Went there for lunch on a Saturday. Not crowded so we were seated immediately. The 1st thing that surprised us is unlike most other Indian restaurants in HK, this place does not give free papadams. 2 of us ordered:Shrimp curry - the sauce was good but the shrimps were very small and overcooked, shrimp was almost mushy. Did have fresh ginger on top which was a nice touch. Aloo gobi - fine, no complaints. Pretty standard so hard to get this dish wrong. Again, had fresh ginger on toop which was goo

The 1st thing that surprised us is unlike most other Indian restaurants in HK, this place does not give free papadams. 

2 of us ordered:

Shrimp curry - the sauce was good but the shrimps were very small and overcooked, shrimp was almost mushy. Did have fresh ginger on top which was a nice touch. 

Aloo gobi - fine, no complaints. Pretty standard so hard to get this dish wrong. Again, had fresh ginger on toop which was good.

Garlic Naan - a bit too much ghee butter. Otherwise fine. 

Plain rice - overcooked, almost mushy. 

The service was OK. Total bill for what we ordered about HK$200. Amongst the Indian restaurants in HK, I would rate this slightly below average. Don't understand all the positive reviews.

我試過嘅大多數印度餐,通常d咖哩汁都係做到好浠,食嘅時候都好狼狽,悄不留神d汁就四圍漏~~都幾難享受~ 混埋烤餅一齊食嘅時候都真係幾尷尬~~
但**皇轎印度餐廳** 食物味道比平時嘅印餐廳溫度"熱"得多~! d汁唔會四圍走來走去~~而且味道濃郁!!! 咖哩香味撲鼻~~~~簡直係味覺同嗅覺同視覺嘅大享受~~~~~ 令我不禁一時''細味品嚐""~~ 一時"狼吞虎嚥''起來~~~

Walked past several times on the way to other places in the neighborhood and always meant to give it a try. When we made it at last the food didn't disappoint. There must have been prodigious amounts of salt, though, as there was much chugging of water early the next morning.Fish tikka was our chosen starter and the judges were split. Fish tikka was our chosen starter and the judges were split. The fish was flavorful (I'm guessing mackerel) and not too heavily seasoned. I thought it was more juicy than the typical offering which gets left too long in the oven and tends to be dry and a bit chewy. My partner in crime was less convinced.

Main courses were the lamb shank masala, paneer butter masala (hey, we like the sauce), and garlic chicken korma to add a bit of variety. The meats were both tender which was a bit of surprise for the lamb. The paneer was unremarkable but tasty nonetheless.

The gravies were delicious. This is one of the better korma sauces I've had...truly mild. The masala sauce wasn't too heavy on the ghee or cream and the acidity of the tomatoes really shone through. Kind of like home-style cooking in that sense with less emphasis on artery-clogging goodness.

A modest demerit for having given in to the local beer rep and replaced Kingfisher with Godfather. India has many find lagers to accompany dinner and I humbly submit that Godfather is not one of them. It isn't a horrible beer but just a bit more hoppy and yeasty than I want in a dinner beer. Why fix what ain't broke, it can't be worth that much extra margin if your custies aren't buying.

If you live within striking distance of Upper Central (generously including precincts on either side of Hollywood Rd) or TST there are equivalent or better options than Palki. But for a change of pace, particularly if you want to slide out of dinner and into a mango shaved ice, there's a lot to be said for it. Value for money (which tends to evaporate if you cab it there and back) is definitely a big plus.

Fine, we moved to another table. But when 2 western customers came in, she sat them down at the windows (they did not seem like they booked!). Then when we started to order, she was quite impatient and did not smile once! Throughout the night, she was not very attentive and it's only when my beer glass is empty when she comes ask if I needed another drink. Oh also, the food all came at once, the salad came along with the curry and bread and stuff.

Overall, if they can provide better training for that waitress (maybe she was having period or something, but anyway in the service industry, she needs to learn to be professional!), this restaurant is highly recommended. I am not usually hard to please and to be honest I did have very good service and experience the 3 times I came before. This time is just bad luck I guess.

Unfortunately, to my disappointment, my husband and I have tried several of Hong Kong's Indian restaurants and always found something lacking; no flavor in the food, terrible service, etc. After reading several reviews here on open rice about Palki, my husband and I decided to give it a try.

We didn't wait at all for a table, as we dined right as they opened on a slow Wednesday evening. The staff, (who I am assuming was a manager or owner?) seated us and offered beverages. He was very insightful on the house specialties and suggested that my husband try the King Prawn Tikka Masala. I ordered the Paneer Butter Masala and we both ordered the Peas Pulao. We didn't have to wait long for our food, but when it arrived it was hot and fresh and obviously not a leftover from lunch service. The spices and butter and cottage cheese blended perfectly together in the Butter Masala and the King Prawns were cooked to perfection and drenched in delicious Tikka sauce.

I suppose that all the negative reviews for this restaurant are probably from very needy and pretentious customers. Palki is not formal dining, but rather a very comfortable outlet where one can enjoy a San Miguel and some very delicious curries. If you have expectations for something more you're kidding yourself, but if you want wonderful food for a very affordable price, Palki is the Indian restaurant to visit. Tin Hau is a very nice and quiet part of town, so it affords a more private and intimate dining destination.

興有所致選了間印度餐廳晚飯,整體環境還蠻整潔優雅,背景播放着傭懶的印度音樂,有feel有feel~!!左上:軟牛油和芝士烤餅x2,我猜是即叫即做,因為食不到有'未熟的麵粉味'厚道剛,但我就是食不出來是兩種口味;右上:咖喱羊肉,肉質鬆軟不會太羶適合不常食羊肉的人,加上沒有肥膏每一口都是肉,咖喱方面味道很濃加上淡淡的椰香;右下:白咖喱牛腩,炆得還蠻入味,香料味比羊肉輕,純粹是我個人比較喜歡泰式的白咖喱所以覺得這個還可以,不是說不好ok! 左下:茄汁咖喱雜菜,讚香濃的咖喱並沒有把番茄味蓋掉,裡面有各種切成丁的蔬菜,煮得非常的入味光食這個應該可以食掉3份吧,如果在家我應該會舔碗,再去一定回點這個.最後,飲料部份是Mango Lassi和Strawberry Lassi中文我猜是芒果乳酪,因飲料餐牌是沒有中文的,是由他們自家制的新鮮乳酪加鮮芒果肉打拌而成,再加上那粉紅色好像是玫瑰味的,so creamy so fresh,p.s芒果比草莓好喝,最後補充咖喱的辣度是可以選的,但你要自己在下單時跟他們講.

主菜要了椰汁咖哩羊腩,看起來如泥漿的模樣,加點薑絲在面,看起來就對版了,羊腩吃起來都幾入味,但就真的有如一件很有味,又很稱職的香口膠,羊肉的肉質非常之韌,非常之嚡兼柴皮。

不過最棒的都是那咖哩汁,用它來蘸薄餅吃,茴香味非常之強,加上大量的蒜、薑及蔥等大量香料,吃起來味道很夠,香味非常夠勁,不過就真的嚐不到有什麼椰漿味,可能茴香的味道是太過霸道了吧,使得頗為重味的椰汁也要讓路,也千萬不要以為本人在說謊,在吃的過程中,本人用了手將烤餅撕成細件,再去蘸咖哩汁吃,大意的被咖哩汁沾上了手指,雖然吃畢之後很快去洗手,但那陣香料味仍舊長存,你說有多厲害呢,所以餐牌內說成是Mutton Madras看來是比較準確,因為南部的咖哩,始終都是更重口味。

除了羊腩,咖哩汁內有一件孤單的薯仔,粉腍而非常入味,那當然非常好吃,而伴來的烤餅看來頗為潔白,個人認為餅是可以烤得再熱一點,再過火一點,那餅的焦香味就更殺食,而是日的軟腍版,也是軟熟之中帶輕柔的麥香,跟重口味的洋蔥及蒜薄餅又是另一回事了。

本該想點馬沙拉茶為餐飲,但店員煞有介事的強調套餐,是不可以加特式飲料的,最後選了杯冰檸檬茶來喝,茶味一般,檸味夠而甜度平衡得不錯,最重要都是夠冰,喝畢檸檬茶,實在真的是透心涼。

心想是次一個人來,試的東西實在是太少,加上未試到店家的馬沙拉茶,遂起了念頭,畢日再來一試,才再寫食評吧,而以下的就是另一天所吃的東西,是一個Weekday的中午,是日終於可以吃得便宜一點,而又彈性高一點了吧。

是次被店員安排坐到內堂廚房對內走廊的位置,這個位真的好熱,雖然明白其他座位有人留座了,但在此一提就是希望大家有個參考,怕熱人仕如有此情形,都是走為上計,都是將注意力放回食物身上,餐湯都是同樣的罐頭忌廉湯,在此不再重述了。

加了十元享用Samosa,此Samosa不是一般平常在印度館子吃過烤的版本,而是炸出來的,予人感覺有點港式,內藏的餡料都是一般吃到的素餡,除了一般最常見的青豆及薯仔之外,更有不少花生,全部的材料都被煮至粉腍,配合一陣茴香,加上那都算炸得油而不膩的脆皮,怎說都是香口美味。

是回的主菜要了咖喱牛,沒有了椰漿的咖哩汁,感覺汁底較稀,沒有之前如泥漿般的感覺,口味沒之前那麼重,看似是帶點北印的風格,最佳的佐證就是那些蕃茄味及一點nuts的味道,予人更清新多源的感覺,香料味沒上回的咖喱羊那麼強,用來點烤餅來吃都不錯,至於另一主角牛腩,炆得夠腍入味,當然好吃,比起上回的韌皮羊好得多了。

是回終於喝到Masala tea了,一個人喝都給了我一整壺茶,可能這就是一分錢一分貨的道理吧,因為記憶所及,本人是要花廿元才可以喝,茶已經是預先加了奶,茶雖然入口不算很挺,但都幾滑幾有奶香的,最重要的就是有陣好勁的馬沙拉味,喝畢整個口也是一陣奶羶加馬沙拉的香味,兩強對碰般,真的喝得人非常快慰。

吃畢了兩餐,都是那一個感覺,為何每家店子做出來的印度菜,味道真的大同小異呢?可能每家的咖哩膽所運用的香料的配方是會有所不同,但可能本人不是印度人吧,所以對我來說,為何恆河取了一粒星對我而言,還是一個無法解釋的現象,也許去問問印度人,他們又會點睇法呢?

Masala Tea是小弟十分喜愛的飲料, 每逢到印度餐廳都會想叫的飲品之一
最愛有肉桂及其他香料味道混在一起的香濃, 的確會有很多香港人會抗拒的
今次我所飲的更有薑汁在茶裡面, good~~! 可惜肉桂味不足, 飲完覺得像是有些不足的地方

服務方面都算不錯的, 侍應不諳中文, 要得用英語溝通, 不過其中有位女侍應頗健談的, 也包容小弟頗爛的英語
衛生方面我不太滿意, 洗手間也不算太乾淨, 影響了我一些用膳的心情
店內環境頗迫, 加上衛生情況不太令我滿意, 覺得吃得不太舒服

25.4.2011今年的生日是我二十幾年來最特別的一年, 因為有婆婆, 姨姨, 細姨, 和媽咪與我一起吃生日飯. 好感恩這麼多年來一直有她們的照顧, (尤其是我的媽咪), 沒有她們, 就沒有今日的我.當細姨問我想去哪裡吃生日飯的時候, 我就想到這裡, 一來這裡又抵食又坐得舒服, 二來媽咪和婆婆都未吃過印度菜. 幸好我有訂位, 要不然就無位了.一如其他印度餐廳, 這裡的侍應都是講英文的. 而這裡menu裡的食物名稱都應該是印度文譯音, 幸好有中文字解釋, 所以都知那些是什麼東西. menu內太多食物了, 所以我們就吃四人套餐了. 瑪拉沙燴蝦, 皇牌奶汁燴咖哩雞, 焗茄瓜: 這三樣東西的特點都是各自用一個鐵盤裝住, 而且落了很多香料. 雖然我在點菜時已經告訴老闆, 希望我們的食物都是小辣, 但原來當每樣都小辣的時候, 就會變成中辣. 瑪拉沙燴蝦的蝦已埋藏在咖哩汁內, 只有數隻中蝦, 可是咖哩汁太勁, 已吃不到蝦味了. 皇牌奶汁燴咖哩雞的雞都已經埋在汁內, 很難找到. 焗茄瓜的茄瓜直情溶入了汁內, 找不到, 有點失望.
香菇炒飯: 飯很細粒, 不知道用了什麼油來炒, 感覺很怪的. 還有, 那些香菇不香的, 只有菇味, 欠缺香味.

茶餐是送普通的茶或咖啡, 但我加了$18來飲杯Mango Lassi, 我第一次飲, 想不到Lassi是這麼正
, 尤其是吃了這麼多辣的東西之後, 這杯又甜又凍的飲品簡直是舒緩咖哩味的最佳拍擋
感覺好creamy, 喜歡芒果的人不容錯過.

我們五個人吃了$446.6, 很抵食呀, 雖然每碟的份量不太多, 但我們每個都吃到好飽. 本來我想請她們吃, 不過細姨和姨姨堅持請我吃, 真的有點不好意思要她們又買蛋糕又請我吃飯哩. anyway, 十分多謝她們.

跟著是幾味咖哩,有瑪沙拉燴蝦 (Masala Prawns)、皇牌奶汁燴咖哩雞/羊肉(選了羊肉)(Mutton Korma) --> 此兩味都不很辣,但很多油,不過吃得咖哩就預咗,羊肉又比雪藏蝦好吃一點、焗茄瓜 (Baingan Bharia) --> 已經打成茸,香料味足;伴吃的有千層餅麵包 (這是什麼譯名!!! 即是 Paratha 囉)、洋蔥烤餅 (Onion Kulcha) 還有香菇炒飯 (Mushroom Pullao, Pullao 是印度米,粒粒分明,質感較硬,只是不覺裡面有菇)。

套餐包 4 杯飲品,凍飲好像不用加錢,但我想喝 Lassi 問侍者可否轉餐飲,他含糊地(用英語)說什麼加 $20 可以,到後來 check 單時才發覺收了單點的價錢 (廿多元),而 4 杯餐飲也是照樣來了! 結果是飲到一肚水!
Lassi 本身要了原味/鹹的,但仍加了一抹粉紅的玫瑰糖漿(那是我的死穴),但不喝它就不覺得吃了一頓印度菜啊。

連加一每人 $100 多一點,大節前又沒有座地起價,收貨啦;但店員們都努力地走出門外招客,生意難做呀。

I was pretty disappointed with Palki. I've always walked past the restaurant and finally decided to try it out last night. The food was alright, although HK$75 for a small bowl of butter chicken seemed overpriced to me.What made me infuriated was the service. First, our food took at least 1/2 hour to come. What made me infuriated was the service. First, our food took at least 1/2 hour to come. I could understand the wait, as after we were seated, the resturant became fully packed with people who went to watch tennis nearby. We asked them to check our order a few times, and finally, the waiter, with a very rushed and annoyed expression, served us with a basket of nann and a plate of steam rice. Yes, that was what we ordered, but should it come with the curry first?

Even if I could forgive the long wait for food, I couldn't forgive the abysmal attitude at the end. When the bill arrived, we noticed that a mango lassi was accidentally added to our bil. However, we had already signed the bill. So we told the waitor. Instead of cancelling the credit card receipt, he just dumped HK$30 with the bill. Yes, the mango lassi cost HK$30, but how about 10% service charge?

Althought it might only mean a few dollars, but it was an issue of proper service. How could you just expect a customer to just accept money in exchange for a bill that was wrong? There was no sorry, no explaination. Nothing. Just a bill with HK$30 extra. I told the waitor of the 10% service charge issue, and the waitor outrageous awarded me with a large 'Gosh!' and turned away without saying anything more. Excuse me? Manners?

I couldn't resist but stand up and say that it wasn't my fault for the mix up and left the restaurant immediately.

The food was just ok, the price was not worth the environment and food quality, and worse of all the service was just plain unexcusable. It wasn't even a case of a customer being overdemanding.

Never going back again.

雖然唔係order咗好多,但覺味道都幾正宗...不過一向喺印度餐廳我都係叫嗰幾樣,唔敢亂叫,因為好可能會叫咗啲唔啱口味嘅野食..所以lee一點大家要注意咯!!


另外見有人啲comment話service唔好,但我唔覺wor,反而覺得佢哋好friendly同helpful @﹏@ 可能我成8.30/9點先去,冇mud人掛??
