吃不成生蠔,與友人徒步到星街一帶,尋找另一個落腳地.永豐街近年來忽然高貴,Jacky Yu的喜宴甜藝,Pizza Express,對面的Agnes b,還有由私房菜做到成高級西餐廳,門面如謎一般神秘的Ingredients.還有Epoch,這間"新年代"咖啡店.店內一角,有DJ Corner,CD架上的,全部也是一些電子音樂的唱片,小弟不算是電音人,唱片架上,最熟悉的,還是Trip Hop系的Massive Attack...以illy咖啡為招牌,不喝咖啡的小弟,朱古力似是唯一之選.其凍朱古力口感很smooth,甜中帶點苦,不是一味得個甜,我喜歡.小吃要個Pepperoni Panini,基本上係個迷你pizza,面頭芝士不厚,餡料的辣肉腸,辣辣地很惹味.店內播著Zero 7的Throw it all away,店外微雨滴嗒滴嗒的在響,這個下午,非常寫意.當其他人還在衝鋒陷陣之同時,小弟沉溺與酖逸,更顯得極度奢侈.....

店內一角,有DJ Corner,CD架上的,全部也是一些電子音樂的唱片,小弟不算是電音人,唱片架上,最熟悉的,還是Trip Hop系的Massive Attack...

以illy咖啡為招牌,不喝咖啡的小弟,朱古力似是唯一之選.其凍朱古力口感很smooth,甜中帶點苦,不是一味得個甜,我喜歡.

小吃要個Pepperoni Panini,基本上係個迷你pizza,面頭芝士不厚,餡料的辣肉腸,辣辣地很惹味.

店內播著Zero 7的Throw it all away,店外微雨滴嗒滴嗒的在響,這個下午,非常寫意.

當其他人還在衝鋒陷陣之同時,小弟沉溺與酖逸,更顯得極度奢侈.....

手中的cappuccino freddo in two layers(可以是one layer 的),黑白分明,啡底偏酸偏甜…not in a right time, man.可能比較特別的,是眼前晚上可以有live music 的DJ bar。忽忽的想,忽忽的覺得格格不入。借個靚位hae 吓啫…其實連hae 既意欲都無。景相+ 其他資料http://q2kill.blogspot.com/2007/05/still-not-right-time-man-epoch.html

I tried Epoch's illy, as well as Hagaan Dazs'. Epoch does an okay job, not greatly disappointed. Hagaan Dazs do not, I repeat, DO NOT know what the hell is going on. What a waste of coffee beans! Perhaps, it is typical of cooperate management; relying on brand names rather than staff training. You will not find a half decent barista in there. And if anyone claims to be one, it is a gross insult to the designation of "Barista". Anyway, illy is being poorly represented in HK. Just look at

This is the agent for illy in HK. What a joke! Just from a quick glance, you can tell 1) they do not have any artistic sense, 2) they did not spend much money on designing the site, probably a mom and pop op. from a basement <- so to speak.

I have heard, the official illy bar in Tokyo, Japan is also not up to par.

每次來﹐都是因為在附近的餐廳或小店關門或滿座了﹐才上來。對不起﹐你是後備。是晚想吃麵包﹐所以進來KO了一個Chicken and Avocado 三文治。咬上第一口才記得之前試過同款的panini -- 它們的panini 總是不是太硬就是沒"炕"成﹐所以這次不敢叫。除了chicken and avocado﹐它裡面還有apple 及red pepper (capsicum)﹐apple 還可以﹐但受不了red pepper。。。麵飽倒是新鮮麥包。portion 很大﹐吃了很飽-- 比起它們的Tuna salad that is。Earl Grey 是Twinings﹐沒驚喜。還是喜歡它們的fruit tart﹐6:30pm 蛋糕櫃後有半價的!

oh by the way, Epoch is still a relatively nice-->decent cafe I have encountered in HK. There are 2 illy issued certificates hanging on the wall (next to the cashier). Unfortunately, I have not met either one of them. So there is still a chance of getting what one would expect from the brand "illy". One thing I would like to see changed, is an option of not getting any freakin fine coca sprinkle over my traditional cappuccino. It is same as dealing with people who do and do not add suga

I would appreciate nothing, NOTHING added to my cappuccino except what is supposed to be there (shot/shots of espresso, and the not over heated, micro foam steamed milk). Is it too much to ask? I know it is hard to please everyone, as asia in general is still a challenging market. Let Starbucks bring the awareness of "espresso" based drinks to the masses, and let illy fine tune the palate. Converting people from drinking (starbucks' over burnt beans) brown, bitter water to drinking real coffee takes a long time. It took north america 15 plus years, who knows how long it will take in asia?

Been looking for decent coffee bar in HK, can't find anything, ANYTHING! Not since Cafe Corridor in Causeway Bay 3 years ago. Unfortunately, CC no longer exist. I also was planning to visit the "illy cafe" in central, Lang Quai Fong, that no longer exist too !!?? I have visited Epoch 3 times so far since mid December 2006. Impressed only by the setup, not their espresso preparation. Second visit, I finally could not help but made a big fuss about the double ristretto I ordered, (with special instruction on how I would like it made). Sure enough, it turned out to be a disappointment. The barista did not know that I was watching her like a hawk. She combined one of the shot from a previous order (about a minute ago) with another shot a minute later (my order), poured together from 2 demitasse cups into 1. Therefore, I asked my order be made again from scratch. The server tried to explain (routine HK way ... "ah ... hai gum ka la, or day de espresso hai gum BLAH BLAH BLAH") she thought I do not know what I am drinking ! But I insisted, so she brought it back to the barista, who (facial expression) shown a little impatient. <-- that, I totally expected, because I am a barista too, and I can comprehend how she might react. Second attempt on the double ristretto, turned out to be a double lungo !! <SIGH> I give up! I quickly finished my drink and told the barista what I do as a living, and left. I felt that I need to say something to her because I don't want them (the staffs) to think that I am trying to be a ignorant coffee snob.

自問念念不忘wellington courtney place illy cafe的軟滑泡沫,早前與友結伴前來緬懷一番。事先已經有心理準備香港版不會有那邊的70%水準,因此店非illy總壇出品,除官網無介紹外卡片上也寫明是maya management主理,實屬賣個BRAND ONLY,好似n年前balenciaga或者ysl賣左個license比香港某某集團甘,於是勁多cheap既公事包,腰帶推出市面同一道理。食品種類走light meal路線,價錢同味道一樣普通,最好食既都係warm chocolate cake。我要左個latte,但真係令我好失望,唔滑,唔香,d泡仲要唔綿又薄~~個barista可能手勢唔好磨壞晒d豆,勁苦。我唔信佢個barista係illy hq train出黎,哩d水準,大快活咩!d staff就個個都唔pro,懶懶閒之餘仲個樣勁唔好又面黑,我成程攪到無晒mood! 朋友o係pp3番工,話可能因為老細d training做得唔好啦,我比甘既錢得d甘既service,我寧願去oliver super sandwich買杯latte to go好過。

去左Epoch食"飯兜",芝士"飯兜"有好多隻味,我地試左個三味餐,原味、薄餅味和阿拉斯加蟹腳味,加無限供應法包。蟹腳味最好食,其他兩款都OK,但係我覺得包比較硬,略為美中不足。叫左杯唔知咩CHINO飲,原本以為係朱古力味咖啡,點知原來粒朱古力係分開上,真係笑爆咀,可憐我地兩個都唔鍾意飲咖啡都要飲哂杯野。埋尾食左兩個甜品,雖然個名好似好另類,但其實都係心太軟和tiramisu,個心太軟好脆,一流,但係個tiramisu就比較普通。

自從太古廣場第三期開幕之後,日月星街一帶開始慢慢改變,由原本一個地痞車房區變成優皮士消閒餐飲區,這間咖啡店正好印證這一脫變。ILLY的咖啡果然係信心保證,而且仲有塊朱古力跟隨,環境也著實不俗,有專人打碟選曲,入夜後燈光會轉暗。價錢方面同星巴克睇齊,但勝在可以簽卡,無帶錢都可以有咖啡飲。美中不足的是地點略為吊腳,附近環境也不優美。店內的冷氣頗凍,而且可能因為是自助服務形式,店員的態度真的有點散漫。但如果你旨在嘆杯靚咖啡,或找個地方躲懶,這會是不錯的選擇。

I am a great fan of Illy coffee. I always rate it in the same class as Cova's coffee. I consume 250 g of the expresso coffee bean every 8 days. I am gald that many cafes such as Hagen Daz serve Illy coffee. I am not sure whether Epoch by Illy is managed by Illy. I have searched Illy's website but got no information relating to the cafe. I should say that the coffee in Epoch is really good. The environment is also very cozy, however, the service is really sloppy. The shop assistants were constant

喺囍宴甜藝同pizza express隔離。飲咖啡有得蓋印仔,滿9個印就有杯free coffee。今次同同事黎食lunch就無飲咖啡,我飲左mango juice,嫌唔夠凍。今次試左peking duck breast sandwiches,ok啦,但唔覺有北京填鴨味,而略嫌包邊比較硬,咬唔到。同事就鍾意crab meat sandwiches。環境ok嫁,有個cd corner有人打碟。
