油浸沙甸魚是另一略為清淡的菜式,輕輕沾上少許檸檬汁,更能帶出魚肉的鮮味。稍嫌不足的是魚肉當中少不免還有一點細骨,雖說可一拼吃下肚,但也難免影響了口感。

主菜方面,預訂了烤乳豬。有別於中式煮法,豬皮不會被烤得過焦。肉質軟腍,肉香不俗,脂肪層很薄,入口不肥膩。不過,烤豬皮那份脆脆口感略嫌不足,可再改善。

最後是西斑牙海鮮飯,海鮮飯以熱烘烘的鐵窩盛載,賣相香氣已有先聲奪人之勢。短小圓潤的飯粒,入口煙韌。海鮮種類凡多,蜆肉帶子勻很甜美,只是青口略為瘦削,給人有點美中不足之感。

從西班牙會來之後就非常懷念西班牙的西班牙抄飯.所以周圍找西班牙餐廳試試, 在OPENRICE見到此餐廳的介紹, 便去試試.點知真的和在西班牙時食的差得遠.燒三文魚還算好食.但西班牙抄飯便真的麻麻... 飯都有香味, 但海鮮味不足.至於燒雜菜都OK.最後埋單,簽卡要等好耐,經理請我們飲咖啡.

Paella Nuevo $196: 8分, 來得這裡, 當然是要一試西班牙飯. 最少要叫二人分量, 不過又不算好大鑊, 兩個人吃是剛剛好. 未吃已聞到香味, 吃落口帶點辣, 還算是我吃得到的辣度. 用上了不少海鮮, 蝦大大隻, 夠新鮮, 加上蜆肉同埋青口等等, 都幾足料. 飯吸收了海鮮的鮮味, 是比海鮮更搶鏡, 不過就偏濕, 乾身一點更好. 來得這裡, 不能錯過這 Paella Nuevo.

Crème Catalan $48: 8分, 這個燉蛋做得幾滑, 有橙香, 但就偏甜, 還算幾好.

Caramelized Baked Apple Tart $48: 6分, 蘋果撻就麻麻, 個撻淋了點, 蘋果就太酸, 要加上雲尼拿雪糕同吃去中和那份酸度.

整體食物水準不俗, 環境也幾好. 如果想輕輕鬆鬆的吃餐飯, 忘記一週的煩惱, 這裡會是個幾好的選擇.

Went here for a date at the weekend and must say, very impressed with the place.The thing is with Spanish restaurants, to get a good appreciation of the various dishes on offer, you have to order many dishes which can be a problem if there's only two of you eating. The thing is with Spanish restaurants, to get a good appreciation of the various dishes on offer, you have to order many dishes which can be a problem if there's only two of you eating. For that reason, we had the set menu of four courses for 188 which even with drinks and service on top, represented really good value.

To start we had the cold tapas plate of Iberico ham, ratatouile salad and the chilled gazpacho soup which came in a pretty neat shot glass.
This came with a pot of bread and butter, which I found a bit strange as usually English/Western/French restaurants serve bread with butter whereas our Mediterranean counterparts tend to offer olive oil. Regardless, a self-confessed butter-holic and Brit I gobbled it all up. The bread was crispy on top and dough-ey in the middle but I usually prefer my bread granary and a bit of texture and I found it a bit plain for my liking.

The ham was rich without being overly greasy and the ratoutille salad was zingy and fresh.

The next course of hot tapas included grilled octopus with aoili sauce and a mini lamb kebab which I thought was cute and provided me a suitable fix for my lamb craving, something I rarely eat enough of in the UK let alone in HK. It tasted like a much refined version of the types I eat on a boozey night out and certainly without the grease, infact in true UK fashion I dolloped a whole load of aioli (think garlic mayo) on it and it tasted great!
The octopus was OK - a tad chewy for my liking.

My partner choose the confit duck with garlic potatoes which was delicious whilst I had the mackerel with herb crust which was only OK and lacked the punch and impact of the previous two rounds.

There was then a long wait for desserts for around about 10 minutes or so but we had the mixed plate of chocolate bar, vanilla ice cream and apple pie. Pretty safe selection of desserts here which are all tastey in their own right but lacked synergy as a unit. The chocolate bar was like a set ganache and very hard to eat with a spoon as it was set very cold whereas the ice cream was almost beginning to melt. The apple tart was nice slivers of apple and pastry topped with roasted cinnamon which my only gripe would be there wasn't enough of it!

Total bill came to about 770 for 2 people, who had a bottle of water, 2 cocktails, a beer and service on top which I think is reasonable for nice surroundings. If we got our drinks order in earlier we could have saved on HH prices - So get in early before 8 !

Very romantic and atmospheric restaurant with good food and good value menu! Would definitely return again and maybe try some of the dishes offered a la carte too!

Gave this new Spanish bar/ restaurant a shot, and I have to say that it was well worth it. Amongst the three of us, ordered a couple of appetizers, including iberico ham, snails, sausage, mussels, soup and fries. The bread that came along with the soup, some type of focaccia was warm, soft and yumm. For mains, ordered two paella and pork belly, all were quite delicious, though nothing spectacular. T3 was hoisted and I spent the night at 1/5 Nuevo having its Wine Cocktail dinner under the rain and storm outside.There was a set menu for the night and the whole restaurant was served the same thing at the same time. It was a 5-course dinner paired with wine from the vineyard at Luis Canas. We were served white before the dinner started, something light to bring up our appetite while we could observe the chef busily preparing food at the open kitchen. There was a set menu for the night and the whole restaurant was served the same thing at the same time. It was a 5-course dinner paired with wine from the vineyard at Luis Canas. We were served white before the dinner started, something light to bring up our appetite while we could observe the chef busily preparing food at the open kitchen. It was a bit too long before they started serving as we arrived at 7:15 and the first course was brought to us slightly before 8.

Cold Tapas – Avocado Toast, Shrimp pinchos, Rock Oyster
So this was the first course, and it came with 3 little tapas. The oyster was good, not very strong with the smell of the sea but tasted fresh. And I simply loved the avocado toast! Crisp and crunchy on the outside (pastry) while diced or mashed avocado was served with tomato and eggs. The pinchos was decent too.
This was served with its white from the year of 2008.

Hot Tapas – Roasted Spanish Sausage, Meatballs (barbecue sauce), Chicken “piperade” – refried potato skin
After the servers cleaned up everything of the previous course, the second course arrived and this was a meat dish. Spanish sausage was sliced and the meatball was good too, would be better if there were more than one. The piperade was great! The dried potato skin was like a tiny container of all the tiny seasoned ingredients (peppers, tomatoes and some other stuff) inside and there was a layer of salad dressing on top!
This was served with its red from the year of 2006.

Bread was served in between and it was nice. Hot, crispy on the outside but the bread was soft.

1/5 Nuevo Tapas – Roasted Octopus on white beans with chorizo
It was great. The octopus was cooked for the right timing – not too tough but remained to be chewy enough. The sausage was a nice complement and it blended well with the sauce so it was not too salty like when you have the sausage alone.
This was served with its reserved red from the year of 2004, and this suit my liking J

Main – Peppered Lamb Chop with lime gravy and Ratatouille
Loved the Lamb Chop! Though I was getting a bit full already, the lamb chop was great! Juicy and tender and even I am not a great fan of lamb chops, I still loved it! And loved how they served with ratatouille as compared to plain vegetables.
This was served with its reserved red from the year of 2003.

Dessert – Fruit mosaic with summer jelly and “Drunken” sour cherries
Pretty full from the previous dishes already and here came the last dish of the set – dessert. Maybe the cherries were used to “neutralize” the filling effect of all the meat intake, but it was too sour and tasted too strong of alcohol for my liking. Fruits and jelly was ok and was expecting a more delicate dessert.

Dinner was good in general, the server explained a bit about the wine and the vineyard when they served us the wine. And the ambience was great as this is a bar and restaurants, so there were lots of people standing outside enjoying their drinks when we arrived. Would like to come back again for tapas or lunch some time.

好朋友Oli生日,由於她人緣非常好,往往三數個月都冇機會同佢食生日飯,今年就索性早一點,同佢食個Lunch也好丫。地點我選,就揀上次約好了但去不成的1/5 Nuevo。餐廳的前面部份是設計新穎的酒吧,晚上來飲杯野,吃點西班牙小食,會是不錯。而後面就是用餐區,樓底特高,裝修簡約,富藝術感,在這個地方午膳,很是舒適。翻開餐牌,午市套餐只得頭盤和主菜,如要食沙律、甜品、咖啡或茶,每款要加$20,其實都幾唔划算。商議一會,要兩客午餐大家分吃,甜品要吃,但稍後才苛打。點菜後,服務生奉上餐前麵包,是圓包及切了片的法包,麵包不算鬆化,邊位更是韌韌的,吃了半件我就收手,對方也說沒有興趣再食。先來軟殼蟹沙律,色澤很對辦,熱得燙口,可是蟹身稔稔的,只有蟹腳比較脆一點,同時缺乏肥美的蟹羔,跟我預期的有頗大出入,還是把旁邊的沙律菜吃掉好了。另一頭盤會是魚、帶子沙律,兩者都是切粒,再配以蕃茄粒和洋蔥粒,感覺是清爽涼快,伴著香脆可口的多士,在炎炎夏日吃這味,最好不過,我欣賞這味多於軟殼蟹。到了主菜,首先是香腸,長長的捲起,最岩我呢個食肉獸。香腸並不是脆皮,但肉味尚算濃郁,而且帶頗重的香草味道,我大大啖咁吃。而Ol

對方揀的雜菌意大利飯,米飯粒粒圓潤飽滿,質感是濕潤又有咬口,配料的雜菇爽口,算是煮得可以,要挑剔是味道偏咸。

加錢要了兩款甜品,一是Profiteroles,質感鬆軟,淋上濃郁的朱古力漿,不失美味。

另一甜品係蘋果批,這個的玉桂味不算很重,而且裡頭的蘋果肉,爽爽脆脆,都唔錯。當然,如果伴邊的雪糕可以大球一點,會加分。

希望Oli會滿意這頓午餐吧!

下雨天. 7點到達, 很多很多人在酒吧區飲嘢. 餐廳則空無一人.我們點了很多海鮮, 包括蒜蓉蝦, 炸魷魚, 青口 和蜆. 全部都細細鍱, 分量有點少. 但味道新鮮很入味.飲品當然少不了我的最愛Sangria 呢!最後點了一個西班牙飯, ok啦, 可惜分量太細. 試不出味道.如果早一天預訂, 可以點燒乳豬.......好期待下一次呢!

下雨天. 7點到達, 很多很多人在酒吧區飲嘢. 餐廳則空無一人.

我們點了很多海鮮, 包括蒜蓉蝦, 炸魷魚, 青口 和蜆. 全部都細細鍱, 分量有點少. 但味道新鮮很入味.

飲品當然少不了我的最愛Sangria 呢!

最後點了一個西班牙飯, ok啦, 可惜分量太細. 試不出味道.

如果早一天預訂, 可以點燒乳豬.......好期待下一次呢!

after reading a review in HK Magazine, we went to this restaurant to try their special tasting dinner os small bites: 198 pp for 3 cold starters (gazpacho, iberico ham, kind of bruschetta), 2 warm starters (chicken almond, suckling pig), 1 main (choice of beef short ribs or some fish) and 3 desserts (ice cream, lemon tart, chocolate mousse). after reading a review in HK Magazine, we went to this restaurant to try their special tasting dinner os small bites: 198 pp for 3 cold starters (gazpacho, iberico ham, kind of bruschetta), 2 warm starters (chicken almond, suckling pig), 1 main (choice of beef short ribs or some fish) and 3 desserts (ice cream, lemon tart, chocolate mousse).
The cold starters were all very tasty, and was served with some delicious, warm bread. The almond chicken was very good as well, and I think that we don't really fancy suckling pig, first time I had this dish and I can't judge whether it was good or not. The main was OK and of a decent size, and the desserts were all nice. The dinner deal can be combined with 4 small servings of wine, one for each course (HKD88): an excellent, easy to drink cava to start off, then 2 glasses of red wine and a sherry to flush away the desserts. Other dishes we tried were the patatas bravas nuevo (fried potato cubes, capsicum, egg, chorizo all stir fried, good taste), a paella risotto with prawns (good) and an a la carte dessert (which is a choice of 2 of the desserts on the menu, we chose creme catalan and pineapple crumble). Overall a very nice visit, good food, very friendly and good service and a restaurant to come back to.

今天約了BANBAN食晚飯,心想過完年逗完利是就應該吃餐好些的。之前苦思了很久到底和她吃什麼好,記得她說過想吃西班牙菜,便決定和她吃西班牙菜了! 其實有一兩間也好像挺好的,最後基於不同的理由就選擇了這間。大概下午打來BOOK位,電話裡的姐姐很有禮貌,到再夜一點時又有人打來confirm,那位哥哥還說如果遲來可以打給他,他幫我們hold起張檯,真好! 不過去到發現其實這裡客人也不算多呢,全晚大概一半滿吧,來的也多是喝酒居多,像我們坐下用餐區的就寥寥可數了。這裡環境其實不錯,周圍也是蠟燭的火光,浪漫非常,其實我挺喜歡這裡的環境的,不過不知他們是否認為兩個人會比較喜歡邊邊的地方,他真的安排了我們自成一角,可是我個人比較喜歡開揚點呢! 服務也是絕對的無問題,問她們她們也會詳細解釋,雖然有時覺得佢講左好似等如無講到咁! 哈哈,同埋佢地好好禮貌,很好人呢。由於我們兩個人也一致地不太肚餓,所以份量還是不敢多叫。我們叫了一個mushrooms sauteed,由於事前又沒有做太多資料搜集,對很多國家的菜還未太清楚的我們有時也真的不太知道是什麼來的,所以有時也要問問她們而且不敢亂叫。原來這個是炒雜菌,叫

由於我們兩個人也一致地不太肚餓,所以份量還是不敢多叫。我們叫了一個mushrooms sauteed,由於事前又沒有做太多資料搜集,對很多國家的菜還未太清楚的我們有時也真的不太知道是什麼來的,所以有時也要問問她們而且不敢亂叫。原來這個是炒雜菌,叫這個的原因其實是因為我們想吃點較清的東西。雜菌炒得較乾身,不是有很多sauce那種,有點點硬硬的卻很香,有香草味又不會失了雜菌的鮮味,份量不算很多,不過對我們兩個來說也是差不多的了。

之後服務生姐姐拿了一個盆栽過來,內裡裝著四片麵包!!! 真的cute到暈,勁可愛!!! 麵包外面很脆,吃下去軟熟,加上牛油,也是好吃呢。另外我們叫了一個paella risotto,感覺很精緻,Risotto吃下去較creamy,是另一種吃的感受,吃下去還好不會太膩,加上新鮮的海鮮有大蝦,青口和魷魚等,也是不錯的。我很喜歡定的青口,較肥美而且很鮮味,味道是有點點像蠔的感覺,我覺得挺好吃呢!~~~~

之後還有Roasted Pork Belly,這裡將其切成一片片較薄的,我們勁笑超似中式燒腩仔,不過感覺不同的是這裡的脂肪吃下去時有點點煙靱的感覺,挺有口感而且很香口,肉質不算很嫩,是較實但又不會有很難咀嚼的感覺。而且其肉味真的很濃,加伴以好味的薯條和沙律,也算可以啦,不過下次的話我想我未必會選這個呢。

最後當然是叫dessert啦,$48 有兩款選擇,仲可以揀雪糕或者雪葩,真係超好! 因為可以試多款甜品嘛。最後我們要了Panna cotta和Pear‧Pineapple Crumble,另外選擇了雪糕,因為那位服務生說覺得雪糕好味過雪葩呢。甜品等了較久的時間,來到的時候也是很精美很漂亮的。Panna cotta是Raspberry味,味道很清新,一點也不膩,吃下去很滑有奶香而且又不會散掉,不錯。雪糕也是很濃的雲尼拿味,而且更看到很多雲尼拿籽呢,難怪她建議我們要雪糕呢。最後是Pear‧Pineapple Crumble,焗出來非常熱辣辣,非常脆口,有梨子的味道令整個甜品不會太膩,但感覺也挺熱氣的呢。不過我覺得兩個人吃剛剛好,如果我一個人我未必會選擇這個。

這一餐又這樣完滿的結束了,下次會想來嘗試一些其他的食物呢。環境causal得來又不會很嘈吵,浪費得來又不會很局促,是一個挺好的地方。=)

看到食評推介這裡的西班牙海鮮飯,所以專程來1/5 nuevo試一試。須知道,不是太多地方可以找到好吃的西班牙海鮮飯。這裡的西班牙海鮮飯份量很大,多得可以兩個人分來吃。配料十分豐富,包括有大大隻的青口、大蝦碌、魷魚圈等。青口和魷魚圈很新鮮,而大蝦也很香很鮮甜爽口。而個人最欣賞反而是飯粒色澤均勻,而且十分惹味,令人吃不停口。叫了兩支啤酒一邊飲,環境和氣氛也都蠻好的。坐了一會兒便越來越多人,使星街小區內的這店也熱鬧起來了。

This entry took me a while to write up because (1) I am lazy (2) I am lazy and (3) I am very lazy! I have passed by this establishment way too many times but never really got the chance try it. Since I felt like Spanish Tapas on this evening, why not give this place a try. So what do I think of it? I was 1/5 satisfied with the food but I was 5/5 happy to have a wonderful dining companion with me this special evening! I can go on forever about how much fun this evening and how the both of us took pictures of the food with undivided concentration; but let me get back to the review first. It was to my surprise that the actual dining area was rather small, almost half of the establishment is dedicated to the bar area with about a dozen of tables for diners.

(1) Eggs & onion dips
It was literally eggs and onion dips, how unoriginal! Truly no surprises in my opinion.

(2) Goose liver pies with port wine sauce
We were attracted by the name of this dish and the presentation was interesting enough that we took quite a while to take pictures of it from different directions. However, taste wise we can't even find hints of the goose liver flavors, perhaps overtaken by the rich port wine sauce??

(3) Chorizo sauteed with onions
Too salty, too oily and too chewy! Enough said.

(4) Pata negra iberico ham
Based on my humble knowledge with cured ham, pata negra or Jamón iberico ham (which consists of different variations as well) is of better grade than the slightly varied Jamón serrano. If we were to try, why not try the better grade right? It was to be ordered by the grams and was cut right in front of us.

It was good. Not too salty and very thinly cut. The flavor was very intense as it should be; a great way to stimulate my taste buds before the mains!

(5) Sea-bass, scallops ceviche
Definitely not something we expected; I mean not how we imagined it would look like. It was more like a dip to me, a very lightly flavored dip to be exact. I could not remember how the diced sea-bass and scallops tasted like, likely because there were not surprises.

(6) Seafood paella
Where can I find good paella in HK??? Not here (nor at Hemingway's by the Bay @ Discovery Bay) for sure. It was rather dry but at least it was served in the right paella pan compared with Hemingway's! Plenty of ingredients and flavors were alright, it was the dryness of the whole thing that they really need to work on!

(7) Steak Frites
Looks alright? Yeah, it tasted alright as well. We ordered Medium Rare and it came Medium Rare. Meat was tender enough that we gave it a passing rate. Fries on the other hand, no, it failed because it was rather stale and plain.

(8) baked chocolate cake & caramelized baked apple tart
One word: SWEET! Sorry I mean 2 words: TOO SWEET! Both the baked chocolate cake and caramelized baked apple tarts were way too sweet for my liking. The apple slices in the apple tart seemed to be soaked in sugar for a long while that even with the ice cream the sweetness remained. The sweetness of the apple tart and chocolate cake took over my sense of taste to a point that I thought I would get a sugar overdose!

Likes:

* Pata negra iberico ham - very thinly sliced + flavors were rich and intense, very good.

Dislikes:

* Desserts way too sweet
* Seafood Paella - too dry! I really want to find a great Paella place!
* Chorizo sauteed with onions - too salty & too greasy!

Avg Spending: HKD 300 - 500 per person
