這天與朋友來到 Soho 逛逛,很喜歡這裡的悠閒氣氛,整個人都放鬆了下來, 星期天便是應該這樣走著走著來到 Cafe De Paris 的門前,即時被佢吸引。餐廳的佈置很有味道,加上輕快的音樂,令人有如置身外國一般。而且價格相宜!一個有湯,沙律,主菜,甜品,飲品的 set lunch 都只索價 108。而且有相當質素。南瓜湯很清甜。餐包上桌時仍是熱烘烘的,配上牛油,好味主菜的雞和魚也不錯。就是甜品稍為太甜,不是我杯茶。

但是事實上就是,這一批的生蠔其實不太肥呢,不過味道是我喜歡的比較creamy的感覺。

We went in, and waited at the door to be noticed for a minute or so. There was 2 other tables seated, and we asked to be in the back, however were told that they were all reserved for 7:30pm, so we sat in the front area. We looked at the menu and made our decisions, and then sat for awhile waiting for the waiter to notice us again. For the appetizer we tried to order some Oysters and Champagne (as advertised on the chalk board) but were told they did not have the oysters (making the champagne u

For the appetizer we tried to order some Oysters and Champagne (as advertised on the chalk board) but were told they did not have the oysters (making the champagne un-needed) I asked why they didn't change the chalk board but he just laughed. My girlfriend then had the goat cheese salad, and I had the french onion soup. Her salad was quite good, with some crouton's with grilled goats cheese on it, and a decent frise/microgreen salad. The french onion soup came with a processed piece of cheese overtop a disintegrated soggy piece of bread, soaking in some unflavoured liquid with maybe 1/8th of an onion in there. It was OK once I added some salt, but I didn't finish, but didn't complain.

For entres my girlfriend had the black cod in pappilote, which came in aluminium foil, not parchment, and was cut open and left in the aluminium foil. It wasn't the nicest presentation, but the fish was cooked well, and had a nice medly of spring vegetables, but lacked seasoning. I had the steak tartare, which was creamy, with enough cornichon crunch and dill flavor, and served with some quite decent frites. The only complaint was again it could use a touch of salt. All in all it was a decent dining experience. I had eaten here before on a Friday, and the food was a little better, and the service was much much better. I would go back again if I was in the mood for a simple bistro meal with some good wine. Note in my price per head, I did not include the wine we had at dinner.

一月十六日 (星期三)架架仔同事生日,小小地也慶祝一番午飯時間走到Soho區的Café de Paris走到店門前真的嚇了一跳,店是全滿的,在Soho區真的少見好彩,一早已訂了八人枱!先看看餐牌,也是如其他的餐廳一樣,主打午市套餐最厲害的,是一個約百元的套餐竟也有五道菜(當然包括飲品甜品),就是連沙律和湯也不是二選其一在座的大家都不禁想,會不會將貨就價,草草了事?無論如何,既已來到,大家也就來當一探虛實罷 頭盆是是日沙律和餐湯,大家都不用選,兩款同時供應先來的是三文魚雜菜沙律簡單的一道菜式,最重要的元素,仍得靠鮮嫩的雜菜和豐腴的三文魚,這裡做到了!再灑上酸醋,帶着酸,令胃口大開餐湯是普通不過的羅宋湯湯較為清淡,不過湯料仍是十分豐富的勝在熱洪洪,在寒冷的天氣中,挺窩心的也來到主菜環節大家可看看附圖餐牌,有雞腿,青口和魚柳三款選擇,再配以不同的做法喜歡吃雞,也就點了雞腿的菜式煮法一點也不馬虎,賣相也討好雞腿經醃製後再烤,皮脆肉嫩,也十分入味美中不足,份量著實是少了一點鋪底的薯蓉和白豆也不要錯過,薯蓉十分幼滑,味道香甜又與肉味挺夾的白豆則十分有咬口,伴一點薯蓉吃,感覺不錯再來的是甜品是曲奇味

一看見這樣清新的顏色配搭就已很令人動心!來自美國的肉眼扒,經熟成後肉質鬆軟,肉味亦更濃,就這樣簡單地炭燒,不配任何醬汁已是最佳的烹調方法,可吃出肉的原味。建議吃時可配一杯 Cabinet Sauvignon 紅酒,就更襯到絕。

as it was xmas eve therefore i went through some magazines and saw their menuthe pictures were very attractive so i made my bookingthey requested my credit card no. to reserve the tablewhich i can understand as its xmas evewhen i rang the restaurantthey told me i can either take the table at 18:30 or 20:30but if i take 1830, i would hv to leave by 20:30.so we chose to dine at 20:00.we got there on time but ended up waiting for 20minscuz some of their guests from the 18:30 groupthey were still ea

when i rang the restaurant
they told me i can either take the table at 18:30 or 20:30

we got there on time but ended up waiting for 20mins
cuz some of their guests from the 18:30 group
they were still eating!

when we finally got to the table
it took us about another 30mins to order our beverages-wine and water
the restaurant was full but there were only 3services!
took abt another 15mins for our beverages to come
and finally we got to order at 21:30
i waved to those waitresses many times but they just walked pass as they were really BUSY

the couple who sat beside us came after us
but ended up eating first!
thts one thing i reali dun understand cuz they only provided one menu for the night
meaning the kitchen should be well prepared.

不諱言,本少非常喜歡「百里香」這香草,喜愛它味道比「迷迭香」更清新淡雅,不論配肉類、海鮮甚至乎蛋糕都很搭配。這次配上鯛魚柳,即焗即上桌,整條魚的骨已起,焗得外脆內滑,魚肉燙咀,想不好吃都幾難。

We ordered 2 pots of mussels to share and as it was summer and not really mussel season, they were small and not very sweet. Must remember only to order them when in season

For my main course, I ordered the whole sole. I rarely have fish as a main course but didn't feel like big portions of meat. It was fried crispy on top, lightly salted with the wonderful smell of butter. My husband ordered the lamb which was tender and lean although without a the nice flavour of lam. Dad ordered Bouillabaisse and Dad has had a lot of Bouillabaisse in his life and he thought this was one of the good ones. There was a big prawn, fish, mussels and just enough for him as a main course.

We were all full after that and just ordered coffee. Since I don't sleep well after drinking coffee at night, I had to go for decaffeinated coffee which wasn't too good.

The meal although unexciting proved that the restaurant was a consistent high standard. A safe bet.

Haven't been back for a number of years but still very impressed with the standard.

The decor has not changed a bit since I last came - a little friendly place, tables close together but still comfortable. The hustle and bustle, the atmosphere .... everything still refreshes my memory of why this restaurant is one of my favourites in SoHo.

The salad and the mushroom soup were of decent size and quality, and the warm bread provided a soft but welcomed introduction to a casual lunch.

There were 3 different dishes for the main course - sole, chicken and a vegetarian something. Even though the taste was rather bland, the presentation deserved a worthy mention. We had no complaints.

The dessert and the coffee were both very satisfying, to say the least.

Yes, it may not be the best for lunches or in SoHo, and there are of course better places around, at a price. But it's one of those joints where you can sit leisurely and watch the world pass by. It may not be that french but this place reminds me that HK is not all about money and fame, it can also be a place where dreams are made and kept.

I, for one, will keep returning as long as this continues.

I came here for Sunday brunch with my family. The restaurant is reminiscent of the interior of an old French steam train (complete with baggage racks and old suitcases). I liked the tiled floor and ceiling decor, which gave the whole place a very "French" bistro vibe. When we arrived at about 1:30pm, the restaurant was almost full, so if you are going as a big group I would recommend booking in advance. We were placed at a small table close to the door. When we arrived at about 1:30pm, the restaurant was almost full, so if you are going as a big group I would recommend booking in advance. We were placed at a small table close to the door. I wasn't too happy that the four of us had to squeeze into a small square table which was clearly designed for two, but the waiter helpfully helped us expand the square table into a round table to give us more space.


We ordered the simple lunch set (HK$118) which came with starters, soup, choice of main, coffee or tea and dessert.

The bread came first and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was "freshly" baked. ("Freshly" in quotations as it is baked from pre-made frozen dough.) The dough was slightly too thin but the bread was warm, crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Not a bad start.

The duck breast was not particularly flavorful, but at least it was not 臊. The mixed green was nice and fresh, with a light dallop of honey mustard dressing.


Soup of the day was cream of mushroom soup.

The soup is a bit grainy as they have made it with real mushroom bits. I thought it was only so-so as the vegetable stock was made with a tad bit too much celery which overpowered the mushroom.

We tried all four choices of main:

- This was my favourite dish for the meal. We smelled the black truffle the moment it landed on our table. The gnocchi was not overpoweringly sour (as they can be sometimes) and blended perfectly with the cheese and black truffle sauce.
It wasn't fresh black truffle, but it sure taste good!

- I was pleasantly surprise to find that my omelet was made with some sort of dried meat, rather than the boring old ham. The restaurant served the slightly runny omelet with a toast, which made for perfect Sunday brunch fare. The portion was also quite generous too.

- This was probably the most disappointing dish of the meal. The skin was nice and crispy, but the meat was a bit too dry for my taste. The portion was also on the small size for guys.

For dessert they served brownie with a scoop of chocolate ice-cream. I was really too full by that time to finish the brownie, which was a bit on the dry side. My only
point was that by the time this dish was served 50% of the ice-cream has melted (perhaps it stayed for too long at the counter waiting to be served). The pool of melted ice-cream was slightly off-putting.

All in all, I find the restaurant to be value for money. The food was not "the best of HK", but definitely delightfully surprised to be able to get a meal for that price. The service as conscientious as well and the manager is very friendly. (They were willing to make us a cup of "cha chan teng" style honey lemon water
even though it was clearly off menu.)

先嚟一籃兩件熱辣辣「眼」形麵包, 奉上已 soften 的「唧出來」狀牛油, 加埋都幾難唔好食, 不過麵包再鬆軟一點會好 d.

Starter 係 tomato & bacon salad: 其實係混了 bacon bits 的 tomato tartare
, 再加上 vinaigrette 及 frisée lettuce (?)... tomato tartare 本身甜而多汁, bacon 的鹹香就較「隱閉」; 而 vinaigrette 就又多又好酸, 都酸得有點打冷震...

Soup 係 mushroom consommé: 用咖啡杯 serve
, 內除了新鮮 mushrooms, 仲有洋蔥, 西芹 etc, 飲落冬菇味「濃縮」, 但感覺幾清, 完全唔膩, 幾喜歡.

主食揀了 seared duck breast... 頂層 duck breast 帶唔弱的鴨「臊」味, 食落肉少少嚡身, 可幸唔算韌, 還 ok 的; 中層 spinach 軟腍清香無渣, 簡簡單單都不錯; 底層就原來係一半potato puree 一半 couscous, 前者軟滑又幾香薯味及牛油味, 後者就係預計得到的「一舊舊」及無乜味
, 不過配上疑似係鴨肉醬汁, 最後都係清了碟, 可以一試的.

朋友食 black truffle & cheese omelette: 無 cheese 味, 不過 black truffle 味聞落食落一樣香, 蛋亦炒得滑, 配另上的勁脆 toast, 好似食緊早餐, 但好正
旁邊仲有 prosciutto 及 salad, 後者感覺唔太新鮮, 前者則夠晒鹹香, 幾好食.

咖啡聞落唔算好勁咖啡味, 齋飲就夠濃及苦而不澀, 而落糖落奶容易入口得多, 不過整體唔多夠熱, 明明攪拌了好耐, 飲到最後都有未溶的糖粒, 真係


Dessert 係 pineapple marble cake 配 vanilla ice cream, 後者夠滑, 不過唔算好香, 食落感覺 light light 的; pineapple marble cake 就似 tart 多 d, 底部牛油味香, 食落質地亦似足曲奇餅; 中間的 "cake" 質感實得似 brownie
, 食落幾甜; 而面頭的就完全唔係 pineapple (橙色的!?), 食落好酸, 有點似 jackfruit 又有點似勁酸版 mango "carpaccio"
雖然食完都唔覺得係 "pineapple marble cake", 不過都幾好食的, 哈哈.


食物算不錯, 環境及 service 亦好, 連加一埋單約 $130, 食得舒服亦算滿意, 可以一試的.

琴晚行下行下,行左去蘇豪,見到呢間法國野,就試下。我地點左生蠔、洋蔥湯、龍蝦同魚。生蠔都OK既,洋蔥湯就濃到有D苦,飲完湯之後,就....等..等...等左超耐,主菜先至上,個龍蝦無咩味 份魚就乾到馬介休下次都係唔好亂試野。
