和老公慶祝週年紀念、他喜歡 英倫風、 我做了很多researches才找到這間餐廳、餐廳實在讓人滿有驚喜! 首先是他的 品味 裝修 、當然少不了多影些相片放上instagram、 哈哈 每個角落也 影到靚相! 裝修算過了老公那關、 服務當然 收了這個價錢也沒有讓我失望 , 他 也沒有跟我客氣 、點了 數樣食物、其中特別喜歡 beef wellington及肥美生蠔、 只有讚沒有彈... 享受了美味的一餐 、為一年的美好回憶的總結 、必會再來!highly recommended!

已經第二次到訪,服務/情調一流,好適合情侶或同蜜友聚會,整體感覺舒適。第一次用餐點了tasting menu,靚到唔捨得食。今次第二次嚟試左Beef Wellington for two to share,非常好味,生熟適中,對於愛牛一族嘅我啱哂,分量都幾大,一份已經好足夠兩人食。甜品選擇比較少,有待改善,一定會再嚟,下次打算試下個Roast Cornish Hen/ seafood platter,見隔離枱食好似幾吸引。

My wife and I went here with another couple and we all ordered the tasting menu. All dishes looked great but the taste was very underwhelming. Roast potatoes were under cooked and quite bland. Halibut fish was very fishy. The best dishes were the fresh bread and dessert. Service and deco was great but for the cost of $1000 pp we expected better food.

When I heard about Goughs on Gough serving british food, I honestly was not interested as I didnt have a good impression of British food....always thought they lacked finesse and not too interesting. Dashi Custard is by far my favourite course, love the uni and the whole dish is so balanced. Wagyu steak was  perfectly cooked and juicy, and the size is just right. AND the dessert is my favourite part, I had the Nordic Milk/ Yoghurt dish (dont' remember the name), it comes with some crunchy bits and the whole dish is light and ends the meal perfectly.  The only thing which I think would be nice is serving the Ruinart champagne, which is my favourite champagne! however they do serve Billecart Salmon which is great as well. Even the British sparkling wine they carry is very impressive and reasonably priced.

Re their service - it is definitely top notch! from making reservation, arriving there, dining and leaving the restaurant, every single detail were taken care of. Jonathan and Francois had been taking care of us very well. We never had to wait for them to come to us if we have any requests - they just knew and already brought what we wanted! I look forward to going to Gough's on Gough again to try their new menu! it never disappoints!

Me and my girl friends wanted a nice and chill place for a casual drinks and my friend suggested gough on gough’s. Initially I wasn’t sure as I saw a bad review on its cocktail drinks and I wanted somewhere with nice cocktails - but decided to give it a go as the venue seems nice.To my surprise the cocktail drinks were really nice. To my surprise the cocktail drinks were really nice. I had the Iron Lady cocktail with gin and raspberry and it was really refreshing, fruity and easy to drink which I really enjoyed. Can’t remember what my friends ordered but they said their cocktails were nice too.

The ambiance was great with nice decoration, comfy seat and quiet and chill enough for us to talk and catch up. The waiters and waitress were very friendly, helpful and attentive especially the manager who was extremely nice and redo my second drink when I find the hibiscus taste a bit too strong for my liking.

All in all - a great place for nice cocktails with alot of choices and a nice place to catch up with friends - would definitely come back again. I rarely write a review on Openrice but it was a really enjoyable night for us especially with the staff being so nice and friendly which sometimes makes a difference

The Australian wild octopus was so fresh that it melted in my mouth without much chewing. It went surprisingly well with the soba noodles soaking with soba sauce. More like Japanese food than British, but who cares as long as it is delicious?

A very hearty dish with yummy fried kale underneath the pork and fried quinoa on the potato puree. Not to mention that the pork shoulder was nicely cooked so that the portion of fat and lean meat was right to the point - not too oily/chewy/dry.

Dessert of the Day:
An ordinary piece of cake with lemon sauce on top. What's special about it is the warm cream finishing, which melted the "candy sticks". It wasn't overly sweet or stuffy, which makes it really enjoyable!

We ordered the dinner tasting menu and it was a huge let down. For about 900-1000 hkd you get a few plates and I thought it was actually a fair price as most tasting menus are 1500+. I’m not sure why they would ever serve popcorn anywhere for a lavish dining experience. Would have been fine to stick with bread. The little beef thing on the left tasted like freezer meat.

Can you even see the meat? No, me neither. Another huge disappointment here is the plating. It didn’t even look appetising! The pigeon was cooked very nicely but honestly this was a subpar dish in every way.

They went all out with peanut butter chocolate lollipops and a chocolate mousse - all of which we left on the table. The mouse has a citrus kind taste that didn’t taste like chocolate at all. The lollipop we weren’t a fan of bc its a lot of frozen of peanut butter. This dessert was presented very well but tasted disgusting.

All in all this dinner tasting menu was a disaster and I would have gladly paid more for a real meal. There was not one dish I would recommend. Maybe if you go here you should order from the a la carte menu but this was really hands down the worst tasting menu I’ve had in Hong Kong.

We came here when they started serving for dinner at 6:30pm. I guess probably we made the reservation well in advanced they gave us the table in the little room in their secret corner where there’s this zebra display and scared one of my friends We thought the tasting menu is a bit too much for us so we decided to order a la carte. Food was pretty good although I personally didn't like the choices in the lunch menu. The service was extremely friendly. The quality of food was good, although the portion was quite small. Overall I thought it was a bit pricey for the food they were serving. But the decoration was quite nice

第一次黎到呢間英國菜餐廳,一踏入餐廳,會被佢既金色旋轉樓梯吸引,行上二樓,地方唔大,但室內裝橫卻非常獨特,原來係由著名室內設計師設計,所以未開始食野已經好impress.是日食左佢既lunch set, 想講既係佢既主菜煎三文魚Pan fired Nordic salmon,外面煎得香脆,裡面唔會過熟,保持嫩滑多汁,調味唔會過重而遮蓋三文魚既味道,絕對有水準,不知不覺就會全部食哂。😋P.S. 餐廳既裝橫好靚好華麗,杯碟都充滿英式風味,女仔會好鍾意。另外服務亦都好好,讚!

Growing up, brunch was a meal eaten after breakfast, but before lunch. Since then it’s lost the logic if its inception. Today, brunch generally equates to an over-indexing of eggs or alcohol. My little sister lives in Dubai where brunch entails overpaid middle managers in ill-fitting beige chinos, escaping their gated compounds for an afternoon of chugging Veuve, necking overcooked lobster and vomiting into the chocolate fountain. She recently explained her latest Dubai revelation, the ‘evening

Growing up, brunch was a meal eaten after breakfast, but before lunch. Since then it’s lost the logic if its inception. Today, brunch generally equates to an over-indexing of eggs or alcohol. 

My little sister lives in Dubai where brunch entails overpaid middle managers in ill-fitting beige chinos, escaping their gated compounds for an afternoon of chugging Veuve, necking overcooked lobster and vomiting into the chocolate fountain. 

She recently explained her latest Dubai revelation, the ‘evening brunch’. With my face in palms and the utterance of “window licker” and “that’s called dinner”, we quickly moved onto safer conversational ground; the horrific cost of imported Waitrose produce. 

I mention this as my first meal of the New Year (providing you discount a 3am double cheeseburger) was a brunch. A brunch at lunchtime. A brunch consisting of roast beef and a Yorkshire pudding. 

Regardless of the mealtime nomenclature, Gough’s on Gough is a class act. In stark contrast to , the experience was utterly charming. To a fault, every member of staff fizzed with charm, the décor was eccentrically charming and the food dazzled with understated charm. 

With it being New Year’s Day, there was no à la carte option. However, the simple set menu provided enough variety to quell the
feeling that we were missing out. The four courses consisted of fresh seafood, a trio of small plates, a main (for which we both opted for roast beef) and a desert (ice cream for Mr. A, chocolate mousse for Mrs. A).

The first course of oyster, clams and prawn was as it should be; delightfully clean, cold and succulent. As I tipped the oyster down the hatch, I tried not to think about the challenge of acquiring fresh seafood on New Year’s Day, but instead on how the lingering taste of tequila and Maccy D’s was no more. 

Then the starters arrived. The first, a dish of beef shin – presumably left over from last night’s more extravagant celebrations – was paired with mash potato of equal parts butter and vegetable. 

For the second, a fashionably slow cooked egg sat atop, fruity, nutty mushrooms and salty beef pastrami. 

The third, a slight, delectable slither of cured Atlantic Char (I’ll save you the Googling; it’s a freshwater white fish from Northern Europe) and lightly pickled vegetables was just about flawless. 

It’s was reassuring that the food wasn’t resting on the laurels of the décor. A sufficient number of critics have fawned over Timothy Oulton’s stunning interior – which lies somewhere between Luhrmann’s Gatsby and Salford Boys Club. Instead of fighting for attention, the whimsy of the surrounding literally and figuratively frames the serious, but playfulness of the dishes. 

There’s not too much to say about the main. The Yorkshire was bulbous, the beef was juicy and the veg rapt with the artery-clogging miracle of goose fat. Like the desert, it didn’t last very long at all. 

Gough’s has none of the disingenuous Star-chasing flannelling of French Window. But with food, service and ambience this good, accolades will inevitably follow. But really who cares, whether it’s causing or quelling the hangover, I expect to be indulging at Gough’s a great deal in 2018.

朋友點了Pork belly($358). 上來一共三塊,肥瘦分明。我偷吃了一塊,豬肉很淋,放在嘴裡那罪惡的肥油刺激著味蕾,很好吃!!吃完這個不知道要做多少運動才能消耗掉哈哈哈!

相信owner 或其他staff有看openrice 的评价, 这次再来实事求是的说,各方面都进步了。 服务dramatically的改善了,希望能保持,也许其他食客也可以分享他们在这餐厅的感受如何。食物味道有些OK,有些不错。希望下次再来会更进步。

近来我吃过的其中一家super 难吃的餐厅。真心不要介绍朋友来。原因如下:其实,我personally喜欢餐厅 的装修,,还有餐具,很美。 但是从我们一进入餐厅二楼,真热得要死!!空气不太流通,但跟让我生气的是三个老外服务生,水平完全完全不达标! Excuse me, 我现在在工厂饭堂吃饭吗?价钱不是最贵,但main course 起跳三百多也不是很便宜啊,完全不像样!然后教了cocktail, 我真心希望其他有喝过这餐厅的朋友出来评评分,我个人就认为是一场灾难! 超级难喝!另叫sparking water当然没事。Starter 普普通通,main course 最好的只是正常,其他那吃。 还有,水杯没水, 要我亲自叫了3次加水,还是没人来,结果要我骂才有人来。服务应该早早检讨。通常有名气但难吃的餐厅,甜品都会OK,甚至非常好吃,但这家不是。(朋友请客,下星期要再来,我不好意思说明这餐厅怎么糟糕,但愿到时候有改善。)
