeway Bay. I had heard good things about it and was always curious to try. Set up like a ramen shop, it played stylish hip music. The staff was hip. Everything was cool.

Ordering was like a ramen shop. You check off what you want and add condiments as you need. They also offer the very trendy zoodles (zucchini sliced so thin, it's like pasta). Menu in Chinese and English. They offer free water with a lot of lemon in it in the form of a water bottle. Just like a ramen restaurant. Prices aren't cheap but there is no 10% service charge.. You're average $80 a bowl of pho.

I ordered this: a supreme combo. I mean ... might as well go big, right?  This included medium rare filet mignon, brisket, beefy meat balls, tripe, whole pieces of ox tail, beef shank and Vietnamese sausage.  All for $88. I also added mint, Thai basil, bean sprouts and scallions. I had the thin noodles.

The  first thing that makes or breaks a good bowl of pho is the soup. The soup was a complete fail. It was lukewarm. There wasn't a strong taste of beef. There was far too much other flavors but no beef. It was a healthy bowl of soup though as there was no oil in it. At all. I had never had pho where there was no oil! The noodles were chewy and quite ok. The ingredients were quite good but super small pieces. The ox tail were mini! I had never seen such mini ox tail before. Even the tripe was small and thin. Portion size was not big. It's ok for me but I can see a heavier eater leaving the shop starving.

Pho that is geared for the hip and cool. It tries to be chic but yet fails in being nothing more than superficial. Pho is not about using filet mignon or wagyu beef. It's all about the intense beef broth that warms your soul and keeps you happy.. It's a comfort food. And the broth didn't do that. It was nice. It was chic. But it failed in giving me a warm feeling of love. It felt sterile and sad.

I'll probably be back as I want to try the zoodles next time. I doubt it would taste good with pho but I'm curious if it would work in place of cold vermicelli. If I'm going to a hipster pho place, I might as well not do the pho and just go with trendy and not normal. So, zoodles will be my next attempt at this place. I may be back. But not for the pho.

It's been a while since i have found a decent bowl of Pho in HK. Don't get me wrong, there are many places that       offer  bowls that feature the very best of ingredients from wagyu beef Pho to just a normal bowl but offered at a 5 star environment etc. but that just isn't exactly what I like. 
How do i define my perfect bowl? Soup base has to be flavorful but not bombarded with MSG, portions should be regular sized and not "tea time combo" sized and there has to be 金邊粉 as a noodle option. Some places called it vermicelli, others flat noodles, and to be honest i'm not sure how to describe it but the simplest way is that it's essentially the same noodles used in Pad Thais. The noodle texture is slightly chewy, and much more of a mouthful than standard Cantonese rice noodles but nowhere near as large as flat "Hor Fun". 
The pricing was no surprise and didn't come as shock when we took a look at the menu for the first time. The cheapest option for a beef pho option was 68$ with the "supreme" option which we opted for being priced at 88$. There was a lot of customization allowed ranging from noodles types, condiments to additional toppings instead of just "extra meat". Extra toppings were 15$ each and we both opted for 3 each, Noodles, and 2 other meats and that brought our individual  orders to 133$. This makes it much pricier than a standard bowl at our old "go to" pho venue but it was worth a try.

The appearance of the prepared bowl was nice and appetizing but it did take too long. We went for dinner and there was maybe 7-8 people, but the long wait makes me wonder how lunch service would be. The soup was the major issue i had with this bowl, It may just be that the flavor isn't what i like but it carried a sour flavor throughout. I doubt it had anything to do with ingredients going bad, and instead probably due to the use of a lot of lime. The sourness took over the bowl and it wasn't before long that i had to add siracha to the soup to attempt to mask the taste. Portions were healthy, even without adding noodles i believe it would have been a satisfying amount for lunch or a smaller dinner. The toppings were plentiful and we couldn't really identify how much each "15$" really added so either the 88$ bowl is amazing value or the 15$ extra is amazing value. One or the other. 
On a side note, their full menu is not available yet as we wanted to sample the Pho poutine but were dissapointed when told it was not available. Only a few items were currently available so you may want to check with the waitress early to not be dissapointed at the time of ordering!

Besides the sourness of the soup, the noodles were great, the toppings were plentiful and the overall taste of EVERYTHING but that sour flavor was great. The location was nice, a nice sushi bar concept with high bar chairs was a nice change to the traditional pho restaurant. Pricing was a bit expensive but adding toppings is not a must! so i would consider the range fair for Causeway Bay. 
I am willing to give it another shot but if it happens again, I'll continue on my search for HK's best bowl of Pho.

新開的店子,裝潢簡約,乾淨俐落,店內全部坐椅圍著bar枱坐...menu選擇不多,但都不小...Order雜錦牛鍋金邊粉,要求淋d,上桌時,份量並不多,牛柏葉,牛腩,牛肉都頗淋,每樣份量很小,但湯底咸度頗高,加上,自己錯手灑多了魚露,(此魚露似潮州魚露,不是平常越南式的美味魚露)結果,咸到不能下嚥!不會再來了!
