為鼓勵食肆透過提供食物份量選擇和採取減少廚餘措施,與顧客共同從源頭減少廚餘,環境保護署推出了「咪嘥嘢食店」計劃,參與食肆如符合評核準則將獲「咪嘥嘢食店」認可資格和獲發「咪嘥嘢食店」的標誌及標貼,以供張貼於店舖內和宣傳,供顧客識別。此計劃全年均接受申請,申請費用全免。

On my last night in Hong Kong I discovered this restaurant. Wonderful food in relaxed atmosphere with very friendly staff. I was hoping to have noodles but was too late in the day for them. The manager treated me to something special that was even more of a representative food of HK than noodles. It was delicious. Sadly I was too full for one of their home-made drinks. I will definitely be back, on another trip to Hong Kong.

星期六要去港大校園上課, 下課後在校園搵食, 來到這間素食餐廳, 週末人不多, 容易搵位.餐廳設計簡潔, 有大玻璃, 自然光, 木枱木椅, 右邊有個像自助餐的範圍, 食客拿碟挾菜, 大約有十款餸菜選擇, 都是素食, 也有蒸餃, 炸春捲之類的點心, 揀完後去收銀處磅重及付款, 然後在旁邊裝飯及湯, 再找座位.小編沒有喝湯, 只喝清水, 食物味道都很正常, 但蒸餃不夠熱而且皮厚, 有待改善. 飯是糙米, 可以任裝! 餐廳職員服務態度很好, 本來食客應該要自己收拾的, 但職員見小編在收拾時也主動過來幫忙, 抵讚.

小編沒有喝湯, 只喝清水, 食物味道都很正常, 但蒸餃不夠熱而且皮厚, 有待改善. 飯是糙米, 可以任裝!

想吃个清淡的下午茶,于是搜索到了这家素食,点了他家的喜悦下午茶。5选2,28港币。服务员告知他家的特色一盏两串没有了。于是我点了肠粉和糯米鸡。附送了一杯饮料,我选择了核桃豆浆。菜盘拿到,量出乎意料的大,很抵食。但是味道实在差强人意:肠粉虽然颜色很深但是没什么味道,糯米鸡里面也没什么夹心。核桃豆浆也很寡淡,只能说无功无过吧。很久没有吃到这么难吃的饭了。。。作为一个吃货,我觉得吃完这些东西,我的整个天空都黯淡了。结论:暂时不考虑回访了。

5选2,28港币。服务员告知他家的特色一盏两串没有了。于是我点了肠粉和糯米鸡。附送了一杯饮料,我选择了核桃豆浆。

菜盘拿到,量出乎意料的大,很抵食。但是味道实在差强人意:肠粉虽然颜色很深但是没什么味道,糯米鸡里面也没什么夹心。核桃豆浆也很寡淡,只能说无功无过吧。

很久没有吃到这么难吃的饭了。。。作为一个吃货,我觉得吃完这些东西,我的整个天空都黯淡了。

结论:暂时不考虑回访了。

9月頭同朋友一齊去一念素食dinner! 搵左一段時間路先搵到,問學生唔係個個知喺方,最好搵定路先去啦!因為我遲到關係,朋友們一早就起筷,雖然係咁,不過啲蒸餃凍左都唔硬,依然咁好味!松茸茨實薏米燉湯 - 好飲,一飲就飲到松茸味! 佢既燉湯完全一啲油都冇,好中意似冇油既素燉湯! 清清地,飲完好舒服!义燒串燒 - 好掛住個串燒,啲义燒用麵根做,燒到少少燶,我覺得好味過食真义燒!鮮露筍炒茶樹菇 - 啲菇好似包左層麵粉炸完再炒,吸左啲汁好好味,令普普通通既味菇吸引好多!脆絲檬粉配山葵薄荷汁 - 佢既口感好特別,望落去炸到黑黑地,好似好硬,不過原來咬落係軟林林,我覺得好似食緊炸豆腐總括黎講係好味既,不過份量岩OL食多啲! 我嗰日搵路加趕路,食完只係岩岩好,返到旺角又肚餓啦!

义燒串燒 - 好掛住個串燒,啲义燒用麵根做,燒到少少燶,我覺得好味過食真义燒!

鮮露筍炒茶樹菇 - 啲菇好似包左層麵粉炸完再炒,吸左啲汁好好味,令普普通通既味菇吸引好多!

脆絲檬粉配山葵薄荷汁 - 佢既口感好特別,望落去炸到黑黑地,好似好硬,不過原來咬落係軟林林,我覺得好似食緊炸豆腐


總括黎講係好味既,不過份量岩OL食多啲! 我嗰日搵路加趕路,食完只係岩岩好,返到旺角又肚餓啦!

家住近香港大學,喜歡菜是我的行動代號。一念素食,數年前開張時,我有心動過,但一直沒有去。終於去到了。我感受到佛學提倡的四聖諦。人生都是痛苦的。離苦得樂就是要看破他。我平常會煮菜,到外面餐廳選都喜愛選多菜的選擇。但充其量學校兩送飯都是二十多塊,也有很多菜。這家賣點是全素食的餐廳,我夾了平常兩送的份量,卻要花54塊,就是$16/100g計算。看他是什麼菜,老實說,我不太喜歡他的調味。不算清淡,但加什麼八角實在不動人。南瓜太硬,生生的感覺不太好。清炒小菜,可能更清新怡人。外面的$27外賣兩送飯,或者更化算。一念之間,我體悟了,還是嚐嚐就好,有時不要太認真。

由於最近流行Green Monday,所以今天學人食素,並試試聞名的HKU素食Canteen。這間飯堂主張環保,「食幾多拎幾多」,所有餸菜都按重量計算,我們預先上網看看,網友的貼示是盡量少選多汁的餸菜。這兒以自助形式運作,白飯、紅米飯、粥、素湯、熱茶免費任添,令人感覺輕鬆自在。餸菜方面,都是一般家庭小菜:腐皮卷最好吃,皮薄足料﹝但附有汁,可能比較重﹞。其次是煮南瓜,十分軟身,香甜入味。西蘭花、茄子、四季豆、紅蘿蔔、芋頭、豆腐等也不錯,味道清淡,沒有太多油份,應該很健康。我們選擇紅米飯,軟硬適中。素湯應該下了藥材,味道有點怪。整體來說,這個素食午餐既健康又好吃,但估不到原來餸菜這麼重,一小碟要60至70元,對學生來說有點貴。

突然想起自己去過這店,念念不忘,一定要好好介紹。這間素食店,都常常被傳媒報導,主打素食,最重要是按量收費,所以當然自己不是港大人,都要支持吓。現在有港鐵,去港大已是十分方便,所以不難找,去到時,見到琳瑯滿目的素菜,十分吸引,但按量收費的形式會提醒自己不要像一般自助餐這樣不停浪費食物(其實自己都少了自助餐的癮了),於是最後都是選了自己喜歡的。當中蔬菜都十分新鮮,沒有放太久而太老,當然素春卷十分脆及沒有油溢味,而冬瓜圃亦十分清新,值得推介,加上紅米飯和湯不會另外收費,尤其是瓜菜湯十分健康,不用怕食唔飽,又不會對身體有太大負擔,真的令我對素菜的認知有更新的了解。在大學真的需要有這麼多自主選擇,才可滿足那麼多學子的發展。不要一念之差,破壞那麼多年建立的優良傳統。

本來很欣賞,直至有一位侍應在我接近用餐完畢時,拿着抹枱布在我面前大力抹,甚至將桌子上的污物剩菜抹向我身上,推到我的裙上。我呆住了,真的被這位侍應粗魯的趕客行為嚇倒,有點驚訝。

一年後,從美國回來。再給她一次機會。上星期四晚約七時許,我獨自坐到樓梯前的長枱一角。

問過長枱另一端的4位女士,都說無人。怎料過了一會,有人來到我桌前大嚷,我抬頭,見一中年女侍應指着我,「呢度唔坐得㗎!」那種兇神惡煞的架勢,吸引了週圍兩三枱的目光。

有點embarrassed,十分的不解. 我說無任何"reserved"牌或其他指示,而且我先問過旁邊的食客. 但這位侍應竟然連一句「唔好意思」都無. 無謂同大嬸嘈,我搬去她指着的一張大圓枱。
連旁邊我問過的食客見狀都對我說sorry, 因為她們的確不知道這裡有人。我笑笑,自己來回走兩輪將杯碗碟餐具和私人物品搬過去。沒錯,是自己搬!

最弔詭的是到我食完離開,半小時都無人坐之前那張枱,亦始終沒有指示"reserved".

一次又一次經歷一念素食侍應無理,粗魯對待,可能我半年來一次都竟然不幸地遇到兩個惡侍應,但所謂一鍋粥裡有不是一粒,而是兩粒老鼠X,我終於「覺醒」了 。

連門面侍應待人都如此管理不善,更枉論見不到廚房內,餸菜的準備過程和衞生,叫人如何放心?

對一念素食非常失望,不會再來。
題外話/補充資料: 部份侍應很友善,但部份十分無理兇神惡煞,要有心裡準備吃飯受氣!請朋友不想失禮,就不要冒險來這裡!

Getting to this place was a little adventure - I decided that in order to work up an appetite after a day's work mostly sitting at my desk I would walk from my office in to the restaurant. This was mostly simple, just head west from central and up a little. Getting onto the campus however was a little trickier and involved taking the elevator from the station (very swish new elevators which have entry and exit sides), and then a long and very clean-looking new escalator. After the escalator I needed to get in another lift (although after eating I realised that a single elevator ride would have sufficed if I'd picked the correct floor). But the accidental extra trip was serendipitous as it meant I was able to have a quick look at some of the art work on display, (the Run Run Shaw building houses the creative wing of the university).

Outside the restaurant there are several ominous signs proclaiming that the establishment is for student and faculty members only and that during peak times you may be asked to show your student or staff I.D. card. However the restaurant was only part full and the head waiter gave me an encouraging look though the glass frontage and in I went. 

In fact that head waiter needs commending, he was everything I want a waiter to be; friendly, knowledgeable about what's on offer and quiet. He suggested that I go and have a look at the food first, he described what a few of the items were and then when I made up my mind to eat he found a suitable table for me. Half way through the meal he asked if I was enjoying it and seemed genuinely happy to learn that I did like it. 

The pay-per-weight method is a great way of portion control. I chose just about what I though would satisfy me and although when I finished eating I felt a little empty by five minutes later I was feeling comfortably full. The food itself was simple and pleasing and without excessive oil. A variety of textures and flavours. The cubed tofu dish was spicy, the tofu in courgette had a kind of nutmeg-like flavour, the beans were nicely cooked, still with some bite and the use of fake meat was well balanced, the dishes didn't rely on it but used it to add a different texture like the chewy strips with the beans or flavour like the slightly smoky sausages. 

The overall experience was a wholesome one: simple vegetarian food, an environment that promotes waste-reduction, clearing up after yourself promotes conscientiousness. The restaurant is also wheel-chair accessible (both for entry and the height of the tables), it appears to be an equal opportunities employer too so it gets top marks for ethical conduct which is awesome. 

I'll definitely return but I'll make sure to come out of peak hours.

So one day I decided that I want to have vegeterian food .There is only one veggie restaurant in HKU so I went to Bijas.It is like a buffet - You grab a plate and pick your own food , but then you go to the counter to weigh it and pay according to the weight of the food.It is a bit expensive but you get to have as many rice and soup as you can so it is worth it.The vegetables were delicious and there were also some veggie meat available. The vegetables were delicious and there were also some veggie meat available. Some of them tastes like actual meat and the flavour was well adjusted. The soup was good as well - it wasn't too salty nor sweet and the potato in the soup was delicious.
Good food but remember not to choose food with lots of liquid as it increases the weight of your plate

I must declare I am not a vegetarian but I really like eating the vegetarian food here!  All the food they make are delicious but sometimes a bit spicy like the one with potato and green beans. I love the tofu skin roll, I think the contains it has really match well. The eggplant with minced pork also taste good though I think it uses a bit more sauce than expected. The atmosphere is good, it is always clean and tidy. 堂食15蚊100g,好多餸揀😙,白飯同湯任食,啱曬大胃王!不過通常每樣餸夾少少就三四十蚊,食客要就住黎夾呀🙈仲有! 外賣1200-1330可以係門口買,兩個餸(random係入面拎出黎,日日/每個時段都不同),可揀飯或炒麵,可叫多量,抵食好多😘⋯所以話,食齋都可以食得好飽,最緊要健康!每日消費外賣:$25

First off... they really have much better coffee than the HKU Starbucks.  Depends on which waiter is making your coffee though xDHowever, the food is nothing amazing - it's good, but nothing of a wow for the price. To be really full, since you pay by weight, you probably need around 40+ hkd of veggies. The quality is like proper home-cooking.If I have to say something about what I don't like, it'd be their rice, and their bak kut teh noodle soup base for tea set. However, the food is nothing amazing - it's good, but nothing of a wow for the price. To be really full, since you pay by weight, you probably need around 40+ hkd of veggies. The quality is like proper home-cooking.
If I have to say something about what I don't like, it'd be their rice, and their bak kut teh noodle soup base for tea set. The rice is sometimes too hard; they probably didn't soak the whole grains before putting them into the rice-cookers.  The bak kut teh is incredibly bland. Nothing like the Singaporean/Malaysian ones where they originate.

On the bright side, they use rather good quality vegetables and the PASTRIES are must-trys.
Particuarly the crispy ones - if you see anything crispy like Chinese balls, grab it before others clear it out!
 They have salty balls or sweet balls depending on your luck, both are amazing dim-sums they don't always serve. Also only during lunch or dinner hours.

As I said, it's decent overall. Just not super exciting. My favourite part about Bijas is the raw materials for their veggie dishes.

It's the only vegetarian restaurant in HKU anyway, unless you go all the way to the Ebeneezer's (halal food) in Swire Building for their vegetarian pizzas or rice.
