舖位是英皇中心街舖,可想而知我付的有起碼一半是給楊受成而不是對雪糕滿有熱誠的店主,想到這裡就覺得很不是味兒。店員好親切好有熱誠,會叫你試食唔同味道雪糕。入舖後左右靠牆各有二三個坐位,反而櫃面後面的工作空間頗大。那部法拉利級雪糕機今次我跟它緣慳一面,因為聽店員講已搬到尖沙咀準備開張的新舖了。叫了杯黑芝麻味的,拿上手的第一感覺是10分墜手,顯然是雪糕的密度相當之高,吃落口證明我的感覺沒有錯,跟一般的雪糕很不一樣。雪糕不會太甜,芝麻香味足夠。店員也給我試食過芒果味,也十分之清香,下次吧。店內還掛又好像是美食比賽的獎狀。雪糕口味有芒果、士多啤梨、牛油果、蜜瓜、白桃、朱古力、伯爵茶、焦糖、炭燒焙茶、開心果、栗子、雲呢拿、牛奶、黑芝麻、日本抹茶、好像是數之不盡的一個清單。座位比較狹小,但在這寸金尺土的香港也能體諒。店舖的整體擺設10分耀眼奪目,牆上貼滿了店主與各個飲食界名人的合照。

So many flavours of gelato. All made fresh in the shop. They have a huge gelato maker, quite amusing to watch the guy mix the gelato.Different flavors come in different prices. They have some seasonal flavours but they’re quite pricey.Recently had the melon flavoured gelato and it was $98 per scoop. Anyway, worth every penny if you got money to spare.Definitely come back next time to try other flavours This made me happySatisfied

這店筆者早在兩年前它剛開張的時候已說要來,一直拖到最近重新執筆才下定決心到訪;畢竟店址不在大街,要特地繞道而來,到底也會覺得麻煩。想當初也因此怕他營業額不足而倒閉,然而兩年過去,店仍在,看來擔心是多餘的。甫進店,四百呎大的店有三分二是廚房,能站人的大概只有一百呎。右旁的黑板寫上今天雪糕的口味及價錢。掃了一眼,黑板上頭三項是開心果、芒果、朱古力,正是報道中曾提及的招牌口味。三心兩意,最後點了朱古力及開心果,盛惠一百一十一大元——不便宜不打緊,最重要是好吃。老闆聞畢,打開雪櫃,左手拿杯右手拿著類似飯勺的勺子往雪糕面刮,輕輕幾下便刮了一團,卻沒有急著要往紙杯裏放,而是略為於雪糕桶內再翻拌幾下,直到呈泥膠狀才用杯盛起。朱古力味重放底,開心果放上。先試開心果。用小匙刮了一口,反著放進口內,用舌頭往上一頂將雪糕留住,再把小匙緣上顎慢慢拉出。幼滑的雪糕在舌上慢慢融化,開心果味不斷往四方八面蔓延,不知不覺間便包裹整個口腔,香氣愈來愈重;雪糕融到一半,煙韌黏稠的口感開始出現,只好用嚼的方式把它了結。吞了落喉,奶香再也躲藏不住,夾雜着開心果的仁香在口腔內迴盪,揮之不去,浪漫。來一口朱古力,可可的甘香不留餘地的衝擊了整個口腔,絲毫沒有留一點情面給開心果;甘到盡頭有明顯的甜攔著了理應的苦,沒有奶或忌廉的踪影卻幼滑且無單寧感。吞下去,剩下的只有朱古力的濃厚甘甜,一絕。不消十分鐘,吃畢,意猶未盡,卻停住了自己,留下一個再來的理由。單純想吃雪糕解暑的話,還是奉勸你別來了,到麥當勞買杯雪糕也就五元,隨便吃吃便好。來這裡追求的是味道,吃的是意式雪糕而不是隨處可見的美式冰淇淋;就如迴轉壽司跟廚師發辦一樣,沒得比,也比不了。

When in Milan, an Italian described the textured composition of the ‘perfect’ Gelato: “It should be as smooth as mashed potatoes...the flavor of the ice cream should be so potent that there is no doubt that it comes from the earth and not the machine”.Doods’ served me cold mashed potatoes. It was delicious. I picked the pistachio flavor - which in my gelato tasting opinion - the quickest way to test how artificial an parlour’s ingredients are. Typically you can taste the overly saturated fake candy flavor, but it seems as though this was made with real pistachios. I am most impressed!! My mother went for the white Japanese peach flavor. She is not easily impressed by well, anything. But both her and my father loved their respective ice creams!
