The burger is the star here, if you love quality you've gotta check out this restaurant... the quality was obvious. Fresh ingredients and the burger didn't leave you with that 'heavy, greasy feeling'. I washed it down with a beer, which was a perfect combo. Burger meat is quality tasting. The burger was juicy and flavorful. I love the fact that sesame seed buns were used. The onion ring was crispy and the ratio of toppings to burger to bun was spot on.
Fresh buns, healthy sized beef patty, no soggy lettuce, accompanied by crispy onion ring. Everything you want in a burger, a meal in itself. No drips of grease as you eat, just that succulent burger taste you long for. Overall an 8/10

The place was small and rather quiet comparing to other restaurants in the same area. There were 2 or 3 other customers while we were there. Perfect little hang out place with a couple of friends for a quick bite.

This is the huge meun right beside the entrance, basically you can 'make' by that i mean combine your own favorite ingredients into one by following the steps listed there. However, my friend and i found it rather complicated, you have to pick the patty, sauce, pickle etc etc. We had it figured out half way down the list then we realised there was some signature burgers listed on the right lol. We then of course gave up choosing one by one and decided what to get in no time.

Just one complain we have, a bottle of beer cost us $55 and a can of coke cost us $30. i mean no offense but this is clearly not a 5 star hotel restaurant. From the look and the size of it, it is more like one of those 'eat and go'. who would charge this much on drinks? It cost you no time but fridge and ice to store it, way more easier than making a burger. anyways, i do hope the work out the balance some time. (7-11 is right across!!!)

真係離晒大譜!!! 竟然一罐汽水要成$30! 仲狼過搶喎, 係咪飲咗會識飛?! 雖然我自己冇睇清楚都有d唔啱, 但係都唔駛咁樣掛! 如果你話幫你倒埋, 送杯冰, 整少少色水野都話順d, 而家係自己攞, 杯都冇隻, 仲要唔夠凍! 如果知道咁貴寧願飲smoothies好過啦! 離譜!

本身漢堡同薯條都唔係話咁差, 只係俾個汽水搞到一肚氣, 散叫預咗貴, 但都唔需要咁盡丫… 唔怪之得睇勻咁多張枱都冇人飲野, 店方係咪可以咁忍心睇住食客乾啃漢堡包, 如果係咁不如唔好賣汽水啦.

I don’t like burgers, but I love quality burgers. One of the junkie places that I frequently visit is the Gourmet Burger Union. It is hard to find freshly made burgers in Hong Kong, but now with GBU, you can have yours anytime. Juicy beef and great sauce, but not for the bun. Buns are not toasted nor heated up before being served, one of the disappointment I’d say. GBU is definitely not the bestest junkie place, given that they have bad services and yet, very pricey.Must-have: Burgers, any beef

Utter disappointment: The buns and the fries. French fries are expensive but tasteless and dry. Don’t expect any good customer service there either.

There were still lots of illusions from my head about how the burger would look like when still waiting.

However, when it came to real thing, a little disappointed.

Not very big, just a little bit bigger than the burger in McDonald's. Could say the ingredients were a bit different, with thicker beef, beacon and vegetables. However, the taste was not that good as I guessed. The beef was not juicy enough while the beacon was not crunchy.

It was only fair as a whole. If it was not located in Central, I do not think it can survive long in Hong Kong.

So I went with the classic: 1/4lb, cheddar, onion, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno, yellow mustard and plain ketchup. And fries. And it was good. I agree with the other commenters who thought the burger was too small for the bun. But a 1/4 pound of meat is a fair amount, so I just didn't eat the rest of the bun + condiments + toppings. IMHO, they should just make the buns smaller. The meat is tasty, though obviously not as good as what you'd get at an actually good American burger place, it's tastier than lots of burgers I've had in America. Lots. And way better than the Japanese burgers at MOS and Freshness Burger. The cheddar was great, and the lettuce, tomato, and onion were fresh. I skipped all the fancy mustards and sauces and just had the yellow stuff on the table, which was just what I wanted/ needed. For what it was and where it was (HK), 8/10.

I actually went here twice, once by myself and once with my wife. The first time I asked for jalapenos, and they instead gave me pepperocinis. I only bring this up to say: pepperocinis, though unorthodox, are not a bad burger topping.

One order of fries is enormous. More fries than 2 people could or at least should eat. They're respectably tasty, though not the epitome of great fries. If you're looking for good fries, the Japanese places like MOS and Freshness Burger are pretty good (though again, not great). From what I've seen, the burger chains in HK will deliver good but not great fries. 6/10

A lot of reviewers complained about the price. I'm new to HK, and I still have trouble converting HKD to USD in my head, so I rarely even remember what I paid for things, much less whether it was expensive or not (it never feels one way or the other. I just give people my money when they ask for it.) I will say that one reviewer mentioned walking up and down the mid-levels looking for a place on the cheap side and settling on this, and this place does seem to be cheap *for the area*.

I'd recommend the BYOB to an American. But if you're going to have eggs and olives and beans thrown on your burger, I have nothing to say to you, because you and I are not remotely taste-compatible. I read around and apparently this place is apeing British burger places, so it may well be that it's good as British burgers go or bad as British burgers go, but I have no way of knowing given my nationality. So in conclusion, don't listen to me if you're British, or if you're native to HK, or basically anywhere not America. But if you're an American, choose BYOB, stay classic, and you can get a solid lunch at.... some price or another.

豬團購了coupons, 趁著我還可以早下班, 就來一個early dinner 再去看電影6時多就到達, 我們是第一枱晚市客呢.. 用手上的coupons加大約$40就買了以下食物:uble truffle burger;;; 說有portabello 和truffle sauce.,.. 大蘑菇就吃不出來了, 松露汁倒是有的, 不過不見得很美味. 要說最差的該是那patty! 乾柴烈火呀! 一點肉汁都沒有! 所以說, 漢堡包看似易做, 但原來坊間很多都不太像樣, 包括這間的出品也只是普通水平potato wedge w/ chili and cheese::: 意想不到的是郼辣肉醬也真是辣! 豬完全吃不到, 我當然沒問題, 只是比較意料之外! 說回食物質素, 老實說薯仔也沒有太多評價, 芝士和辣肉的份量倒是多的, 是很飽肚!peanut butter shake;; 買前有點怕會太漏, 果然沒有估計錯! 我是花生醬的忠實粉絲也不得不說, 這個shake也太足料吧! density是100%! 哈哈... 連飲管也不能用! 其實花生味不太濃, 可能加了很多cream/ice crea

potato wedge w/ chili and cheese::: 意想不到的是郼辣肉醬也真是辣! 豬完全吃不到, 我當然沒問題, 只是比較意料之外! 說回食物質素, 老實說薯仔也沒有太多評價, 芝士和辣肉的份量倒是多的, 是很飽肚!

peanut butter shake;; 買前有點怕會太漏, 果然沒有估計錯! 我是花生醬的忠實粉絲也不得不說, 這個shake也太足料吧! density是100%! 哈哈... 連飲管也不能用! 其實花生味不太濃, 可能加了很多cream/ice cream所致... 老實說淨飲一杯都夠飽呢... 豬也被ko了, 何況我....

個人認為這種質素的食物一次就夠... 說差也不算是, 只是天下美食何其多, 我寧可留肚給更精彩的美食!

Went to the GBU on Hollywood and Lok Ku Road, ordered a Dirty Mofo and a Double Truffle, 2 customers came after us and ordered.We decided to add a greek salad so we ordered again... and ended up waiting 30min for them to cook *our* burgers... refusing to make the greek salad before the other 2 customers... then making a $42 salad, that I ate in about 15seconds, with 5minutes time... and finally giving us cold burgers with the salad...Ok, fine, I should have ordered the greek salad at first, but

We decided to add a greek salad so we ordered again... and ended up waiting 30min for them to cook *our* burgers... refusing to make the greek salad before the other 2 customers... then making a $42 salad, that I ate in about 15seconds, with 5minutes time... and finally giving us cold burgers with the salad...

Ok, fine, I should have ordered the greek salad at first, but common sense would dictate that you shouldn't just leave the burgers in a bag and expect them to be remotely ok 20min after being cooked... so there are 2 *logical* options:
1) just stick the greek salad order in front of the 2 other customers.... it shouldn't take long to make it... well for normal people anyway... (would take me 15s... you know.. equivalent trade...)
2) just delay our burger orders and make the salad along with the burgers after the 2 customers... if they told me, I would be cool with it... instead I got 2 cold burgers and a salad worth $200

Also regarding the take out... it was for a few reasons:
1) it's just downstairs of my flat
2) it's right next to Hollywood road, outside... and that means car smoke and dust on my burger when I'm eating. Not cool.
3) you sit on stools... i hate stools, it doesn't have back support and it doesn't encourage a good sitting posture either, so you end up drooping awkwardly over your meal, i.e. uncomfortable meal = bad.

As for taste... It was dry, cold and generally unappetizing. Oh did I mention COLD? I won't ever go back to that place again... I'll go to other GBUs even if it's 10x the distance (which I'm not exaggerating..)

1. 熱到你有溫暖的感覺, 有邊個欠左溫暖的感覺, 可以在這裡找到(其實佢地跟本唔識用冷氣機, 一開冷氣就較去18度製冷, 個冷氣會製冷先至奇, 叫佢重開冷氣, 每部冷機d說明書都有寫先開風後幾分鐘製冷仲要由室溫續少調低, 佢又唔聽)2. 等食物等到傻, 人客得一半, 都要等成廿分鐘, 星期一至五lunch time 都唔知駛唔駛呆等半個鐘, burger 有咁多種, 樣樣都唔同, 跟住個成份表係咁對, 對到d廚師傻下傻下咁3. 見個廚師係咁用個剷壓落漢堡扒到等d肉汁無晒4. 野食野飲都貴到飛起, 無優惠都唔會去, 有優惠都會一肚氣5. 薯條唔知番炸定點真係炸到好乾, 可能加芝士後又去烤一烤之禍6. 座位不舒服, 個枱又穩鎮是日選購, angry mofo burger & fries with cheese

如果你怕熱, 千其唔好去, 因為嗰喥好焗, 只有風扇, 加上係open kitchen, 空氣極不流通如果你無耐性, 千其唔好去, 因為d所謂廚師, 好似遊魂咁, 做得好慢, 叫個飽, 要等十五分鐘如果你食嘢係有d要求, 千其唔好去, 薯條, 番炸又番炸, 乾哂, d洋蔥圈, 炸到好油好核突, 收成$40一份, 好唔抵, d burger, 無特別, 個飽好差, 絕對不值幾十蚊....仲有, 佢個地方都唔乾淨, d蕃汁樽chi lap lap, 總之兩個字講哂 - 好"核突"!
