After really big dinner and tea, we decided to try 甜品堂 for its high ratings on openrice.We ordered Tirimisu and Creme Burlee with French toast and Vanilla IcecreamTirimisu tastes nice but was too runny and doesnt look too good...Creme Burlee was really nice! and the combination is really good.One minus for this place is that it needs to wait too long for the desserts to come

小週末忽然有空檔,就撩朋友食甜品.此店聞說一段時間,又近近地,便一試.2人叫左3隻甜品,有creme brulee, strawberry garden & 心太軟伴vanilla ice-cream.最好味都係creme brulee,滑,有蛋香, 加上大片脆焦糖,正!strawberry garden有同味雪糕+布丁, 士多啤梨都算多,但個雪糕還是haagen dazs好味D.心太軟夠香,即叫即焗.流心朱古力好rich,可能係最後一個甜品上台,有d膩了最開心係店子設計成班房一樣,menu如校簿,一台一椅都令人懷念上學既時代,不過這課係甜品,只有開心,唔會有壓力

我住在西營盤附近,所以我就常常幫襯. 它的tiramisu真是一絕,但是美中不足的是員工的服務態度。因為鋪頭是有一個開放式的廚房,所以坐在出面的我當見到廚房內的tomboy一路整野,一路看i-pad, 一路不停傾電話, 我真怕他的口水會滴落去d食物到。在最近的一次幫襯,我坐在廚房後面張台,.但後面個tomboy係度不停的罵客人,我都是做飲食的, 我真的想同她講一句: 今時今日這種服務態度是no way的了! 唉!請著這種伙計, 真是替老闆倒米. 食物雖然好,但服務態度真係有待改善喇!

食完晚飯十點左右,當時鋪頭無咩人可以任坐唔駛等選擇好多,有中式有西式,令人好頭痛,揀左好耐先揀到:焦糖燉蛋+瘋狂朱古力+北海道燉奶,可能無咩人,等左一陣就有得食!北海道燉奶: 真係麻麻,唔滑唔特別,失望瘋狂朱古力:brownie!! >w< 好朱古力!!如果濕多小小就更加好! 可能食完brownie後食布丁,感覺布丁無咩味....焦糖燉蛋:推介~真係好滑好好食又唔甜充滿蛋香!!!平均都滿意,但價錢偏貴左d!!食物size真係細左小小!!

After the dinner of local stir-fried dishes at Chen Si-Kee, we walked along Western Street until we reached the Third Street for a sweet dessert fix before departing for our homes. Sweet Classroom was a small shop and was crowded when we arrived; luckily four or five customers left the place upon seeing our big crowd outside the place to make room for us. The place's decor imitated that of a classroom and it was really cozy. It was really warm and stuffy too - is it because of the busy operatio

The warmth of the place had deterred me from picking a hot dessert. But as i was about to order a tiramisu for myself, the waitress (who was somehow rude) announced that it was out of stock.
How discouraging, and I had to flip through the menu for a few times before settling on a baked sago and lotus paste pudding, which i do not usually order at dessert places.

My dessert would not be ready before a 10-minutes wait while my friends' orders came.

First came the chilled oreo Serradura - an adaptation of the traditional Portuguese dessert. Did not try it myself but heard that the mousse was somehow tough and not smooth enough.

Stewed figs - tasted kinda sour due to the excess use of figs. Was not finished by my friend who was suffering from a flu by then.

Molten chocolate pudding: had to wait for 15 minutes before ready. The room was filled with the sweet aroma of baked chocolate when the dessert was ready, and how could it not look attractive with the nice dome (not scoop, mind you) of vanilla ice-cream on its side? The cake was a molten one despite the slowness of the flow.

My baked sago and lotus paste pudding was the last to arrive since i was also the last to order. Placed in a souffle case, it looked more burnt than baked. Smelt sweet of the lotus paste however, and the pudding consisted of a well-balanced portion of somewhat chewy sago and soft lotus paste. It was not over-sweetened, and was really good. ;)

Surprisingly, my baked sago pudding costed only $25 while others cost over $30. We also had a discount of 5% off. Would consider returning for a dessert fix if there were tiramisu next time.

吃過一頓山東菜,從第二街走至第三街,來到了「甜品堂」。小店英文名 「Sweet Classroom」,換而言之,這裡的一檯一櫈,都依足課室內的環境而設計,雖然座位排得比較密,坐落有點迫夾,但的確挺有心意的。吃甜品,除穩膽心太軟外,也想試點特別的,店員遂介紹了招牌 Tiramisu 和西多士麵包布甸,一於照單全收。另外,見餐牌上有一味港式奶茶燉蛋白,創意十足,我們當然也不會錯過!先來的是呈奶白色的「港式奶茶燉蛋白」($25),三人都覺得奇怪,因為絲毫沒有茶的感覺,遂請店員確認一下,他說:「對,是奶茶燉蛋白」。半帶懷疑的放入口,仍然得一股奶味,毫無茶香,再看看店員寫的單據,原來他寫錯了「北海道牛奶燉蛋白」...我們本想換回 「港式奶茶燉蛋白」,但店員向廚房查詢後,表示「奶茶燉蛋白」已沽清...(=__=) 至此,我們亦只得這個表情...回說其他甜品,Tiramisu ($32) 成一圓球形狀,以可可粉作點綴,內裡 mascarpone cheese 所佔的比重較多,並混入了不少 vanilla seed,入口軟滑之餘,也散發一點酒味,咖啡味可以再稍稍加強,而作為這裡的招牌,也是值得一試的。

西多士麵包布甸配香草雪糕 ($32),感覺是將三種「大纜都扯唔埋」的食物聚集一起,又或者雪糕和麵包布甸一冷一熱本是原配,而夾在中間的西多士就是第三者。結果,我選擇先吃掉西多士,細細的一塊,外層煎至香口,蛋香卻欠奉,而麵包布甸帶點濕潤,跟雪糕混在一起吃也不錯。

輕輕剖開滿心期待的心太軟 ($32),看著朱古力漿非常緩慢的流出,心裡打了個突,幸然味道尚算濃郁,反而蛋糕缺少了應有的脆脆口感,才是最大的問題!

About a month ago when I tried my luck here it was closed. Today, I came, it was open, and my food item somewhat disappointed me. I hope it's just me. Setting:It's a rather small restaurant, suited for couples or for groups of 4. We were a crashing horde of 11. Thankfully there weren't many patrons so after quickly arranging the wooden desks reminiscent of my junior+senior school days, we settled down at the long table. The menu itself was attractive and successfully whet my appetite for dessert

It all sounds and looks mouth-watering but it isn't, really. None of the three food items (ice cream, french toast, custard) tasted good at all individually. The vanilla ice cream was watery and bland, and melted too quickly. The French Toast tasted like oily bread, wasn't fried for a sufficiently long time, there was very little honey coating the toast which is really bad - and I would suggest that they spread some chunky peanut butter between the two pieces of white bread before deep-frying it. Would add a lot more much-needed flavour to the bland, bland french toast. Bland french toast? How bad can it get?
A good french toast needs to be - very hot, sweet, crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, flavorful, satisfying - something these bits of french toast failed to achieve!
Not sure what happened to the Custardy bread-and-butter-pudding-like form Supporting the toast and ice cream but it was just..not good. I ate half and left it alone. I ate most of the top - which was slightly more palatable than the stuff at the bottom. I think it tasted too eggy - and not sweet enough. Just plain unattractive. That is all. I hope you will improve, dear Sweet Classroom. I had high hopes for you!

Didn't try these coz I was sick and didn't want to infect my friends. But I had the pleasure of forking a small bit out of the chocolate lava cake. It was semi-sweet, slightly salted which brought out the chocolate - the whole thing looked pretty good. Solid.

Conclusion:
Not all hope is lost. I shall return for the apple crumble and tiramisu, two items gastronomerrr has commented on - I believe her taste.

I really like the middle-aged waitresses though.
So nice and friendly and laid-back.
That is the life.

尋晚想食糖水,就到睇睇openrice有嘜好介紹,之後揀左依間甜品堂,點內有雜誌的推介,好似好得。點知都係失望。我地點左佢所謂推介嘅芒果皇國,實在普通到不得了,芒果肉少得可憐,布甸好酸,唔好食,$30一啲都唔值,我地又點左腐竹意米蛋白同薑汁芝麻湯圓,好差。腐竹意米蛋白冇腐竹味,好稀,差過飲豆漿,薑汁芝麻湯圓喺超級市場買返屋企自己煮重好,我成日食甜品同湯水,一食就知佢地冇比個心出嚟做。做糖水presentation好重要, 但係連最基本的做得唔好,好快收檔。

之前睇到呢度食評個tiramisu好似好好味終於有機會黎食!!!一個好似25定係30蚊等左一黎送左上黎食落去,真係好好味!!夠凍得黎又唔會話好硬定係點入口果下好滑、好香完全係食一啖會繼續食落去唔停得口果隻唯一美中不足就係…太細份啦!!同埋底下個蛋糕(?)好似乾左少少

咁啱經過見到呢間店舖面其實唔係好吸引到我 反而係D枱櫈吸引我望清楚原來係間甜品屋好甜品既我即刻捉埋個朋友入去試入到去的確好有班房Feel 連Menu都係小學雞簿面 最欣賞係佢連D個Openning hour 都用學校既回條通告方式顯示 .夠特別!不過D枱太矮唔好坐 對腳無位擺 而且位與位之間空間唔夠 窄左D叫左個梳乎厘黎到比想像中大 不過不失個面有D會黑左不過由於佢係整定個Mixture擺係雪櫃 要至放入爐焗結果個梳乎厘個底有好多糖留係道一來浪費 二來提醒左食果個有幾多糖分唔敢再食整體OK 都唔平不過都值得一試既!

I have to act brave to try its tiramisu-afterall, its fattening, and i have been anorexic for a few months under the stress from a public exam! Thus, i had to pick a date to try its famous Tiramisu to suffer less from guilt, since i would have to adjust the amount of food i eat for the whole day. One day the perfect timing came, and i did not hesitate to go here for its signature desserts.this includes actually two visits to this cafe, so please do not mistake me for having two desserts at one t

Thus, i had to pick a date to try its famous Tiramisu to suffer less from guilt, since i would have to adjust the amount of food i eat for the whole day. One day the perfect timing came, and i did not hesitate to go here for its signature desserts.

this includes actually two visits to this cafe, so please do not mistake me for having two desserts at one time.


1st visit: i ordered a Tiramisu. It quickly came and i thought its presentation was nice-a perfectly scooped Tiramisu on a white plate with cocoa powder drizzled. i took a spoonful and man, it was SOFT, and SO RICH in texture! while other tiramisus i have tried might be hard in the middle or even bitter, because of the poorly poured coffee liqueur, this was perfectly soft and creamy at any point, without weird tastes and textures in the middle. it was OH SO GOOD, and was completely worth it!

2nd visit: after having a perfect apple crumble, i was curious about how Sweet Classroom interpret the same classic dessert. thus i gave it a try and ordered one, trying to have fruits instead of vanilla ice cream-and got a no-no response. fine then. i did not take a picture of the crumble for i was too anxious to eat, but it turned out to be disappointing-the apple filling was not tasty, its just not spiced enough-they got to be more generous with sugar and cinnamon. the pastry was also thinner and far less crispy. i skipped the ice cream-its so obviously 'daity farm', the vanilla flavour was just so artificial. what a pity. id stick to its tiramisu upon my next visit.

stick to the signature dishes id say, if you want to give this nicely decored dessert shop a try.

Desserts in this shop are sold around the $30 - 34 range, some carry as much as 3 items on the same plate. A bargain. Compare it to some other dessert shops located in much more populated areas with higher rental, or the much classier Dessert Bars - such as Riquiqui which charged $200 for 3 courses and an additional $100 for an extra middle course, this shop in Sai Wan is honestly not bad for what it aims to become! The Dessert Lady Chef here was trained under her tenure at BACI under the sup

Whilst I have no objections to think that this is located probably slightly out of the way of foodies, I do wish that hopefully it could do with slightly more improvements 1 day, for it to come out to be at the top of its game!

TIRAMISU -
This Tiramisu is made from around mostly Mascarpone Cheese (80%+), rather than the cheaper whipped cream or sabayon which makes up the rest of a tiramisu in many places. It therefore has a goodish creamy cheese taste. The inclusion of rum in the recipe was ok-good, it was quite alchoholic too, but it could do with more coffee espresso taste or other non-rum, too sweetened alcoholic taste. The texture was slightly too melty in the end - it started as watery eveh before I started spooning in. The presentation seemed amateurish too. Its slightly similar to the Tiramisu I had in Manchester United Bar in fact, as its dished out as a semi-spherical ball just minus the chocolate powdered checker flag pattern! Not bad overall. Room for improvement!

HOKKAIDO MILK SOUFFLE -
This is made using the quite famous MEG MILK from Hokkaido, presumably one of the best milks available from Japan despite being pasteurised. I am yet to ascertain whether its a Little Meg version or from a Big Meg.
Anyway when this arrived, at first I was astonished as to how it resembles more of a Baked Alaska than a typical French Souffle, since it had some burnt angular edges. It also had more of a denser texture than I'd have imagined. This was also quite big overall!

After my initial shock, I finally recalled that normal souffles are usually made from Egg-whites rather than Milk. So in a sense, this version is a novelty - despite it resembling more of a 太平館 version in its denser texture, for what it is in the end, I did enjoy it as it had a strongish milk taste. I sincerely believe mine one seemed slightly overly Baked-Alaskan like in its crisp & crusty burnt external texture, but disregarding the namesake, I must admit I enjoyed this in the end, when measure against nothing I could associate this with of previous experiences....

A PRETTY GOOD QUALITY DESSERT HOUSE OVERALL, BETTER THAN MANY OTHER PLACES OPENED BY SO-CALLED ARTISTS WHO HAS NO CLUES ON WHAT REALLY MAKES A HEARTY AND TRUE DESSERT. IT IS VERY AFFORDABLE VERSUS THE PRICE TOO, AND IF THEY COULD 'IMPROVE OVER TIME OF ITS RECIPES' AND WERE EVEN LOCATED IN A MORE CONVENIENTLY ACCESSIBLE LOCATIONS, I COULD SERIOUSLY IMAGINE IT TO BECOME A REAL WINNER 1 DAY IN THE FUTURE.

Tiramisu Showed Some Heart.. Yes.
