Have been wanting to try Fang Fang for a long time and when I was told about their new lunch menu, I grabbed my Central work buddy to come with me right away!I really like the chic decor and chill ambience here. I really like the chic decor and chill ambience here.

The lunch menu is really good too. Just at $198 per head, you get 1 dim sum, a starter, a main course and a dessert of your choice. I also ordered a yuzu oolong iced tea cuz I’m a massive tea lover!

Both soups we had were amazing! I especially like my sour & spicy soup, which was rich in flavour and they managed to strike a good balance between sourness and spicy flavours.

The spring rolls I had were delicious! Very crispy in texture and the mushroom fillings were very aromatic.

As for the main course, I had the Fang Fang Soy Chicken (+$50). It was seasoned with soy sauce and Chinese rose wine, where the alcohol has already evaporated yet the aroma of the rose wine remained. The chicken was super tender and the portion was huge!

Last but not least, we both had the red bean soup for dessert. I like how it’s not overly sweet and it was definitely a great choice to warm your stomach after a very filling meal!

It’s really quite difficult to find a good restaurant for lunch in reasonable price with outstanding service. Team leader would like to celebrate with us after a big project which he chose fangfang for us. The environment is good with nice atmosphere which waiter are very polite and serve us with patient. The environment is good with nice atmosphere which waiter are very polite and serve us with patient.

For the mains, I chose golden amber prawn which the the salty egg yolk flavor is particularly yummy and very match with the lotus leaf mushroom rice.

For dessert, it is a must for me to choose almond cream which almond is my all time favourite. Almond cream is quite creamy and full of taste of almond. It would be a good ending for the whole lunch.

朋友在中環上班,難得她有時間午餐相聚,當然要搵間好餐廳,一出𨋢門,reception裝飾非常精緻酒吧area掛了好幾幅中國古典美女,非常fusion致於餐廳部份又好有中國風服務員好細心,解釋Menu之餘又介紹飲品,set lunch 好豐富,有dim sum, starters, mains, desserts蝦餃的蝦非常爽口鮮甜,粉果的皮晶凝通透、夠軟身、餡料又多、非常新鮮松露雜菌春卷好香松露味、春卷皮勁脆一打開碗蓋,香嘖嘖的雞湯味,螺頭雞湯好有家的感覺五香牛展青瓜非常辣、好醒胃琥珀黃金蝦有5粒大大隻的蝦,彈牙又香鹹蛋味,琥珀合桃又甜又脆咖喱牛坑腩的牛腩好諗好入味,仲有青椒紅椒洋蔥薯仔等配菜,配上瑤柱鮮菌荷葉飯,簡直係絕配蛋白杏仁茶一飲就知道係生磨、非常香杏仁味紅豆沙好足料好夠諗兩碗糖水都唔太甜,絕對係健康嘅選擇,見隔離枱的咕嚕肉同東坡肉都好吸引,下次一定要試其他的主菜

主菜既 [濃湯花膠浸菜苗+$80] 花膠份量好足呢 加上茶樹菇🍄杞子令上湯好清甜,底下娃娃菜🥬 吸收晒精華 好美味呢。 [鮮果咕嚕黑毛豬肉+$50] 以士多啤梨🍓`菠蘿🍍`蕎頭`彩椒做成既甜酸汁比一般多份果香,而果汁亦令黑毛豬🐽肉質更淋滑呢。飯類我會推薦 [瑤柱鮮菌荷葉飯] 比絲苗白飯🍚 多份鮮味菌香 也更精緻,單吃已經好好吃呢。

今日同朋友食中午飯,想搵間餐廳慢慢坐低食飯傾計,就揀左中LKF呢間新派中菜。貪佢有個午市套餐,每位$198😍點心揀左蝦餃皇配玫瑰櫻花蝦粉粿和素黑松露春卷。蝦餃皇同粉粿不但皮薄,蝦和粉粿的冬菇蘿蔔餡料都保持爽口,餡料十足,口感豐富,名符其實的皮薄餡靚!👍🏻前菜揀左螺頭燉雞湯同素酸辣湯。燉雞湯香濃足料,酸辣湯的酸味和辣味平衡得好好,而且不會好辣,比起香港大部分上海小菜館做得出色。🤩主菜鮮果咕嚕黑毛豬咕嚕肉肉質結實,配上鮮果的醬汁,酸酸甜甜好開胃。😋.落單時店員推薦我地食是日精選的乳鴨,同行朋友很喜歡食乳鴨,諗都冇諗就即刻叫左。呢道乳鴨真係冇推薦錯!不但外相吸引,味道也很驚豔!外皮炸得香脆乾身,肉味香濃,肉質算嫩,很有驚喜的一道菜!想試乳鴨的朋友記得去到要問下店員有冇供應了。🥰所有主菜配埋香菇荷葉飯/白飯,荷葉飯釀了很多瑤柱和冬菇,食落菌香味十足👍🏻,單食也不會覺得清淡。👏🏻最後的甜品點了十勝紅豆小煎堆和生磨蛋白杏仁茶。杏仁味好出,而且不會過甜。煎堆皮煙靭,配埋雪糕🍦一齊食,呢個中西合璧的食法原來都幾好食!難得地係香港搵到一間環境甘舒適的新派中菜館,如果早點知道有呢間餐廳,母親節👩🏻就唔洗諗

落單時店員推薦我地食是日精選的乳鴨,同行朋友很喜歡食乳鴨,諗都冇諗就即刻叫左。呢道乳鴨真係冇推薦錯!不但外相吸引,味道也很驚豔!外皮炸得香脆乾身,肉味香濃,肉質算嫩,很有驚喜的一道菜!想試乳鴨的朋友記得去到要問下店員有冇供應了。🥰
所有主菜配埋香菇荷葉飯/白飯,荷葉飯釀了很多瑤柱和冬菇,食落菌香味十足👍🏻,單食也不會覺得清淡。👏🏻

最後的甜品點了十勝紅豆小煎堆和生磨蛋白杏仁茶。杏仁味好出,而且不會過甜。煎堆皮煙靭,配埋雪糕🍦一齊食,呢個中西合璧的食法原來都幾好食!

A nice lunch is very important for me. It wakes me up and gives me energy for the rest of the day. Fang Fang was a nice place for me to relax and enjoy my lunch.  Good vibes with friendly staffs.We started with this refreshing tofu salad with sesame dressing. The sesame dressing they used tasted like Japanese ones for just tofu salad, but this one here added more greens. It got me well prepared for the rest of the meal. Signature shrimp dumpling and truffle mushroom dumpling were just appetizing

We started with this refreshing tofu salad with sesame dressing. The sesame dressing they used tasted like Japanese ones for just tofu salad, but this one here added more greens. It got me well prepared for the rest of the meal. Signature shrimp dumpling and truffle mushroom dumpling were just appetizing.

Stir fried sweet and sour beef with rice crust and prawns with salted egg sauce were the main dishes my and I ordered. The beef was a bit chewy and the sauce was a bit too sour. On the other hand, the prawns were so tasty! Prawns were fresh, salted egg sauce was savory.

Last but not least, we had ginger crème brulee and fried custard dumpling. Ginger added some Chinese elements to the taste, and it went really well with crème brulee. Just by the name of the custard dumpling, I never thought it would look that cute! It's a shape of carrot. It was made of carrot flavor custard, with a scope of vanilla ice-cream of the side. Delicious!~~

My usual quiet lunch spot if I haven’t done any advance booking, decent food quality, good service. But now getting more busier , better to book before you come over. And my favourite ginger cream Bullee sold out...Still good as usual tho. Recommended

At the time I remember the service was excellent where staff were attentive and could offer insights and recommendations as to which dishes we would like but without it feeling like an aggressive or pushy sale. The food itself was fresh and full of flavour as well as being beautifully presented, so I did have good thoughts about this place; until my experience today. 

My boss booked a table of 8 for the desk due to hearing  so many rave reviews and we were all quite eager to try it out for lunch. We were guided to the private room, which was a pleasant surprise and the member of staff was very courteous. We found out that they had a lunch set menu only and no à la carte, which was a little disappointing but acceptable as I guess we couldn't expect every item to be offered if it was to be cooked fresh and with so many diners that needing serving.  For a modest $198 HKD we were in a clean, suavely decorated establishment, right in the heart of Central. We certainly didn't have any qualms about that!

From the set menu I ordered:

*Starters*
-Dim sum (1 x Signature shrimp dumpling & 1 x Truffle mushroom dumpling)
-Hot and Sour Soup  

*Main*
-Sweet & sour Iberico pork with pomelo and strawberry

*Dessert*
-Fried custard dumpling

There weren't too many issues with the starters to be fair. I am not a fan of mushrooms, so I have no idea what possessed me to order the hot and sour soup, but I did  and I found it too be a quite soothing. The mushrooms had a slight crunch with a subtle flavour that complemented the acidity and spice of the soup. The soup itself was thick and smooth and felt satisfying and hearty with each and every mouthful.

The dim sum was so-so as the filling was prepared very well and enriched with all the fresh ingredients cooked just right, but the outer casings were sticky and fell apart quite easily, which made the combination rather laboured when taking a bite. The dumplings were also extremely hot when they were served, so it appears as though they were a little too eager to get the dishes out to the customers rather than let them cool down for just a little while to overcome the issues.

The main was a disappointment for me, not that I couldn't eat it, but just the concept behind it. I figured that as you had to pay extra and since Iberico pork is regarded as quite the delicacy, I would be served thick, succulent slices of pork lightly glazed with an invigorating sweet sauce. However, I received sweet and sour pork, as common as you would find anywhere else in HK. It tasted fine if you accepted it as that quintessential takeaway favourite, but why waste the meat by battering it and masking the flavour? Would you  consider using A5 Kobe beef for a spaghetti bolognese as well? 

With regards to the mains, we were served our rice first and then the main dishes came at different times ranging from 20-40 minutes later. This was poor planning and service as we either had to wait for everyone to be served and then our food would go cold or eat straight away and finish at different times, while the last few to start feel pressure to wolf down their main without taking a moment to enjoy their meal. Some of my colleagues ordered the fish (which came in 3 meagre pieces) and even then they barely touched it as they didn't expect something 'grilled' to be battered.

I thought that they might redeem themselves with the dessert, the 'fried custard dumpling', but it was hardly the case. What I received was a single 'jin dui' (fried glutinous rice ball) with ice cream. It was  hard to break into and got tightly wedged on my spoon as I was trying to take a piece. I expected custard to drip out but it seemed like there was just lotus paste lining the inside.

The member of staff was courteous enough to try and make amends by offering us all coffee on the house, which was a nice gesture, but couldn't really make up for the experience itself.

I am not actually greatly critical of many places and can enjoy very simple meals, but this was a really disappointing experience for me and I have said all the above with pure sincerity and no malicious intent whatsoever.

FINAL VERDICT:
 A GREAT PLACE MARRED BY A PURELY UNINSPIRING LUNCH

I managed to reserve a table for 3 about an hour ago before we arrived for lunch on a weekday. It was quite full so we only managed to take seats at the lounge area. At first I was worried that the table would be too low but it was actually ok and really much more quiet. Good for chatting!

There didn't seem to be much differences in the signature lunch set compared with our last visit a few months ago. Price remained the same at a cost of $198+10% per head.

All of us ordered the Double Boiled Ginseng & Conch soup as our starter. It was a good soup with indeed some ginseng and conch which were both of reasonable quality. Just to pick bones from an egg, some pork in the soup was too hard and rough.

The dim sum was the same as last time and the quality was equally good, if not better! They were freshly steamed which were so hot when served. The wraps were both very thin with loads of ingredients. The truffle mushroom dumpling smelt so good of truffle with loads of mushrooms. The signature shrimp dumpling was so meaty with fresh shrimp ingredients. Delicious.

For some reason it took so long for our mains to arrive. After repeated following up, a server made us 2 complimentary teas to make up. I tried the first tea only, which I forgot the name or ingredients, but it was refreshing indeed and was just slightly sweet. Good!

Finally our mains arrived. This golden amber prawns with salted egg yolk and sugar walnut was ok taste-wise but the batter for the prawns was a bit too thick! They could have been much better. The sugar walnut (although not much) was yummy!

This Fang Fang soy chicken in Chinese Rose Wine required an additional charge of $50+10% which was really good. It smelt so so good when served! It really lifted your expectation just by its look. And indeed the chicken was very well-seasoned with a slightly sweet and delicious sauce. It was highly recommended.

Curry Beef Brisket with potatoes & bell peppers

The curry beef brisket was good as well with tender beef briskets and delicious curry sauce. Even the potatoes were so delicious with crispy crust and soft interior. There were quite a lot of bell peppers and onions accompanying the beef briskets. To pick bones from an egg, there could have been more beef briskets and the curry sauce could have been thicker.

We all chose this over the Jasmine rice. Last time, I recalled there was insufficient flavour or smell of lotus leaf and the rice was just like plain rice. But this time it seemed better with richer flavour of the lotus leaf. But again I found it a bit too plain still.

I didn't the fried carrot custard dumpling but it looked so cute that I couldn't help but take a picture! My lunch partner said that the fried carrot was actually something with black sesame stuffing and a crispy crust while there was a vanilla ice-cream served on the side. I would definitely have ordered this if I had known that it was made of these ingredients!

Overall, I think the quality of the food had improved even more, making it a even better deal given the price and location in Central. Just that service was a bit slow today maybe because they were really too busy. Would definitely come back from time to time and recommend it to my friends.

it comes with a shrimp dumpling dim sum as the starter and you can make your own choose of salad/soup. i had the soup which is the double boiled meat soup and my friend has the tofu salad with sesume dreasing. then you get to choose your main course, we had the fried beef with onion, deep fried duck meat and prawn with salty egg. the fried duck meat comes with wrapper which looks like beijing duck. the salty egg prawn was also in deep fried. and then for dessert, it comes with almond tea or cream burlee. and the manager there actually gave us a complientary drink afterall. nice service with friendly staff.

Yesterday we celebrated a friend’s birthday brunch at Fang Fang. Thank you to the staff who were professional, attentive and accommodating, even presenting a gift to the birthday girl. We were a very large group and they were patient and helpful throughout the meal. The food was delicious and I highly recommend the roast duck, sweet and sour pork and the eggplant they have a promotion and the final cost was very good value.
