Typically I'm writing the first non Chinese review of a semi local restaurant at just opened on the little terrace off the top escalator in Sai Ying Pun.
Been here twice now. Good English is spoke. And they explain the cuisine. It's a mix of noodle soups, chow Mein and more exotic dishes like frogs and chicken feet.
As a westerner I will naturally act with some trepidation so I went for the minced pork noodle soup $42. I went for medium heat. The pork was lovely and there was some bok chip included. The sauce was very hot and fragrant. Only groan was there were far too many noodles but you can ask for less.
Wife chose the mushroom and soy sauce noodles which is essentially the nearest to a British chow mein I have seen here. Very tasty and good portion size though little pricey at $78.
I ordered a side of pickled fungus $20 as I love the wobbly texture of this dish but it had wasabi in it that I can't stand. My workaround was to dip it in the soup to remove most of the wasabi taste.
Couple of vans of coke came for an additional $10
Really liked this place. Food was wholesome, fresh and served fast. Good portion sizes and the total bill plus a tip was less than $200. Hygiene levels above average.
As a postscript, I had lunch with a friend who chose super spicy and it was like ROCKET FUEL. He really struggled to eat it. Choose MEDIUM for a hot taste that is bearable.
